Our Culture is the Soil to Own Faith
Reported by Lydia Compton
It was a crisp 43 Degrees this morning as 79 people gathered in the Sanctuary to celebrate True Parents Day, Foundation Day and Heavenly Parent’s Day together. Although it was cold outside, by the time the celebration ended, the temperature was much warmer--- both internally & externally!
However, in between, it was a different kind of Holy Day! As Rev Doo said, True Father was seated in his chair on stage and smiling. It seemed he was managing the whole celebration.
Rev Doo offered a profound and deeply true history lesson, orienting the community about the Three Special Holy Days that were being celebrated and why True Father established them in that order. It was a thoughtful presentation giving important content to the event and helping the community focus in on who True Parents are and why we are here to attend them.
Things calmed down and hearts became calm as well.
Then there was another surprise, Angie Moraes came to the stage to sing a powerful rendition of “The Crown of Glory”, accompanied by Kaylee Teo & Marcus Fuller Jr. Following that, Rachael McDaniel was guided by the spirit to sing “To Every Season” and her daughter Kinesha, joined with her. The assembled community sang the final chorus along with them.
And finally, the group photo was taken & the cake was served. At that point everyone just started talking with each other, eating cake and picking up their family’s share of the holy day fruit from the offering table. The visiting GPA members and the local CARP took their own group photo together outside, but came back in for cake and more conversation.
In the end, in spite of themselves and what looked like mistakes along the way, everything came together as God wanted & the new year began, warm & clear, in the midst of it all.
God bless you and God Bless True Parents! Let’s make it a great year for Heaven.
