Jonah 1: 7-15
1.
How does God speak to us?
i.)
Directly – God may speak to us
directly by moving our hearts when we pray or listen to the Word.
ii.)
Through others – God sometimes
uses those around us to tell us His word.
iii.)
Through our circumstances –
sometimes our circumstances show us signs that the Lord’s return is near.
2.
Whose responsibility is it?
l At times God punishes us because we do not obey God or repent.
l God loves us and helps us. So
when we pray, He acts accordingly. He
changes circumstances, the laws of nations, and even the weather.
3.
Throw me into the ocean
l Through this mission trip, I asked God why Missionary Sung loved
Mexico so much. He travels 8-9 hours
round trip every week and yet he keeps wanting to go back. The reason I got back was that it is his
mission.
l People are saved through his work.
l I spent 9 years as a missionary in Africa and spread the gospel to
tens of thousands of people. But I didn’t
do much. I merely lived in obedience to
God from day to day, and He caused the fruits of that labor.
l Why must we go on a short term mission trip to Mexico? What can we possibly do?
l But God is able to save souls through our obedience.
