Angels with the Saints
(4/28/2024 text: Psalm 34:1:10)
The word angel means messenger of heaven, and they are created to serve God and fulfill His will. Angels were created to serve God the Creator and to carry out His commands and will, to bless the name of Jehovah God and to glorify Him (Psalm 103:22).
Adam and Eve, who lost the image of God because they did not obey God's commands, were expelled from the Garden of Eden, an earthly paradise (Genesis 3:24). However, our loving Heavenly Father took pity on those who were destined to die because of their sins, redeemed them through Jesus Christ, and made those who received Him children of God with authority (John 1:12-13).
Therefore, God's children, who are heirs of salvation in Jesus Christ, should give thanks and praise to God for sending angels to this earth to help us save. The writer of Hebrews writes about the spiritual identity of angels and their duties when he says, "Are not all angels ministering spirits, sent to minister to the heirs of salvation" (Hebrews 1:14).
The saints should be grateful to God, believing that He has sent angels to protect us by His power until we achieve our salvation. The heavenly host of angels encamps around those who fear the Lord and saves them (Psalm 34:4-9). Therefore, we must always bless the name of Jehovah God and live in the fear of Jehovah God.
Angels are God's servants and have been endowed by God with the power to fulfill His commands and will. Therefore, the angels listen to the word of the Lord and bless the Lord in order to fulfill His word (Psalm 103:20-21). Angels also observe the great and small affairs of the saints, who are God's heirs of salvation, to rescue them from difficult adversities, to hear our pleading cries, and to protect and guard them from the evil forces of the devil (Jeremiah 33:3).
Jehovah establishes his throne in heaven and rules over all things by the government of his Kingdom. The psalmist proclaims God's greatness, saying that the heavenly bodies of the universe, which were created by the hand of Jehovah God the Creator, and the sun and moon that exist on the earth in which we live, proclaim God's glory and praise God's handiwork (Psalm 19:1-4).
God, who created the heavens and the earth in the beginning with His Word, is working to accomplish His will for us in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:10). We should praise the glory of God's grace, knowing that He will help His retarded saints through angels to restore His lost blessings and to make them a glorious hymn (Ephesians 1:6, 12).
Therefore, God's people who are living in the last days must face the nearness of God's hand of salvation for us. We must be alert and alert in these last days, when the devils roam like roaring lions, looking for someone to devour. To win the battle against the evil forces of darkness and the wicked spirits in heaven, we must put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-11).
As you go forth in all your prayers and supplications, in prayer in the Holy Spirit, God will help you by His mighty hand. Only the Lord God is our refuge and fortress and the God in whom I trust, and He will mobilize the heavenly host of angels to guard me in all ways so that the calamity does not come near the tabernacle so that the woe does not reach me (Psalm 91:2,3,10,11).
In the 40-year period of the Old Testament in the wilderness, God protected the Israelites with a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire like the apple of His eye, and caused the generation that betrayed the grace of Jehovah God, who protected them through His angels, to die in the wilderness, and to show mercy to them, and lead their descendants to the Promised Land. Even in this age, God the Father will hear the prayers and supplications of His children who live in this world like the wilderness, help them with the angels of heaven, save them, and lead them to the kingdom of heaven, the land of the new covenant (Psalm 121:5-8).
Sermon for April 28, 2024 Scripture: Angels with the Saints
(Psalm 103:22) "Bless the Lord, O my soul, you who are in all the places where the LORD has created and who reigns over him."
(John 1:12-13) "[12] To those who received him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, even to them that believe in his name, [13] who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."
(Hebrews 1:14) "Are not all angels sent forth as ministering spirits to minister to the heirs of salvation?"
(Psalm 34:4-9) "[4] I asked the Lord, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears, [5] and they looked up to thee, and they were clothed with light, and their faces shall never be ashamed. [6] And this wretched one cried out, and the Lord heard him, and delivered him out of all his troubles. [7] The angel of the Lord encamps round about those who fear the Lord, and delivers them. [8] Taste and know that the Lord is good, and blessed are those who take refuge in him. [9] Fear the Lord, ye saints, for he that feareth him lacketh nothing."
(Psalm 103:20-21) "[20] Bless the Lord, you angels who have power to fulfill the word of the Lord, and who hear the voice of the word, [21] and all you hosts of heaven who serve the Lord and do his will."
(Jeremiah 33:3) "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and will show thee great and mysterious things which thou knowest not."
(Psalm 19:1-4) "[1] The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament reveals the work of his hands, [2] and the day speaks to the day, and the night speaks knowledge to the night, [3] and there is no language, and there is no sound that can be heard, [4] but his voice goes through all the earth, and his word goes to the ends of the earth, and God has made a tabernacle in heaven for the sun."
(Ephesians 1:10) "That all things in heaven and on earth may be unified in Christ."
(Ephesians 1:6,12) "[6] that we may praise the glory of his grace, which is freely given to us in his beloved, [12] that we may be the praise of his glory, as we had hoped for in Christ."
(Ephesians 6:10-11) "[10] Finally, put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be strengthened in the Lord and in the power of his might, [11] and be able to resist the schemes of the devil."
(Psalm 91:2,3,10,11) "[2] I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, and the God in whom I trust, [3] for he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the pestilence of the excruciating pestilence, [10] and woe shall not come upon you, neither shall calamity come nigh your tent, [11] for he has commanded his angels for thee to guard thee in all thy ways."
(Psalm 121:5-8) "[5] The LORD is your keeper, and the LORD is your shadow at your right hand, [6] and the sun by day shall not hurt you, neither shall the moon by night hurt you. [7] The LORD will keep you from all trouble, and your soul will be guarded.
