Friends, in our lives many times we face different kinds of situations. Up & down, good and bad. And in the kind of critical situation. When we don’t know what to do and what not to do?
Honestly I suffered that kind of situation many times
We have bow down before God and ask Him for guidance. He gives me solution.
I am very sure many of you suffered that kind of situation. I suggest you that if you have hard time in your lives. Just come to Jesus
He has a solution and salvation for us. He is calling us.
Matthew 11 : 28
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Today in the scripture, disciple of Elisha had a very hard time and he rushed to his master Elisha.
2nd. Kings 6 : 5
As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax-head fell into
the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!”
Prophet Elisha gave him solution. Where we’ve to go for the solution of our calamities. We’ve to go to our Master Jesus for the solution and salvation. Jesus is our Master and the only way of solution.
John 14 : 6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Let’s learn what to do, when we do not know, what to do? Learn through prophet Elisha & his disciple.
Calamities jump in our lives suddenly.
Today, in the scripture disciples made a plan to built new Seminary or place to study cause the place where they were studying was too small and student were more. So disciple found new place. While they were preparing wooden rafters and beams. One of the Elisha’s disciple dropped his borrowed an ax-head accidently into the deep river.
2nd. Kings 6 : 5
As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax-head fell
into the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!”
Disciple of Elisha suddenly fall in a big disaster. In that Era ax head was very rare & costly. He did not understand what to do & what not do. Cause He borrowed that ax. He suppose to give back. He was too poor, unable to give back. Friends, sometimes same kinds of situation we face. We loss job, we got sick or family problem. We faced visa problem, co-worker problems, friends problems. Etc
Job 1 : 21 ~~~ and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
Friends, don’t complain in troubles just praise God as Job did & received double blessings Job 42:10
Elisha the teacher was with his disciples.
Here wonderful thing what we can see in the scripture. Disciples were not alone their teacher Elisha was with them. Disciples never tried to solve their trouble alone but teacher Elisha was with them.
2nd. Kings 6 : 3 ~ 4
Then one of them said, “Won’t you please come with your servants?” “I will,” Elisha replied.
And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees
Elisha was with them. So disciple reached to his master. If teacher would not there. Disciple never found the ax-head. If teacher was not their, maybe the disciple fall in big trouble but teacher saved him.
Remember the first miracle of Jesus. Jesus was in the wedding party that’s why water turned into wine.
John 2 : 2 ~~~ and Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding.
When there was thunder storm in the lake. Master Jesus was with His disciples and He saved them.
Matthew 8 : 26
He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then He got
up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
Always remember. Don’t do anything without our Master Jesus. When He’s with us no body can harm us
Disciple reached to his teacher (Master).
Here one more wonderful thing what we can see in the scripture. Disciple reached to his master for the help. Disciple did not trust in his skill or he didn’t seek the help of other student. He seek master.
2nd. Kings 6 : 5
As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax-head fell into
the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!”
Dear friends, in our desperation situations, calamities, sufferings, pains. Seek Jesus, He is calling us.
Matthew 7 : 7
Ask and it will be given to you, seek & you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.
Psalms 50 : 15 ~~~ and call on Me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you and you will honor Me.
Matthew 1 : 28 ~~~ Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Elisha used a piece of wood.
Here is more wonderful thing to learn. Elisha never jumped into water or he never said to other disciple to jump into water & discover the ax-head. But he used a piece of wood to discover ax-head.
The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him
the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float.
When prophet Elisha put wooden stick in a river. Then & there that iron ax-head floated on the water
Israelites were the in wilderness. They were thirsty & found bitter water. Piece of wood turned bitter into sweet
Exodus 15 : 25
Then Moses cried out to the Lord & the Lord showed him a piece of wood.
He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink.
Here piece of wood is symbolic thing. Anybody know the material of CROSS. Yes CROSS was made by wood. In our pains & sufferings put the cross of Jesus. Put Jesus in us. He will lift us up
1st. Peter 2 : 24
“He Himself bore our sins” in His body on the cross, so that we might die
to sins and live for righteousness; “by His wounds you have been healed
Elisha commanded the disciple to pick ax-head.
Last & final thing what we can discover in today’s scripture is Elisha never grab ax-head by himself but he commanded to the disciple who lost the ax-head to hold the ax-head from the water.
nd Kings 6 : 7 ~~~ “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it.
When Lazarus was in the grave. Jesus commanded the people to remove the stone & remove the stripes of Lazarus. Jesus just commanded and miracle happened. Jesus is same today.
John 11 : 39 & 44 (last portion)
“Take away the stone,” He said. ~~~ “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
Conclusion:- Always remember the meaning of Christian. Christ is all in all. Christ I am nothing
Acts 3:19 Repent, then, & turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
Acts 3:19 Repent, then, & turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
