아래 기사는 최근 시중의 찌라시들에 보도된 내용입니다.

그런데 영문 관련기사들을 찾아보니....

제목들의 영문법적 구조가 눈에 띄는군요.

갈매기가 문어에게 잡아 먹히는 장면이 캐나다에서 포착됐다.

3일(현지시각) 캐나다 CBC 뉴스는 빅토리아시의 명소 오그던 포인트 방파제에서 희귀한 장면이 펼쳐졌다고 보도했다. 갈매기가 문어와 사투를 벌이는 현장은 이 곳을 지나던 아마추어 사진작가 진저 모노에 의해 카메라에 담겼다.

Octopus attacks seagull

Ginger Morneau talks about the life-and-death struggle between a seagull and an octopus on the Ogden Point breakwater that she witnessed, and photographed.

s+v+o로 되어 있는 3형식 문장이로군요.

그렇다면 위 제목은 어떤 구조로 되어 있을까요?

eating(=먹고 있는=현재분사=형용사)

Octopus eating seagull = Octopus eats seagull=S+V+O

Octopus eating seagull 은 원래 Octopus eats seagull 을 

현재분사 eating을 활용하여 축약한 형태이지요.

결국 Octopus eating seagull =주어 부분

그렇다면  captured 가 본동사(과거형)일까요?

그렇게 생각한다면.....논리적으로 맞지 않지요.

왜냐면 문어가 사진을 찍을 수는 없는 일이니까요.

즉, 누군가 사람에 의해 사진을 찍혀져야만 하겠지요.

즉, 수동태 문장이 되어야만 할 것이라는 말이지요.

그것이 일상생활에서의 "논리"입니다.

따라서.... captured 는 과거형 본동사가 아니라

수동태형, 즉, 과거분사형 본동사가 되겠지요.

즉,  captured 앞에 수동태의 조동사 was 가 생략된 형태라는 말이지요.

영문기사 제목들에서는 그와같이 흔히 생략되거나 축약된 형태들이 많습니다.

그래도 영문구조를 아는 사람들에게는 하등 불편함도 없지요.

위 영문의 구조를 명확하게 이해할 수 있겠나요?

그런 정도의 실력들이 되어야 할텐데요.

that(접속사) every stage of the process(s) be(v) fully transparent and verifiable.

이런 구조로 생각되고, precede 와 be는 앞의 proviso가 당연히 받아 들여 져야 한 조건이라는 의미를 가져 should의 의미를 가져 원형으로 쓰였다고 봅니다.
** proviso: a condition that (must be accepted) in order for someone to agree to do something
