**How to prepare Sacrament of Reconciliation**

1. You have to think about what you have done. Examine your heart with .
2. Say sorry to God and others. Promise not to do again with God's help
3. Go to confession to the priest
4. Do your penance

TO START:
+ Priest ● Penitent

+ ● (make a sign of the cross) In the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit. Amen.

● Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned
My last confession was........
(How many days, weeks, months etc)
These are my sins................
These are all the sins that I remember and I include all the sins of my past life.

The priest will now talk to the Penitent. Listen to Him.
The Priest will invite you to say an Act of Contrition that you know, or say the following:

● ACT OF CONTRITION
My God, I am sorry for my sins with all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and
failing to do good, I have sinned against you whom I should love above all
things. I firmly intend, with your help, to do penance, to sin no more, and
to avoid whatever leads me to sin. Our Saviour Jesus Christ suffered and
died for us. In his name, my God have mercy.

+ FORM OF ABSOLUTION
God, the Father of mercies, through the death and resurrection of His Son has reconciled
the world to himself and sent the Holy Spirit among us for the forgiveness of sins.
Through the ministry of the Church, may God give you pardon and peace and
I ABSOLVE YOU FROM YOUR SINS, IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE
SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
● Amen.

+ The Lord has freed you from sin. May he bring you safely to his kingdom in heaven.
