world war 2
The greatest event the history have ever seen is the destructive, huge war started in Europe as known as the second world war whose indication could be found from the termination of the first world war.
After the Germans was defeated, the western allies made some unaffordable demands included in the Treaty of Versailles in the year 1919 with the intention of putting the Germans into the state of being beyond recovery which ,of course, resulted in the public fury of the 'arrogant' German citizens.
Seizing this opportunity, a man born to be a leader but not a good one comes to power. Adolf Hitler and his Nazi Party, a group of nationalists made their voice irritating the mind of the civilians claiming the rebound of the great German empire under Fascism.
Hitler having the belief that German race is superior over all others raises his army to restore the lost lands and to merge with Austria.
The unfortunate thing is that western allies only saw it as a process of recovery not Hitler's first step to spread his wings all over Europe. They showed this unnecessary polite attitude which gave confidence to Hitler that they will never gonna start a new war paying the same consequence again.
So overconfident, Hitler invades Czechoslovakia in 1939 while Britain was off guard counting on a piece of paper signed with Hitler's lies. Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister of Great Britain astonished starts to feel nervous and eventually when Hitler and Stalin together invaded Poland in september 1939, he immediately declares war against the Germans bringing in the famous Winston Churchill who was a hard liner.
Winston Churchill who has become the secretary of war wasn't so popular before the war but after the war, the evaluation about him turned over.
Despite the prime minister's expression of concern, secretary Churchill pushes on his plan, failing at Norway.
Thanks to Churchill's brilliant move, Chamberlain resigns in 1940 giving Churchill a chance to become the head of the war cabinet.
Although Churchill is mainly responsible for the defeat, he survives attributing the result to the prime minister, who dies shortly from his resignation and that is how once promising Chamberlain lost his ground.
Even though Chamberlain is still the least popular prime minister throughout history, he was never an incompetent man but can be said to be the one who has fallen for his one misjudgement. He was quite knowledgable in the field of economy so that he made some success in some policies regarding it which was viewed by the world and the citizens as the new hope of Britain.
Taking no firm action against Hitler, of course as we know, was a undeniable mistake though he was the one prepared the war considering war as the last option which means that actually he has done 'something'.
Honestly and objectively, Churchill who was accountable for the lost battle of Norway plated a big role on taking down the prime minister from his position avoiding from reprimand.
Interestingly, the next prime minister to lead the war was Winston Churchill.
