CARP Las Vegas Interfaith hike out
On November 5, 2016, representatives of Oasis, Muslim Students Association (MSA), and CARP Las Vegas went on an Interfaith hike out to Red Rock Canyons! The event was organized by Mrs. Susan Holden and Sara (president of MSA). They shared that their vision was for people of faiths to come together and enjoy God’s creation. Mrs. Holden shared that often people look down upon religion because they see it as divisive. She wanted this interfaith hike to bring hope to those people and show that we can come together even amongst different faiths. It was a beautiful hike along Red Springs trail. The sky was bright blue and the participants naturally mingled with each other. Some of us climbed up to a peak that overlooked much of the canyon. It was a 45 minute climb up, and 45 minute climb down; total of about an hour and a half. To end of our hike, we all went back to the campus, and enjoyed lunch over at the CARP Learning Center. We shared our gratitude towards each other and shared any upcoming events from each group. Overall, it was a very bonding time together, and surely a historic one.
