Les Bleus
Gilas
Boomers
Wolfpack
Tall Blacks
Giannis Antetokounmpo | SG | Greece
Omer Asik | C | Turkey
Gustavo Ayon | PF | Mexico
Nicolas Batum | SF | France
Andray Blatche | C | Phillipines
Anthony Davis | PF | USA
Matthew Dellavedova | SG | Australia
Antoine Diot | PG | France
Goran Dragic | SG | Slovenia
Dante Exum | PG | Australia
Kenneth Faried | PF | USA
Rudy Fernandez | SG | Spain
Marc Gasol | C | Spain
James Harden | SG | USA
Marcelo Huertas | PG | Brazil
Pooh Jeter | PG | Ukraine
Petteri Koponen | PG | Finland
Erik Murphy | PF | Finland
Kirk Penney | SG | New Zealand
Derrick Rose | PG | USA
Ricky Rubio | PG | Spain
Moon Tae-Jong | SF | South Korea
Milos Teodosic | PG | Serbia
Dario Saric | PF | Croatia
Jonas Valanciunas | C | Lithuania

The FIBA World Cup begins at four different sites around Spain on Saturday. While many eyes will be on Team USA and various NBA players representing other countries in the tournament, they won't be the only intriguing stories over the next two weeks.
Here are 25 players (in alphabetical order) you need to know in order to better follow and enjoy the FIBA World Cup over the next two weeks. You can watch all the games on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN3.
Giannis Antetokounmpo | SG | Greece
This is Antetokounmpo's first appearance with the Greece national team after receiving citizenship last June. Coach Fotis Katsikaris is in the process of rebuilding without the veterans who anchored this club for a decade. The Milwaukee Bucks' budding star, also known as "The Greek Freak," is heading toward 7 feet and won't turn 20 until December, so this World Cup experience is another opportunity for him to continue to blossom.
Omer Asik | C | Turkey
Asik is Turkey's only NBA player on the current roster, and "The 12 Giant Men" are not expected to get to the gold-medal game like they did in 2010. Early in the tournament, Asik will square off with future Pelicans teammate Anthony Davis. It's a preview of what should be one of the best frontcourt tandems in the NBA next season. It will be fun to see them go toe-to-toe in Pool C play.
Gustavo Ayon | PF | Mexico
The 6-foot-10 Ayon led Mexico to the surprising championship of the 2013 FIBA Americas Tournament (Team USA had already qualified for the FIBA World Cup by winning the 2012 Olympic Championship) and has something more to play for this time. Although he has played for four NBA teams, an injury-plagued past year with the Atlanta Hawks leaves him looking for a contract this upcoming season.
Nicolas Batum | SF | France
Batum has been part of the French national team since 2009 and has averaged double figures in points in the last four tournaments he played in for Les Bleus. But with Tony Parker sitting out the World Cup, and with a lot of NBA and international experience under his belt, Batum becomes the go-to scorer for coach Vincent Collet's team. It's a role that could be meaningful once thePortland Trail Blazers' season starts.
Andray Blatche | C | Phillipines
The Philippines naturalized Blatche, so he is eligible to play in this tournament. The Brooklyn Nets' free agent is currently without a contract, so he is hoping that a quality showing in the FIBA World Cup will spur some interest in him. He'll need to show something quickly because the Gilas are not expected to make it out of pool play.
Anthony Davis | PF | USA
Kevin Durant, during USA Basketball training camp in Las Vegas, anointed Davis as the next great NBA star. How ironic with Durant pulling out of the tournament, Davis' brilliance needs to come to the fore sooner rather than later. If the exhibition games are any indication, he looks to be ready for the role.
Matthew Dellavedova | SG | Australia
The San Antonio Spurs' Patty Mills will be sidelined for the World Cup with a shoulder injury, but the Boomers are fortunate to have the very crafty Dellavedova to run the team. TheCleveland Cavaliers' rookie played in the 2012 London Olympics and already has a ton of international experience.
Antoine Diot | PG | France
With Parker out, the 25-year-old Diot has a golden opportunity to show what he can do as Les Bleus playmaker. While not an NBA-level player yet, Diot has been a part of France's national team programs forever and should relish this chance.
Goran Dragic | SG | Slovenia
With the devastating injury to Lithuania's point guard, Mantas Kalnietis, suddenly Slovenia may be the favorite in Group D, especially if Dragic is at his best. The significance of a first-place finish in pool play would be a date with Team USA in the semifinals instead of the quarterfinals, and a chance to medal.
Dante Exum | PG | Australia
It remains to be seen how much the 19-year-old will play, but given that he went a year without seeing high-level competition, both he and the Utah Jazz, the team that drafted him No. 5 in June's NBA draft, should be ecstatic that he's getting extra game experience before the start of his rookie season. There is no one in this tournament who needs it more.
Kenneth Faried | PF | USA
From high school to the NBA, Faried has always had to prove himself. But it took about two practices in Las Vegas to see that he would be a key member of Team USA. While Davis has bulked up to 240 pounds, he still needs a bodyguard around the basket. Faried has filled that role nicely, so far.
Rudy Fernandez | SG | Spain
Fernandez picked up his ball and went back to Spain after four rocky seasons in the NBA. But make no mistake that the Real Madrid star could be a real thorn in the side of Team USA if they meet in the gold-medal game. His 22 points in 18 minutes in the 2008 Olympic gold-medal game was capped off with a vicious slam over Dwight Howard.
Marc Gasol | C | Spain
Though his brother Pau is more accomplished at this point, it is Marc who might be Spain's most important player. At 7-1, Marc Gasol is the best pure low-post scorer in this tournament, and much of the conversation about a Spain versus USA final revolves around his impact on that game.
James Harden | SG | USA
While Harden is one of the best players in the NBA, he was a role player on the 2012 Olympic gold-medal team. This is his first opportunity, internationally, to put Team USA on his back, especially offensively. Without his former teammate Kevin Durant around, the timing could not be better.
Marcelo Huertas | PG | Brazil
Brazil has an NBA front line with Néné, Tiago Splitter and Anderson Varejao rotating at two positions, but the key to its medal chances will be Huertas' play at the point. The closest thing to Steve Nash in European basketball, Huertas remains one of the best guards in Europe.
Pooh Jeter | PG | Ukraine
The former Sacramento Kings andPortland Pilots star is a naturalized citizen of the Ukraine (each country can carry one on its roster) and together with coach Mike Fratello, they have energized the country's basketball fan base. At 5-11, he is the mightiest of mites in this tournament.
Petteri Koponen | PG | Finland
The former first-round pick of thePhiladelphia 76ers in 2007 is currently property of the Dallas Mavericks, but he has spent his entire career in Europe so far. This year he will play in Russia. The 6-5 point guard can run a team and really shoot the ball. The Wolfpack have a legitimate chance to get out of pool play because of Koponen and, if they do, Mavs fans should start paying attention. He is just 26 years old.
Erik Murphy | PF | Finland
The Cavaliers' Murphy is Finnish on his mother's side. While his father, Jay, starred at Boston College and played four seasons in the NBA before heading overseas, Murphy's mother was a professional player on Finland's women's national team. That's pretty good bloodlines.
Kirk Penney | SG | New Zealand
Penny helped lead Wisconsin to the Final Four in 2000. He then represented the Tall Blacks in the 2002 FIBA World Championships in Indianapolis. Now, at 33, he is winding down a very productive career in Europe. He's lethal from behind the arc.
Derrick Rose | PG | USA
Everything Rose does in this FIBA World Cup, good or bad, will be scrutinized closely. How much he plays and how much he contributes is still a question. Expect Rose to play himself back into game shape during Pool C play and hit his stride during the knockout round.
Ricky Rubio | PG | Spain
Spain is loaded with guards, and Rubio is certainly not its most productive. But withKevin Love leaving for the Cavs, Ricky has become the face of the Minnesota Timberwolves' franchise. This tournament would be a perfect jump-start to his fourth season in the NBA, and Minnesota could desperately use it.
Moon Tae-Jong | SF | South Korea
Tae-Jong is a former Richmond Spider, born Jarod Stevenson, who was the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year in 1998. After playing around the world, Tae-Jong was given South Korean citizenship in 2011 because his mother is Korean-American. Not only is he one of Korea's best players, but he might be surprisingly familiar to those who follow college basketball closely.
Milos Teodosic | PG | Serbia
The 27-year-old point guard Teodosic has accomplished nearly everything possible in Europe, including the Euroleague MVP in 2010. While many believe he could star in the NBA, it's unlikely that we will ever see him play there. Instead, leading Serbia deep in this tournament would give basketball fans a chance to enjoy watching him play.
Dario Saric | PF | Croatia
Saric, who was the No. 12 pick in this year's NBA draft, will use the FIBA World Cup as another opportunity to prepare for his eventual move to the NBA. After a solid performance in the 2013 EuroBasket Tournament, the 6-10, 20-year-old has become one of his country's most important players.
Jonas Valanciunas | C | Lithuania
The 7-foot Valanciunas is just 22 years old and could be an NBA All-Star one day. Right now, he must be the anchor of a Lithuanian team that lost its point guard for the tournament because of an injury. A couple of dominating performances in the exhibition games give his team hope.
