On his way to Mount Gamram after dinner, Jesus makes a prophecy to his disciples. It is said that all of the disciples will abandon Jesus just as the sheep scatter if the shepherd is beaten. Why did Jesus suddenly say this when he knew that his disciples were betraying him? What is Jesus' attitude toward his disciples?

God promised a new covenant to Israel, the people of the Covenant who broke it, and it contains sin and a new relationship. A contract of blood is needed because a covenant is a life-threatening relationship. Jesus refers to his death as a channel for solving sin problems and blood to shed when signing a new covenant.

He teaches that the Old Testament promises to be the Messiah, and that the killing he will now be a channel of salvation. The disciples did not understand and were afraid to understand, but after the resurrection, these teachings became the foundation for understanding Jesus' identity and ministry. He makes two prophecies to the disciples as he travels to Gethsemane.
-
One is that the disciples run away from their arrest, and the other is that they will come back to life and go to Galilee. At first glance, it seems that Jesus' focus is on the prophecy beforehand, and the purpose is to warn the disciples about the upcoming events. But the real purpose is the prophecy afterwards. The implication is that Jesus' death and the disciples' escape are not the end.

It is a promise that Jesus, who will be resurrected, will restore and give newness to his runaway disciples. Jesus said this is an expression of his will to still love despite their failures. As in the case of Judah, it is proof that Jesus loves his disciples to the end, following the heart of God, who loves sinners. Specifically, telling Peter that he will deny it three times is not to reprimand him, but to bring him back to remembering Jesus' words after that day.
-
Jesus' expression of love for each person is different. In Jesus' prophecy, the disciples affirm that it will not happen. But they had to remember Jesus' ability to predict. If you have experienced the fulfillment of his prophecy in the past, you should have thought that it is possible now. But they did not. This is because blind faith in his current situation prevented him from making correct judgments.
-
Knowing their subsequent consequences, we must be careful by taking lessons from the discipleship. That is the humility of acknowledging that Jesus' words are true and not overconfident with our determination and hard work. What should we do now between betrayal and overconfidence? How can we live by experiencing the grace of the word?

장차 주님이 주시는 영광의 만찬에 참여하기까지 주님과 동행하게 하옵소서. the bread of the Passover, the wine of the new covenant, O Lord, I confess that I am Peter. Pity me for your loss. Like another start, isn't the parting an encounter?
The last supper is a sign of a new dinner, as the parting with the Lord foreshadows the encounter of Jesus, who I have failed to May you break up with me and meet the Lord anew. Give me all my things and trust me to serve others. May the Lord accompany you until you participate in the dinner of glory.
