One autumn day in London, two boys were born in the same year, in the same time, Tom Candy and Edward Tudor.
The Cantys were very poor but Todors were very rich and powerful, and all England welcomed the birth of Edward Tudor.
Tom's father was a thief and he was always drunk. However, Tom spent much of his time listening Father Andrew's old tales
about kings and princes. He also learned some Latin from the Father Andrew. Tom grew his admiration toward the prince.
One day, Tom went to the Charing Village where the palace was. There he saw the prince, Edward. Tom wanted to look
closely. When he went to Edward closely the cordinal hit Tom. Edward saw Tom got hitting by cordinal so, Edward brought Tom to his palace and gave some food to eat. When Edward talked with Tom, he got some interest about Tom's life. They tried to exchange their clothes. Edward who wore rag cloth went out for a walk and cordinal thought he was Tom. The cordinal let Edward go away from the palace. Edward, who didn't know where to go just keep on walking and he met John, the father of
Tom. Edward told John that he was the prince but, Tom was called to king Henry, Edward's father. King Henry was sick and lie down on his bed. Tom told to king Henry that he is not a prince. Everyone in the palace said that the price is mad. After few days, king Henry died and the coronation of the new king was held. Edward also heard that his father died and he mourned for his father. With Miles' help Edward could escape from Cantys family and went to the coronation. When Edward arrived he shouted to the people that 'I am the real Prince.' and To, also accepted that he was not a prince. Fortunately, Edward could be the new king for England. Edward after he became a king he made new rules for the poors.
The lesson that this book is giving to the readers is that 'The people who are rich should share their things to the poors.'
or 'Help each other' Living this time, this problem is also one of our issue in our society. In Korea, there is one proverbs that 'Gold spoon, Sliver spoon, and soil spoon' It means that the one whose father is rich, then he will be rich. The one who is poor, his son will be poor. It's because money just go round and round to the rich. When they give birth to their children, their children can get everything that they want without any effort. For poors, if they give birth to their children, their children will be poor just same with their parents. However, I never think that poor people are pityful. I think poors can learn more precious lessons in our lives than rich people. For the people who are rich they don't have much experience to achieve goal with only
their efforts because money can make them solve their problems. But, for the people who are poor they learn naturally how to get their goal with only their efforts from when they are still young. Maybe it's the one example. I think even in any situation, I must be satisfied with what I have and giving thanks to God is important.
