Yorkville has a very fashionable reputation and is the home of many luxury brands’ flagship stores. The area has many options for exclusive American and European brands, however there’s more to the area than Gucci, Prada and Hermes. Here are our top picks on where to visit for a high-end shopping spree.
Bloor Street
The stretch of Bloor Street between Yonge Street and Avenue Road is home to many of the world’s most recognized brands. If you have a taste for luxury, you can shop (or window shop, depending on your budget) at the classic boutiques like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Burberry, MaxMara and Escada. If you’re looking for jewelry, visit Tiffany & Co., Birk’s and Cartier. Shopping on a budget? Stop into Winners, where you can find a large selection of discounted luxury goods. While you’re shopping, be sure to visit one of the many Canadian brands that have locations along Bloor Street, including Lululemon,Roots and Aritzia.
Holt Renfrew
If you’re looking for shoes, cosmetics, evening gowns, perfumes and furs all in one place, then Holt’s is the place to go! The high-end department store, synonymous with luxury shopping, is located at 50 Bloor Street West. In addition to its vast array of fashion and luxury brands, Holt’s offers many services including a salon and spa, complimentary alterations, personal shopping, a café, a concierge and valet parking.
Yorkville Avenue
The street that gave the neighbourhood its name, Yorkville Avenue boasts a wide array of shops, from international brands to local boutiques, from luxury goods to groceries. You could spend hours visiting all of the shops located on Yorkville, but check out a few of our favourites. Pusateri’s, located at 57 Yorkville Avenue, is the place to go for delicious food that you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home. With pastries, cheeses, fish, meats and a prepared foods counter, Pusateri’s will have something to satisfy your appetite. Need a new pair of designer denim? Cross the street to Over the Rainbow, where friendly staff will help you find your perfect fit from over 30 brands. If you get tuckered out during your shop-a-thon, grab an espresso from Zaza Espresso Bar. Try to nab a seat in the window so you can watch the passersby as you sip on your espresso or cappuccino.
Hazelton Lanes
Tucked away at 87 Avenue Road are the Shops at Hazelton Lanes, where you can find over 60 boutiques that offer products and services ranging from fashion to furniture, furs and wines. If you’re feeling hungry during your shopping spree, grab a bite to eat at the hot food stations in Whole Foods on the lower level. Recently renovated, you’ll be able to peruse a large selection of natural, organic products; a treat for the organic chef.
