Subject: Entrepreneurship program now open to "IDP level"
students
Dear Partner,
I hope you are doing well!
I would like to let you know that our
Entrepreneurship Certificate Program is now open to all levels of students.
Previously, the program was only available to our FSBE group of students who
are traditionally younger students with no work experience and at least 2 years
of university completed. Starting with the fall 2014 term we are opening the
program to "IDP level" students. This means students with advanced
degrees and work experience can now apply.
This program is a great new option for
students with work experience considering an International Diploma Program. We
are looking for students from diverse backgrounds who are considering starting
a new business or taking over an existing business. The next opportunity for
students to begin the Entrepreneurship program is the fall 2014 term which
begins on September 2nd of this year. The application deadline is July
28th. Below is a message from the program adviser:
“The Entrepreneurship Program is now in its
third year and has been very successful among students who are considering
starting or running a business. It offers rigorous coursework and practical
experience with all aspects of how to launch a business, work in a start-up
environment or manage a family-owned or other small business. The courses range
from leadership and opportunity recognition to building a business plan, social
media marketing and web platform development. You will also understand finance,
business development and how to pitch your business to investors. You will have
the opportunity to visit Silicon Valley to understand how the start-up industry
operates and build a valuable network among institutions that support small
business development whether in the high-tech or more traditional business
sectors. You also have the option to intern in the spring with a small or large
business, investor or business development institution.”
More information about the courses included
in the Entrerpeneurship program can be found here: http://extension.berkeley.edu/static/international/fsbe/entrepreneurship/
Please contact me if you have a student who
might be a good fit for this program. I'm happy to help with any
questions.
Kind regards,
Ms. Brooklynn Adams
