If you're visiting Korea, you've likely heard about this month's most talked-about event. The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit is currently taking place in the city of Gyeongju in North Gyeongsang Province, once the heart of the ancient Silla Dynasty. The city is known to be a "museum without walls," where history meets modern life.

The 10-won bread is inspired by the Dabotap pagoda in Gyeongju, featured on the 10 won coin first issued by the Bank of Korea in 1966.

To guard against foreign attackers, King Munmu requested that he be buried in the East Sea so he could protect the country as a dragon. His unusual watery grave lies just off the coast of Gyeongju.

Starry nights light up Cheomseongdae, which is said to be the oldest astronomical observatory in East Asia. Built during the Silla period, it is a cylindrical building constructed with 362 granite stones.

동아시아에서 가장 오래된 천문대로 알려진 첨성대는 밤하늘에 별빛을 수놓는다. 신라 시대에 지어진 이 건물은 362개의 화강암으로 지어진 원통형 건물이다.

You can also take a stroll through Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, secondary palaces of the Silla Kingdom.

5. Stroll through Daereungwon Tomb Complex and try this unique "️face bread"

These "eolgul-ppang," are a variety of bread shaped to resemble famous artefacts from Gyeongju’s history. The first, shaped like a bodhisattva head, is inspired by Seokguram, an artificial grotto and UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the home of one of Korea's most famous Buddhist statues. The second is based on the "Smile of Silla," a human face carved on a roof-end tile from the Three Kingdoms Period and a national treasure.

이 "얼굴빵"은 경주 역사의 유명한 유물을 본떠 만든 다양한 빵이다. 첫 번째 얼굴빵은 보살의 머리 모양으로, 한국에서 가장 유명한 불상 중 하나가 있는 인공 동굴이자 유네스코 세계문화유산인 석굴암에서 영감을 받았다. 두 번째 얼굴빵은 삼국시대 기와에 새겨진 사람 얼굴인 국보 "신라의 미소"를 모티브로 했다.
