3rd Sunday of the Lent ’ CLk 13, 1-9. Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ!In today’s liturgy of the word we come across the following main points to reflect upon: 1.God is merciful and compassionate:                  We have heard in today’s first reading how Moses encountered with God. God took the initiatve to reveal himself to Moses. God chooses Moses to bring back the Israelites from the slavery of Egyptians. God said to Moses, „ I have witnessed the afflicton of my people in Egypt and have heard their cry of complainst against their slave drivers, so I know well what they are suffering. Therefore I have comedown to rescue them from the hands of the Egyptians and lead them out of that land in to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with mild and honey.”  Ex 3, 7-8.God hears the cry of Isralites. God is anxious for his people. He wants to set them free. So he calls Moses to go for this commendeble job set before him. When His people suffer God also suffers for them. He feels sorry for them because he is merciful and compassionate. He can not forget or ubandant His own chosen people. The unending love of God is seen clearly. God can take any step for his people when they look for Him and His help. 2. Jesus the Vinedresser and mediator In today’s gosple reading we hear that Jesus trying to differentiate the sin and the consequesnce of sinful life. Secondly the human made bad things and the natural calamities do happen which can not be labled with God’s punishment for being sinful. Physical death is not the ultimate outcome of sinful life. Meaning to say not those who die, die because of sinful life. There could be some other reasons.  God does not take pride when His children die in sinfulness. 3. A call to „Repent and believe in the Gospel” In the parable of the fig tree, Jesus sites that the owner comes to the fig tree looking for friutes on the tree continous for three years. He found nothing. Therefore he asks the gardener to cut it and throw it, because it did not deserve to be kept any more without the friuts on it. The gardener request the owner to give one more year so that he can dig around it, manure it and water it by taking care completly. Then if not he can cut the tree. “And this vinedresser’s likeness manifests the mercy of God who leaves us time for conversion. We all need to convert ourselves, to take a step forward; and God’s patience and mercy accompanies us in this. Despite the barrenness that marks our lives at times, God is patient and offers us the possibility to change and make progress on the path towards good”- said pope Francis. “If you do not repent, you will all perish as they did!” What Jesus said to everyone is particularly addressed today to us, his disciples. As a matter of fact, not just for the fig tree, but for any barren tree, there will be a tragic end: “Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire” (Mt 7:19), as Jesus stated on another occasion. God the father and Jesus are compassionate and they give us enough opportunities to repent and believe in the gospel. Lenten season is time for reforming our life. Beginning a new journey with renewed mind and heart to come closer to gracious God. Prayer: God the Father of mercy and compassionate, have pity on  your children whenever we fall in to sin and temptation. come to rescue us when we can not set free ourselves. Show us your love to your beloved children that we may love you more and more. Amen. 사순 제3주일 (루카복음13, 1-9) 사랑하는 형제자매 여러분, 오늘의 말씀 안에서 우리는 다음과 같은 사항을 숙고해야 함을 알려줍니다. 1.자비로우신 하느님 오늘의 제 1독서에서는 모세와 하느님의 만남에 대해 알려줍니다. 하느님은 모세에게 자신을 드러내시며 모세를 통해 이집트인들의 노예로 살고있는 이스라엘 사람들을 구출 시킵니다. 하느님께서 모세에게 말씀하셨습니다. ” 나는 이집트에 있는 내 백성이 겪는 고난을 똑똑히 보았고, 작업 감독들 때문에 울부짖는 그들의 소리를 들었다. 정녕 나는 그들의 고통을 알고 있다. 그래서 내가 그들을 이집트인들의 손에서 구하여, 그 땅에서 저 좋고 넓은 땅, 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅, 곧 가나안족과 히타이트 족과 아모리족과 프리즈족과 히위족과 여부족이 사는 곳으로 데리고 올라가려고 내려왔다. ” (탈출기 3,7-8.) 하느님은 이스라엘 백성의 울부짖음을 들으십니다. 하느님은 그의 백성을 염려하십니다. 하느님은 그들을 자유롭게 하기를 원하십니다. 그래서 하느님은 모세에게 사명을 요구하십니다. 하느님께서는 그의 백성이 고통을 받을 때, 그분도 고통을 받으십니다. 자비로우신 하느님은 그의 백성들을 불쌍히 여기십니다. 그는 자신이 택한 백성을 잊거나 버리시지 않습니다. 하느님은 끝없이 사랑하십니다. 그분을 찾고 도움을 구할때, 하느님은 그의 백성들을 위해 도와주십니다. 2. 포도밭 주인, 중재자 예수그리스도 예수님께서는 오늘 복음에서 죄와 우리 삶에서 일어나는 죄의 모습들을 구별하십니다. 그리고, 인간이 저지른 죄악과 자연재해가 발생하는 것이 하느님의 형벌이라고 규정할 수 없다고 하십니다. 육신의 죽음이 죄 지은 삶에 대한 결과가 아닙니다. 죄를 지었기 때문에 죽는다는 뜻이 아니다 라고 말하는 것입니다. 다른 이유도 있을 수 있습니다. 하느님은 그분의 자녀들이 죄악 속에서 죽는 것을 원하지 않으십니다. 3. 회개하고 복음을 믿어라. 무화과 나무의 비유에서, 예수님은 한 주인이 무화과 나무에 열매가 맺혔는지 3년 동안 계 속해서 찾으러 왔다고 언급합니다. 그러나 그는 아무것도 찾지 못했습니다. 그래서 그는 일 꾼에게 그것을 잘라 버리라고 요청합니다. 왜냐하면 열매없이 계속해서 살려둘 가치가 없었기 때문입니다. 일꾼은 주인에게 1년을 더 달라고 요청해, 그가 나무 주변을 파서 거름을 주고, 물을 주며, 완벽하게 관리하도록 했습니다. 그렇지 않으면 나무를 베어야 했기 때문입니다. 이 일꾼의 모습은 우리에게 회개할 시간을 주시는 하느님의 자비를 나타냅니다. 우리 모두는 한 걸음 더 나아가기 위해 회개해야 합니다. 이런 우리를 위해 하느님은 인내하시고 자비를 베풀어 주시며 우리 곁에 함께하고 계십니다. 프란치스코 교황님은 " 때때로 우리의 삶이 메말라지더라도 하느님께서는 인내심을 가지고 우리가 선을 향한 길로 나아갈 수 있도록 변화시키고 발전시킬 수 있는 가능성을 주십니다." 라고 말씀 하셨습니다 예수님께서 모든 사람에게 말씀하셨듯이, 오늘날의 제자들인 우리들에게도 전해집니다 “ 회개하지 않으면 멸망할 것이다.” 예수님의 또다른 말씀인, “ 좋은 열매를 맺지 않는 나무는 모두 잘려 불에 던져진다. “(마태오7:19) 라고 하셨듯이 사실, 그 무화과 나무뿐만 아니라 세상의 모든 척박한 나무는 세상에서 뽑히거나 잘려질 그런 비극적인 순간이 있을 것입니다. 하느님 아버지와 예수님은 자비로우시며 우리에게 회개하고 복음을 믿을 수 있는 충분한 기회를 주셨습니다. 사순절은 우리가 참회해야 할 시기입니다. 하느님께 더 가까이 다가가기 위해 새로운 마음으로 새로운 여정을 시작합시다. 기도합시다. 자비로운신 하느님 아버지, 저희가 죄와 유혹에 빠질 때마다 저희를 불쌍히 여기소서. 우리 스스로 자유로울 수 없을 때 저희를 구하러 오소서. 사랑하는 자녀들에게 당신의 사랑을 보여 주시어, 저희가 당신을 더 깊이 사랑하게 하소서. 아멘.
