조지 엘든 래드
복음주의 신학의 중심 인물인 조지 래드는 미국 캘리포니아 주 파사데나에 있는 풀러신학교의 신약학 교수로 재직하였다. 성경의 중심축이며 예수가 전한 말씀의 핵심인 하나님 나라에 대한 그의 탁월한 해석이 현 교회에 미친 영향은 매우 지대하다. 하나님 나라와 관련된 그의 저서로는 「하나님 나라에 관한 중요한 질문들」, 「미래의 현존」,등이 있다. 그외 「축복받은 소망」,「신약과 비평」, 「요한계시록 주석」과「신약 신학」등을 저술하였다.

Biographical summaryLadd converted to Christianity in 1929 after hearing a young graduate of Gordon College preach in his Methodist church. In 1933 he was ordained in the Northern Baptist Convention (now American Baptist) and pastored three congregations.[1] While pastoring at the last congregation, Ladd taught at both Gordon College and the Divinity school.[2] He later received a Bachelor of Theology from Gordon College (1933) and attended Gordon Divinity School where he received a Bachelor of Divinity (1942). Ladd then spent two years at Boston University before enrolling at Harvard where he was supervised by Henry J. Cadbury and received his PhD in Biblical and Patristic Greek in 1949.[3] He joined the faculty of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA in 1950 where he remained for the final thirty years of his academic career. Ladd had a stroke in 1980, and died in 1982. Ladd "was arguably the most important New Testament scholar of the post-war evangelical resurgence in North America."[4] TheologyLadd was one of the more notable modern proponents of Historic Premillennialism. He argued for this position in The Meaning of the Millennium: Four Views, R. G. Clouse, editor (Downers Grove: InterVarsity Press, 1977). Selected publications

George Eldon Ladd (1911?1982) was a Baptist minister and professor of New Testament exegesis and theology at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. Ladd was ordained in 1933 and pastored in New England from 1936 to 1945. He served as an instructor at Gordon College of Theology and Missions (now Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary), Wenham, Massachusetts from 1942?45. He was an associate professor of New Testament and Greek from 1946?50, and head of the department of New Testament from 1946?49. In 1950?52 he was an associate professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, Calif, becoming professor of biblical theology in 1952. Ladd's best-known work, A Theology of the New Testament, has been used by thousands of seminary students since its publication in 1974. This work was enhanced and updated by Donald A. Hagner in 1993. Ladd was a notable, modern proponent of Historic Premillennialism, and often criticized dispensationalist views. His writings regarding the Kingdom of God have become a cornerstone of Kingdom theology. His perspective is expressed in The Meaning of the Millennium: Four Views, R. G.
