이안 머리

1931년 영국 랑카셔에서 출생해 더람대학교에서 수학했으며,

로이드 존스에게 청교도와 부흥신학에 해박한 장래가 촉망되는 인재로 발탁되어

1956~1959년까지 웨스트민스터 교회에서 로이드 존스를 도와 사역하기도 했고,

이후 런던과 시드니에서 10여년 목회를 하기도 했다.그의 가장 중요한 사역 혹은

업적이라면 1957년 잭쿨럼과 함꼐 진리의 깃발사( The Banner of Truth Trust)를 공동 설립하여,

개혁 및 청교도 신학과 부흥 신학을 중흥시킨 점을 들 수 있다.

또한 그는 20세기 최고의 전기작가이자 부흥 신학자로서 로이드 존스 (20세기),

아더 핑크 (20세기), 존 머레이 (20세기), 찰스 스펄전 (19세기), 조나단 에드워즈 (18세기)등의

여러 영적 거인들에 대한 전기를 집필했으며, 또한 「부흥과 부흥주의 (Revival and Revivalism」,

「오래된 복음주의」, 「성경적 부흥관 바로세우기」등의 청교도와 부흥에 관련된 저서들을 집필했다.

Iain Hamish Murray (b. 1931; Lancashire, England) was educated in the Isle of Man and at the University of Durham. He entered the Christian ministry in 1955. He served as assistant to Martyn Lloyd-Jones at Westminster Chapel (1956-59) and subsequently at Grove Chapel, London (1961-69) and St. Giles Presbyterian Church, Sydney, Australia, (1981-84). In 1957 he and Jack Cullum founded the Reformed publishing house, the Banner of Truth Trust, where he has periodically worked full-time and remains the Editorial Director.
