Acknowledging
the Authority of Jesus christ
1.
His Authority
Questioned (Mt.21:23-27)
23 By what
authority are you doing these things?
27 I will not
tell you by what authority I am doing these things.
Because His
authority was not given by man, but came from the Father. (28:18)
(22:16)
So he was not swayed by men because he paid no attention to what they are.

(Proverbs 3:6)
2.
Keeping Ourselves
Available to Him (21:1-11)
You will find a
donkey with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me.
He did not ask
the owner’s permission because
everything belongs to Him.
See if you are
tied up to a certain thing: any man, possessions, work, ambition or habit
(10:37-39) "Anyone who loves
his father or
mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter
more than me is not worthy of me; and
anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever
finds his life will
lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will
find it.
(Heb.12:1) Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that
hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance
the race marked out for us
3.
Keeping Ourselves
Fruitful for Him (21:18-22) (21:33-46)
Found nothing on
it except leaves.
Not only leaves
but also fruit
Not only
activities but also products
Do not steal God’s.
(22:21)
Give to God what is God’s.
4.
Surrendering our wills
to His (21:28-32)
As Jesus did, “Not as I will but as you will” (26:39)
Not only good
will but also following actions
(James 4:13-15)
