What Have You Really Learned?

Black Belt Testing in Haedong Kumdo, no matter the city or province always provides me with an opportunity to speak to all the students, instructors and masters present. At such times, I like to discuss ways of helping them improve their lives. With the passing of time, most of those students, instructors and masters have experienced many different things through their training in Haedong Kumdo.
Of those who have had experience in Haedong Kumdo, I must now ask three simple questions –
‘what have you really learned?’,
‘how have you prepared for the next step?’,
and ‘what are you going to do for your own self development?’.
I want everyone to know exactly what we need to do in our lives to make this step, to develop ourselves.
Wherever we go,
when we meat a good person,
we come away feeling good.
When we meat a great person
we come away feeling refreshed,
but when we meet really great person,
they can free us from the shackles of the drudgery of life.
If you are fortunate enough to meet an Enlightened Being,
a truly exceptional individual then suddenly,
all those things which make you feel uncomfortable, vanish.
Through them, we can become truly free, and our energy renewed.
This is a most common principle of The Nature.
I spoke with several people after the Black Belt Test of the 10th of October,
and asked them the question,
‘why do we have to do the right thing in our lives?
What is it that made me what I am?’
What I am, or what I show, is just like a Report Card, or a Score Card of my life.
If I am not sick, or if I am not in any pain,
it is because I have acted well, so far.
Conversely,
if I have no money right now, or if I am having difficulty in my life,
it is because of what I have done before.
The Nature does not make exceptions for anyone, and the response is severe.
However, the Nature has Endless Love and Infinite Energy.
I stressed this point at the 2009 World Haedong Kumdo Championships and I will do all I can to help as many people as I can to heighten and strengthen their self consciousness so that they can Live Well within the Nature.
I wish you will positive thoughts and I hope that you will all get along well with each other.
Please, do your best to realise self consciousness at all times,
and always, think outside the box!
Haedong !!
