※ Bible: 2 Corinthians 1:1-11.
※ Title: He wants to live comfortably.
I love and respect you for coming to Daeso Church, which has become the body of the Lord, in the midst of the heat wave. And I appreciate it. I bless you in the name of the Lord, who has a lot of love for you to watch and bless you.
Today, I'd like to say this with the title, “He wants to live comfortably.” Yes, if a saint believes in Jesus as a Savior, he believes that no matter what anyone says, he is the son of God and the daughters of God. It's not just ordinary people. Therefore, Peter, the apostle, said to us who believe in Jesus in 1 Peter 2:9 <But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God......>
Therefore, I believe that the mission of Christians is to live comfortably in this world where they want to be comforted. I chose the title as I heard it.
I'm thinking of telling a funny story. When I was young, men got married when they were 25. But I couldn't get married even when I turned 27. I was rather worried.
But around that time, a pimple popped up on my forehead. My friend Choi Myung-hun, a preacher, comforted me. When you get pimples on your cheeks, you have a crush on a woman because you like her, and when you get them on your forehead, a woman likes you. So I took that word for it.
Since then, I have regarded pimples on my forehead as treasures. When no one was around, I stroked my pimples and got swollen. But strangely enough, really! The matchmaking came through our deaconess. I got to see the line. I'm a 23-year-old girl who runs a tailor's shop, and I'm wearing a dress with a tape measure in my hand.
He looked like an angel at first sight. So I said I was going to get engaged on the first Monday of next month and get married on November 16th, and he followed me gently like a gentle sheep. I bought a book of praise from Geum Bak-sung, got engaged on the first Monday of the following month, and met at Cheongju Central Park every first week of every month, ate a bowl of mussels and broke up.
And as promised, we got married on November 16th, and we are living well consoling each other until today. I still appreciate the consolation of my friend Choi Myung-hun. Yes, Christians are called children of God. Therefore, I believe that the man in Jesus' heart has God's DNA in his life. Therefore, the DNA of comfort flows.
So in a way, he's a bit nosy. My nose is 100 characters, but I can't let it go when I see the weak. I can't put it in my pocket. A few days ago, I was praying at dawn and the Holy Spirit came to my heart to comfort my people. So I looked it up in the Bible and it was Isaiah 40:1.
I'll read it for you. She said <Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.> So I came back home and read the text and decided on the title of the word [Consoling and Living]. And I prayed. Lord, who am I supposed to console? Actually, I want to be comforted.
I said, "It's so hard." I know. He said that there is no one in the world who doesn't need comfort. The president of the university, the president of the country, and the pastor of the large church all need comfort. Therefore, you said to comfort no matter what you do or who you meet.
Therefore, you are my partner. Brothers of faith. So I want you to comfort someone while you live this week. Anyone is fine. Children who are tired of studying, parents who are tired of the heat, neighbors who are sick in bed, and neighbors who are suffering from corona are good. Obedient? I believe there will be a great reward to be reckoned with.
Who should I console? How can I comfort you? I hope you look for it while praying. I believe we will meet again. I believe the Holy Spirit will help. Now I'm going to receive your kindness by reading the text you gave us today. I hope the Holy Spirit will help us.
● 2 Corinthians 1:1-2. He says <(1) Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God in Corinth, together with all the saints throughout Achaia:(2) Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.>
Yes, a saint must, in any case, have a clear identity in any circumstances. Paul is clarifying his identity by saying, "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,...." I believe that a person with a clear identity can overcome everything.
Paul therefore introduces his party in 2 Corinthians 6:8-10. Say <(8) through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; (9) known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; (10) sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.>.
And he says "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,...." and then he says “To the church of God in Corinth, together with all the saints throughout Achaia:Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.“
Yes, a man with a great wish is a great man. A man whose wish is evil is evil. But Paul, the apostle, says to the Church of God in Corinth and all the saints in All Agatha, ”Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.“
What a wonderful wish? I'm really jealous. Therefore, I believe you should have a good wish. But it doesn't work out the way we want it either. I believe that I can have a good wish only when the Holy Spirit helps me. In the Bible, the Lord often tells you to do as you wish.
But in Acts 23:12-15 of the Apostles, there were those who had evil wishes. Say <(12) The next morning the Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. (13) More than forty men were involved in this plot. (14) They went to the chief priests and elders and said, "We have taken a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul. (15) Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him before you on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about his case. We are ready to kill him before he gets here.">
But their plans are revealed and revealed to the world and eventually they go under. Yes, the world doesn't go my way. I believe it goes the way of the Lord. Therefore, I bless in the name of the Lord that you may have a good wish in your eyes and in your neighbors' eyes.
● 2 Corinthians 1:3-4. He says <(3) Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, (4) who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.>
Amen! That's right. Because God is the right God to be praised. Because he is the God of comfort. That's right. Just thinking about God gives me strength and comfort. It's a trend to hug or carry a dog around Yosai. I don't know why. A boy named Tom came into the store that sells dogs to buy them.
The owner brought some puppies and showed them to Tom. I showed you a dog with a pretty color and a cute dog. But Tom wasn't interested in the puppies his owner showed him, and he got up and pointed at the dog squatting in the corner with a leg injury and said, "I'll buy that dog."
It was unexpected for the owner. "The dog can't be friends with you! "I can't run around with you because I'm limping." At this time, Tom said this. "But this dog needs a friend who can understand him." The owner gave the dog to the boy, thinking weirdly about the words that he was not a boy at all.
However, the owner could understand what Tom had just heard when he saw the boy leaving with a lame puppy after paying. This boy, Tom, was walking with a limp. "This dog may need a friend who can understand him." This was because the boy himself experienced the pain of not being able to run and the loneliness of not being able to run. So the boy became a man who could not be indifferent to the pain of his neighbor and later led the world's human nation, America. Yes, the world is full of people who need comfort. Therefore, I bless in the name of the Lord that you may live this week and be a person who comforts someone. If you do so, I believe you will experience the amazing love of God.
● 2 Corinthians 1:6-7. He says <(6) If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. (7) And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.>
Yes, I believe that the saints who participated in the Lord's suffering are saints. Therefore, whenever they look at the cross, they are comforted and whenever they think of the cross. I believe they are gracious people. When I have a hard time, I look at the cross and cheer up. When something good happens, I look at the cross and thank you.
Therefore, the cross is like life to me. Therefore, I look at it every day and think about it every day. And comfort to me. Therefore, I invite you today with the grace of the cross. The cross is God's invitation to man. The cross was the most shameful and terrifying sentence frame and instrument of death. So it has been shunned by people because it is considered a symbol of shame and curse.
But after Jesus died on this cross and was resurrected, the cross turned into a symbol of eternal life, glory and salvation, not a symbol of shame, curse, and death. Therefore, Paul also said in 1 Corinthians 1:18 <For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.>.
Yes, the cross is a turning point in transforming the old into a new one. If you look at the cross without thinking, it is a simple two-bar pillar, but I believe that the cross Jesus ran on is the pride of Christians and the goal. Therefore, I bless in the name of the Lord that the power of the cross may renew you today.
● 2 Corinthians 1:8-9. He says, <(8) We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. (9) Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.>
It's a pleasure to rely on God. I am indebted to Martin Luther (1483-1546), who sings the hymn 585 chapter that he composed himself in extreme crisis. And it gives me strength. They say it's <2. Did we in our own strength con-fide, Our striv-ing would be los – ing; Were not the right Man on our side, The Man of God's own choos – ing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Je-sus, it is He, Lord Sab-a-oth His Name, From age to age the same, And He must win the bat – tle.>
Yes, I believe that the Lord does not leave us alone. Therefore, I believe that you hold the weak with your strong hands. Martin Luther (1483-1546) praises this as he walks alone on the path of death.
<1. A might-y For-tress is our God, A Bul-wark nev-er fail – ing; Our Help-er He a-mid the flood Of mor-tal ills pre-vail – ing. For still our an-cient foe Doth seek to work us woe; His craft and pow'r are great; And, armed with cru-el hate, On earth is not His e - qual.
2. Did we in our own strength con-fide, Our striv-ing would be los – ing; Were not the right Man on our side, The Man of God's own choos – ing. Dost ask who that may be? Christ Je-sus, it is He, Lord Sab-a-oth His Name, From age to age the same, And He must win the bat - tle.
3. And though this world, with dev-ils filled, Should threat-en to un-do us, We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to tri-umph through us. The prince of dark-ness fri, We trem-ble not for him; His rage we can en-dure, For lo! His doom is sure; One lit-tle word shall fell him. A-men.>
Who is the truth here? Jesus. The Lord said earlier in John 14:6 that <Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.>
Hallelujah! That's right. Paul, the apostle, says in verse 8-9 of today's text, <(8) We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life. (9) Indeed, in our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.> Therefore, I bless in the name of the Lord that you may rely on God for everything and console someone.
● 2 Corinthians 1:10-11. She says <(10) He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, (11) as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.>
That's right. No one needs prayer, just as no one needs comfort. He asks me to pray for Paul's party. That's right. Please pray. I believe that a good day will come. Amen! Amen!
