16 하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라(요3:16)"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.   환영합니다.Welcome everyone. 1년에 주일이 52일이나 된답니다.There are 52 lord’s days in a year. 그래서 우리는 일 년 동안 52일을 교회에서 보낸 것입니다.Therefore we spend 52days in the church per a year. 일 년에 거의 두 달이나 됩니다. It is About 2 months in a year.사람들은 시간이 돈이라고 하는데 우리는 이렇게 많은 시간을 교회에서 보낸 것입니다. People says time is mony.But We spend a lot of times in the church. 농부는 농사일도 많고Farmers have to do their work on the fields, 학생은 공부할 것도 많고 Student have to do their school works, 젊은이들은 데이트도 해야 하고The young people need a time for date. 그 중요한 일들을 접어두고 여러분은 왜 이 자리에 앉아있을까요?Why are you here instead of doing your important things?교회에 온 목적이 있을 것이 아닙니까?What is your purpose of coming to the church? 저는 우리 집안에서 처음으로 교회를 다녔습니다.I am the first believer in my home. 아버지는 그 귀한 시간을 교회에서 보내는 저를 이해하시지 못하셨습니다. My father could not understand me because he thought I spent important time meaninglessly in the church.아버지께서는 차라리 일요일이면 드러누워 잠이나 자라He advised me seriously to sleep on Sunday rather than going to the church. 눈도 몸도 공부를 위해 쉬어주어라. take a rest, for studying!그러니까 아버지는 제가 교회 가는 시간을 드러누워서 낮잠을 자는 시간보다 못하게 여기신 것입니다. My father counted sleeping on Sunday was better than going to church.드러누워 잠이나 자라.Get some sleep!여러분은 지금 교회에 왜 앉아계시나요?Why are you sitting here? 우리 눈에는 사람들이 서로 달라 보입니다.Many people look different from each other. 지금도 설교를 하는 사람 듣는 사람 다르지 않습니까?I’m a preacher and you are listeners.Aren’t we different?하지만 모두가 똑 같이 사람입니다. But we are same. we are all people. 미국 사람이나 일본 사람이나 여자나 남자나 농부나 대학 교수나 똑 같은 것이 있습니다.Man and woman, American and Japanese, and professor and farmer are all people. 우리 사람은 이 세상에 태어납니다. People born in this world.또 사람은 예외 없이 죽는다는 것입니다. We eventually die, without exception.사람마다 삶이라는 벗을 수 없는 과제를 가진 것입니다.Everyone has the burden of life which they can not free from.첫째 어떻게 살아야 잘 사는 것일까?First, How do we live well?둘째 죽음을 어떻게 극복할 것이냐?Second, how do we get over the death? 교회는 바로 이 과제를 푸는 장소입니다.Church is the place where we solve theses problems. 그 죽음의 문제가 풀려졌을 때 그것을 두고 복음이라고 하는 것입니다.We call it gospel, which solves the problem of death. 예수님 이름으로 암 떨어진 것 그것을 두고 복음이라고 부르지 않습니다.We don’t say, recovering from cancer in the name of Jesus, is gospel.5-6년 더 살다가 마찬가지로 죽는 것을 두고 복음이라고 하지 않습니다.We don’t call Postpone of our death 5 or 6 years and then will die as gospel.제가 시무하던 봉성 교회에 40에 처음 교회 발을 디딘 문 장로님이 계십니다. On Bong Seong Church where I ministered before, there was a Elder Moon, who participated in the church for the first time at forty.그는 사업을 다 망해 먹고 봉성으로 이사를 왔습니다. He came to Bong Seong after bankruptcy.교회 나온 지 몇 달 후 나에게 오더니 이런 말을 했습니다.When a couple of months passed, he confessed to me like this. 이제 죽음이 무섭지 않아요.I am not afraid of the death any more. 저는 그가 나에게 그 고백을 하기 전까지 그가 자신의 죽음을 두고 그렇게까지 두려워하고 있었다는 것을 전혀 모르고 있었습니다.I had never known that he was afraid of his death until he confessed it to me.두 번째로 저는 저의 설교가 그에게 죽음에 대한 두려움을 몰아내고 있다는 사실을 전혀 몰랐습니다. Secondary I had never known that my preaching had swept away the fear of his death in his heart.그는 당시에 40의 어른이었거든요.He was adult.He was 40 years old. 저는 문 장로님의 그 고백을 듣고 강대상에서 나를 통해서 전해진 복음의 능력에 굉장히 놀란 적이 있습니다.I was surprised by the power of the gospel after hearing confession of elder Moon.그것이 복음입니다. That is gospel.세상 사업에 흥했다는 것도 복음이 아닙니다.Recovery from the business is not a gospel 그것은 의미가 없습니다. That is meaningless.60이 넘으면 저처럼 머리털이 다 빠지고 머리도 희어지고 모두 다 똑 같습니다. If you get old, you’ll get white hair and may become bald like me.시간이 흐르면 부자나 가난뱅이나 이렇게 점점 평등해 지기 시작하는 것입니다.As time passes, whether you are poor or rich, everyone ages.그러더니 누구나 똑같아집니다. At last, every one become absolutely same.사람이 죽는 순간 절대 평등해지는 것입니다.When they face the death, they will absolutely be same. 그 때는 흑인도 없고 백인도 없습니다.there is no difference between black and white on that time. 목사도 없고 교인도 없습니다. there will be no difference between pastor and church member.죽어서까지 무덤 앞에 수 억짜리 비석을 세워도 사람이 먼지로 똑같이 돌아갑니다. Although some set up expansive gravestone before their tombs, they all return to the same dust.모든 사람이 당하는 죽음의 대 전제를 잊지 마시기 바랍니다.Remember the premise that man should return to the dust. 그 문제를 해결하는 것이 바로 복음입니다. Gospel is the solution to the problem of death. 방언을 하려고 신앙하는 것이 아닙니다.We do not go to church to speak in the tongues of men and of angels. 천국 문 앞에 보니 방언하는 사람들이 천국에 못 들어가고 이를 갈고 있었습니다. There are people who can not enter the heaven, even if they can speak in the tongues of men and of angel.선지자 노릇하고 who can prophesy in Jesus name예수님의 이름으로 병을 고쳐주고who can cure the patients in Jesus name.   22    그 날에 많은 사람이 나더러 이르되 주여 주여 우리가 주의 이름으로 선지자 노릇 하며 주의 이름으로 귀신을 쫓아 내며 주의 이름으로 많은 권능을 행하지 아니하였나이까 하리니22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’  23    그 때에 내가 그들에게 밝히 말하되 내가 너희를 도무지 알지 못하니 불법을 행하는 자들아 내게서 떠나가라 하리라 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’ 복음은 오직 죽음을 극복하는 문제입니다.Gospel is involved in the salvation from death.영생을 누리는 일입니다. It is about the eternal life.     초등학교 1학년 아이들이 운동회에서 달리기를 하는 것을 본 적이 있습니다.I have seen 1st graders who were racing during a sport festival. 달리기를 하더니 달리다 말고 엄마를 향해 달려옵니다.Some of them run to his mother instead of running to the goal. 달리기에 그 목표가 분명히 있습니다. Every race surly has the goal.엄마가 달리기의 목표가 아닙니다. his mother is not the goal for the race.신앙에는 목표가 분명히 있습니다.the Belief has the certain goal.여러분들은 이 교회를 통해 제대로 사는 법을 알게 되고 죽음을 극복하게 될 것입니다.Through this worship you will find out how to live and how to save from the death. 그래서 우리는 일 년에 52번을 교회에 나와서 앉아있었던 것입니다. We had worshiped 52 times in a year for these reasons. 여러분은 이 예배를 통해 어느 순간 이런 고백을 할 것입니다. Some day you will confess it through this worship 아 이제 죽음이 두렵지 않구나. that I am not afraid of my death.더 나아가서 이렇게 말하는 사람도 있을 것입니다. 하나님의 일이라면 내 목숨도 내어놓아야겠구나.Some of us will confess that I will yield my life for God. 교회는 이것을 가능하게 하는 것입니다. Church makes this possible.그 일이 황당한 일이 아닙니다. It is not a surprising thing.우리의 한국의 교회 역사 가운데에도 그런 분들이 수두룩하셨습니다.There are so many people in the church who yielded their life for God in history of our country. 특별이 이 경상도 지역은 많은 순교자가 있었습니다. Especially on gyoung sang district many were martyred because of their belief.일제시대에 일본의 우상 신사참배를 거부했던 것입니다. They refused to worship japan’s idol, shinsa.일본 놈들이 머리 한번 까딱하면 살려준다고 해도 그 일을 하지 않았습니다. Japanese seduced the believers and said“I will save you if you bow down your head to the shinsa one time.”But they refused it. 왜 why?영생의 목표가 분명했기 때문입니다.It’s because their purpose of belief was clear. 사탄은 달리기를 하다 말고 엄마하고 엉뚱한 곳으로 향하게 하는 것입니다.Satan lures you to run to your physical mother during the race of belief. 암 떨어져서 십 년 더 살라고 예수님이 십자가에 죽으신 것도 아닙니다.Jesus didn’t died on the cross for caring your cancer 반대입니다.Actually, he died on the cross for opposite reason.암이 걸려서 깊은 고민을 하다가 천국을 얻은 사람이 있습니다.There was a men who found heaven because of cancer. 제가 봉성 교회에 있을 때 양 장로님이 그랬습니다.On Bong Seong Church Elder Yang is that man 암으로 부인을 잃고 신앙을 시작했습니다. His wife had died because of cancer and that made him believer.망한 사업을 예수님 이름으로 흥하게 하려고 세상 사업을 위해 예수님이 십자가를 지신 것이 아닙니다. Jesus was not crucified to recover your business success. 예수님은 그 반대의 이유로 십자가에서 죽으신 것입니다. He died on the cross for opposite reason.사업에 옴싹 망해버리고 그 일로 신앙을 가진 사람이 있습니다.I know the man who seek the God after bankruptcy. 제가 봉성 교회에 있을 때에 문 장로님이 그랬습니다.On Bong Seong Church Elder Moon was that man. 보르네오 가구 가게 사장을 하다 몽땅 망해버리고 교회를 찾은 것입니다. He was the owner of the furniture store. He found a Jesus after bankrupt. 그러니까 예수 믿고 만사형통이 아닙니다. Therefore believing Jesus do not make you prosper in this world. 이 땅의 그 슬픈 경험들은 하나님의 나라를 알기 위한 것입니다. That sorrow experience in this world was for knowing the kingdom of God. 교회는 영생의 목표를 위해 이 땅의 만사형통도 스스로 버릴 수 있는 사람을 만드는 곳입니다. church make the people spontaneously give up the property in this world for the heavenly world. 교회는 그 신앙의 목표를 영생으로 확고하게 하는 일을 합니다.Church is here to help people to live for eternal life in heaven.그러면 그 영생을 얻기 위해 우리 할 일이 무엇인가?What must we do for the getting the kingdom of God?단 한 가지 사실을 반드시 기억하셔야 합니다.You must remember only one thing for winning your eternal life.이 사실을 믿어야합니다. You must believe this only.하나님이 그 아들을 세상에 보내셨다는 것입니다. God sent his son into this world.그 분이 십자가에서 그의 아들을 우리를 위해 죽게 하신 것입니다.God let Jesus, his only Son die on the cross for us. 2,000년 전입니다. in 2,000 years ago. 그 분이 이 땅에 오셔서 하신 일이 한두 가지 이시겠습니까?When he was on the earth, Jesus did many things. 아침에 일어나시면 세수 안 하셨겠습니까? in the morning, he washed his face everyday.주무시기 전에 발을 안 닦으셨겠습니까? before going to sleep, he used to wash his feet.그런데 성경에는 예수님이 세수하셨다.But the scripture do not speak about that 발 씻고 주무셨다. 그런 이야기를 한 번도 기록한 적이 없습니다.washing his feet or his face. 그것은 하나마나한 소리였기 때문입니다.Because that information about Jesus is meaningless. 저는 아이들이 연예인 생일까지 기억하는 것을 보고 화를 낸 적이 있습니다.One time I got angry with a guy because he memorized the birth day of pop singer.도대체 그것을 알아서 뭐하자는 거야! Why do you need to know that? 당연이 여러분들은 성경 한 번쯤 읽으셨을 것입니다.I believe most of you had read the bible thoroughly at least once. 성경에 바울이라는 사람이 등장합니다. You know Paul. 그런데 이상한 일입니다. But there is strange thing about him.바울이 예수님 살아계실 그 때에 살았으니 He lived in the same time of Jesus 그는 예수님 때문에 문둥병이 나은 사람도 만났을 것입니다.he surely knew a people who was miraculously cured from leprosy by Jesus.오병이어 기적으로 그 산골짝에서 예수님께 떡 얻어먹은 사람 a man who had eaten the breads and fishes through 5 breads and 2 fishes in the deep valley 아니면 혹시 죽었다가 장례 길에서 살아난 과부의 아들 and the son of widow who was raised from death on the way to the tomb.바울이 그 일들을 몰랐을 리가 없습니다. Paul surly knew those events.그런데 바울은 예수님의 이런 엄청난 기적들을 단 한 번도 말하는 법이 없었다는 것입니다.But he had never spoken about that miracle of Jesus at one time. 예수께서 베드로를 향해 와 Jesus said to Peter “Come”.그러자 여기 베드로가 광풍의 바다 위를 걸었습니다.At that time Peter walked on the Stormy Sea. 할렐루야 Hallelujah아멘 Amen그 베드로를 바울은 잘 알고 있었습니다. Paul knew about Peter well.하지만 그의 설교 중에 그런 말을 단 한 번도 한 적이 없다는 것입니다.But Paul had never spoken about Peter walking on the stormy sea, one time. 내가 당시의 바울이었다면 비행기를 타고 오대양 육대주를 다니며 내 친구 베드로 이야기 그 이야기만 간증했을 텐데 말입니다.If I knew this miracle, I would fly to all nations through air plane and would confess that story repeatedly.그런데 바울은 예수님의 말씀 한 마디에 광풍 위를 걷은 베드로의 일이 예수님이 주무시기 전에 발 닦으신 이야기에 불과하다는 것입니다. But Paul counted Peter’s experience is like washing feet of Jesus before going to bed. 하나마나 한 소리였다는 것입니다. Miracle of Peter walking on the stormy sea is not important to Paul.바울에게 중요한 것은 단 한가지였습니다.Paul’s important concern is unique. 십자가의 예수님이십니다. That is the Jesus on the cross.하나님께서 독생하신 그의 아들 예수님을 통해서 사람을 살리는 그 일을 하셨다는 것입니다. God saves his people through the Jesus on the cross.   16 하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 이는 그를 믿는 자마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.   바로 이 사실을 기억하시라는 것입니다. Remember this. 바로 이 사실을 믿으라는 것입니다.Believe this. 그가 나를 위해 죽으셨다.He was crucified on the cross for us. 그리고 무덤 문을 열고 일어나셔서 He was raised from the tomb after three days.영원한 생명의 첫 열매가 되셨다. He became the first fruit of resurrection. 그를 믿는 자들에게 하나님은 영원한 생명을 주셨던 것입니다. He gives eternal life to believer who believes Jesus on the cross.   16 하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하사 독생자를 주셨으니 16. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son   다시 이르지만 이 죽으심의 사건으로 사람들이 영생 구원을 얻은 것입니다.repeatedly speaking, everyone obtains the eternal life because of his death. 즉 십자가는 우리에게 구원을 주시는 능력입니다. the cross is the saving power of God. 그리고 한 가지 더 있습니다.And then there is one important thing more. 십자가는 우리 사람들의 삶의 모델이라는 것입니다.the cross is the model of our life. 너희는 이렇게 살아라.“Live like this”, Jesus said to us on the cross.   24    이에 예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 누구든지 나를 따라오려거든 자기를 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 나를 따를 것이니라24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.   십자가는 사람들의 삶의 모델입니다. cross is the model of our life.유한양행의 창업자 유일한 씨의 간증을 기억합니다.I remember the confession of You Il Han, the founder of You Han company. 어려운 시절 유일한의 어머니는 아이들이 굶는 모습이 너무 안스러웠습니다. In hard time, his mother was sorrowful because of her children’s hunger.하지만 그 녀에게 방도가 없습니다. There was no solution to her. 어느 날 아침에 거한 상이 나왔습니다.one day delicious food was prepared for her family. 하지만 어머니는 아무것도 잡수실 수 없었습니다.But she could not open her mouth and eat them.아이들의 너무 굶는 모습을 보다 못한 어머니가 그 녀의 생 금이빨을 빼서 고물장수에게 판 것입니다. She could not endured to see her children’s hunger.She remove her teeth covered with gold by herself and sold it. 그 돈으로 식구들에게 밥을 먹인 것입니다. She prepared the food for her children by that money on that day.유일한이 미국에서 유학을 할 때입니다. When You Il Han studied in America 공부해야지 또 식당에서 돈을 벌어야지 그러니 얼마나 피곤하겠습니까?You Il Han was very tired everyday because he had to work for money and study.하지만 등을 방바닥에 대고 편히 잠을 잘 수가 없었습니다. But he could not lie down on the bed peacefully.어머니의 금이빨이 생각이 났기 때문입니다.그는 벌떡 일어나서 공부를 했답니다.The memory which his mother removed her teeth for him, raised him from bed and made him study hard. 그 날 주님은 너 방언한 적 있어 그것을 묻는 것이 아닙니다.Jesus will not ask you on last day “had you ever spoken in tongues of men and angels?” 예수님은 바로 이 질문을 하실 것입니다.Jesus will ask this question on that day Surely너 나를 위해 희생한 적이 있어? 그것을 묻습니다. “had you ever sacrifice yourself for me?” 다시 정리합니다. In Summary 주님의 십자가는 우리를 구원하시는 능력이며 또한 우리 삶의 가장 모범적인 모델입니다. the cross of Jesus is the power of salvation and the model of our life which Jesus showed for us교회는 파워 집단이 아닙니다. Church is not the community of the power. 바울은 나는 약함을 자랑한다고 했습니다. Paul said that he was proud of his weakness물리적인 세상에서는 강한 것이 힘이지만 영적이 세상에서는 약한 것이 힘입니다.In this physical world people proud of the power but in spiritual world the weakness is the power. 하나님께서는 약자의 기도를 들어주십니다.God must hear the prayer of the weak. 그 십자가에서 죽기까지 자신을 부정하신 예수님을 믿는 사람들에게 구원이 있습니다. the one who believes the Jesus on the cross will be saved.주님은 십자가에 죽으셨습니다. Jesus was died on the cross.
