TNB Gelugor Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant

The Nuclear Power Year 6 Exhibition group (Pierina Lee and Henry Cooper) took a trip to the TNB Gelugor CCGT power plant, which is a major contributor to the Penang power grid.

Although the power station is not nuclear powered, the technology is the same: making steam to turn the turbine. We were met by Mr. Syed, the General Manager, and given an excellent tour. It started in an auditorium where we watched an informative slide show. The slide show explained about the power plant itself, as well as the production of power throughout Malaysia.

We then were given a tour of the three generators at the plant site, as well as the control room. In all, it was a very worthwhile trip that we would recommend to all Year levels.

Year 6의 Pierina와 Henry가 TNB Gelugor CCGT 원자력 발전소를 찾았습니다.  지금은 같은 기술로 가스 터빈 발전소를 운영하고 있다고 하네요.   GM인 Mr. Syed를 만나  발전소에 대해 많은 얘기를 들었습니다. 좋은 교육의 장이 된 것같습니다.
