Making Better Choices as a Korean Language Teacher
Everyone makes choices every day. As a future Korean language teacher, I want to help high school students make better choices in their learning. Students have different interests and learning styles, so choosing the best teaching method is not always easy.
Studying alone helps students focus on reading and understanding texts. However, discussing literature with classmates allows them to share different ideas. Whatever learning method students choose, they need to think carefully about their own needs. Whoever studies Korean literature should have opportunities to express their opinions. Whichever method a teacher selects, the goal is to help students understand literature better.
As a teacher, I will encourage reading various literary works and discussing their meanings. I believe that listening to different opinions helps students develop their own thoughts. Making good choices in education requires understanding students' needs. Comparing different teaching methods can help teachers find better ways to teach.
My goal is not to make students memorize every answer, but to help them think critically. I want to encourage students to ask questions and to develop their ability to interpret texts. I will try to create a classroom where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas.
Whatever difficulties students face, I will try to support them. Whichever literary work we study, I want students to discover its meaning for themselves. Whoever shares an opinion deserves respect. Whatever questions students ask, I will listen carefully. Whichever activity we choose, I hope it will help students enjoy learning Korean.
In the future, I want to become a teacher who respects students' differences. Teaching is not about giving students every answer, but about helping them find answers on their own. My role is not to control students' thoughts, but to encourage them to think independently. Reading literature is not just about memorizing facts, but about understanding people's lives and feelings. A good classroom is not a place where only the teacher speaks, but a place where students share their ideas. The purpose of literature education is not simply to teach grammar, but to help students understand language and communicate with others.
Reading literature can broaden students' perspectives, and sharing ideas can help them understand others. I believe that choosing the right teaching method and respecting different opinions will make learning more meaningful.
