Uplands - story reading by Ms. Zara

The International School of Penang (Uplands) was delighted to have Ms. Zara visit our 4I class for a special story reading session.

Students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions about the process of creating her books and what inspired her to develop her characters. It was wonderful to see such curiosity and enthusiasm during the session

Ms. Zara shared that the characters from I’m a Tiger were inspired by meaningful parts of her life—the hamster character was influenced by the Hamtaro cartoon she enjoyed as a child, while the orange cat was inspired by her parents’ cat

She also spoke about her personal dreams: becoming a teacher, which she has already achieved, becoming an author, with three books written so far, and aspiring to be a singer and perform on stage. We wish her all the very best as she continues to pursue her dreams
