“So David said, ‘This is where the Temple of the Lord God will be.
Here
is the altar //where the people of Israel are to offer burnt offerings.’”
(1 Chronicles 22:1 GNT)
In the Old Testament the worship of God was permitted on only one spot
of land—the site of the Temple of Jerusalem.
Only there could sacrifices
be offered; only there were the people /led in worship and thanksgiving
/by special chosen choirs and their leaders; only there did the priests
perform their duties.
Today, believers in Jesus comprise the new
priesthood and we can praise him /anytime /at any place. We needn’t wait
for Sunday
/to express our love and thanksgiving.
The Father right now is
seeking those //who will worship him in Spirit and in truth. Let’s do
that today.
Read 1 Chronicles 22:1-16 to see how King David commissions his son Solomon to build the Temple of the Lord.
