여전히 내란 사건 연루자 활동 중…마지막까지 찾아낼 수사 조직 필요

특수본, 경찰에서 우선 구성…중수청 출범 이후 수사 조직 확대 검토

유엔총회 참석을 위해 미국 뉴욕을 방문하고 있는 이재명 대통령이 귀국 직후 '내란 사건 특별수사본부' 구성을 지시하는 방안을 유력하게 검토하고 있는 것으로 오늘(23일) 확인됐습니다.

It was confirmed today (the 23rd) that President Lee Jae Myung, who is visiting New York to attend the UN General Assembly, is seriously considering ordering the formation of a 'Special Investigation Headquarters for the Incident of the Rebellion' immediately after his return.

이재명 정부는 출범 직후 김민석 당시 국무총리의 제안으로 12·3 내란사건 동조자들을 청산하기 위해 '헌법존중 정부혁신 TF'를 구성해 군과 검찰·경찰, 각 부처를 자체 조사한 적이 있지만 '내란사건 잔존세력' 수사를 위해 정부가 '특수본'을 구성하는 건 이번이 처음입니다.

Shortly after taking office, the Lee Jae Myung formed a 'Constitutional Respect Government Innovation Task Force' at the suggestion of then-Prime Minister Kim Min-seok to purge sympathizers of the December 3 coup, conducting internal investigations by the military, prosecution, police, and various ministries, but this is the first time the government has formed a special investigation unit to probe for 'residual forces of the coup.'

이재명 대통령은 여전히 내란 사건에 연루된 사람들이 활동하고 있다고 보고, 마지막 한 사람까지 찾아낼 별도의 수사 조직이 필요하다고 판단한 것으로 알려졌습니다.

President Lee Jae Myung is said to believe that people involved in the rebellion are still active and has determined that a separate investigative team is needed to identify every last one.

'특수본' 구성은 우선 경찰에 맡겼다가 다음 달 중대범죄수사청(중수청)이 출범하면 해당 조직을 더 확장하는 방안까지도, 이미 구체적인 검토를 마친 것으로 파악됐습니다.

It is understood that the formation of a 'Special Investigation Headquarters" is already being given detailed consideration, with the option of first leaving it to the police and then expanding the organization once the Serious Crime Investigation Agency (SCIA) launches next month.

청와대는 어제 조희대 대법원장이 이 대통령 출국 바로 다음 날 '재제청 거부' 입장을 밝힌 직후 "국민에 의해 선출된 대통령의 임명권을 무력화하는 것"이라면서 "깊은 유감"을 표한 바 있습니다.

Yesterday, immediately after Chief Justice Cho Hee-dae announced his refusal to re-nominate the president the day after his departure, the Blue House expressed "deep regret," saying it "nullified the president's appointment authority, which was elected by the people."
