2> Jesus, who preached the gospel of God's kingdom, the heavenly kingdom <JohnMedicine>
<Matthew 13:44> 2026.11.1.<Sunday> Pastor Kim Ho-il, Osaka Sarang Community Church.
Before preaching the gospel of the kingdom, Jesus spoke about eight kinds of hearts, saying that the heart of a saved person should be like these. And then he spoke about the four fields. 1> In a field by the roadside, that is, a hard field, good seeds do not take root, so birds come and eat them. 2> It is a field of thin soil and stones. In other words, because the soil is shallow, the sprouts soon wither and die in the sunlight. 3> This is a thorn bush field. In other words, if you plant a seed, it will sprout and grow, but because it does not bloom, it will not bear fruit. 4> This is an octopus field. In other words, if you sow seeds in a field of fertile soil, they will bear 30, 60, or even 100 times more fruit. In the end, a person is one of four fields. Therefore, we must strive to become believers who have the heart of a field of fertile soil. The way is to remove the evil from the heart through repentance and receive forgiveness of sins. Jesus also spoke of the kingdom of God in parables.
1> The kingdom of God is like a man sowing seed on the ground. The meaning of this statement is that the gospel, as a seed, grows rapidly.
2> The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed. It means that by sharing a gospel like a small seed, it grows into a great tree.
3> God's kingdom had sown good seed in its field, but the devil came and sowed weeds on top of it. That is why grain and weeds grow together until the harvest. In other words, because the devil constantly plants poisonous weeds in our hearts, we must discern and break them apart in the name of Jesus.
4> God’s kingdom is like yeast that causes everything to leaven, even with just a little. In other words, the gospel has the power to transform our hearts.
5>Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. The one who finds it is glad and returns to buy the field by selling all they have. Heaven is like treasure. Receiving heaven is to receive the greatest blessing. Therefore, heaven is worth obtaining, even if it means giving up everything. Furthermore, Jesus, who is heaven, is the true treasure.
6> Heaven is like a merchant seeking fine pearls. When you discover a valuable pearl, sell all you own to buy it. Because pearls are precious, there are many replicas. So they are glad when they find and meet the real one. The one who met Bohwa while working in the field earlier met him by chance, but the pearl merchant had been diligently searching for the real one. There are also two ways we receive grace.
Sometimes people receive grace by chance when they meet a good opportunity, while other times they chase after it out of longing. However, it has no value to those who do not know pearls. We must be those who discover and rejoice in heaven. Many people do not rejoice much because they do not know the value of God's kingdom. However, those who know depth value obtaining heaven more than possessing all of the world. In fact, once you own the real thing, the rest isn't that valuable.
7> Heaven is like casting a net into the sea to catch fish. The point is to pick the good fish from the net and put them in a bowl, while discarding the bad ones. The “net” mentioned here refers to the church.
Jesus told His disciples to become fishermen who catch people. It means evangelize many people.
8>What is heaven like to the servants and the king who seeks to repent. When he was told to sell everything to repay a debt of ten thousand talents, he said, “Please bear with me; I will pay it all,” and God showed mercy, forgiving him completely. The meaning of this statement is that we are those for whom God has forgiven great sins. But the one who had received so much debt was unable to forgive the one who owed him a little and put him in prison. Upon hearing this, the master, who had forgiven much, ordered that the one who had been called back and forgiven much but not a little, be put in prison.
