어떻게 변할지 모르는 인생 지금 앞 서거니 뒤 서거니 계산하지 않는 그저 옆에 있어 주는 것 만으로도, 위로가 되는 친구로 남아 있자.(Life that doesn't know how it's going to change. Just being next to me, standing back and forth, not counting, Let's remain comforting friends.)

도움이 되지는 못해도 누가 되지 않는 가까이 살지는 못해도,(Even if it doesn't help, if it doesn't help, it doesn't help anyone,)

일이 있을 때 한 달음에 달려와 주는 허물없이 두 팔로 안을 수 있는 친구로 남아 있자.(Let's remain friends who can hug each other with both arms without breaking down when they run for a month when they have work.)

우리가 함께한 추억이 세상 사는 기억으로 옅어질지라도,(Even though the memories we shared fade into the memories of living in the world,)

서로 만나면 밤늦도록 옛 추억 거리로 진한 향기 풍기는 라일락 같은 친구로 남아 있자.(When we meet each other, let's remain friends like lilacs that smell deep into the streets of old memories until late at night.)

어찌 친구라 해서 늘 한결같을 수 있으며 늘 곁에 있을 수가 있겠냐마는,(How can a friend always be consistent and always be by his side,)

서로를 옆에서 칭찬하며 성장할 수 있는 따뜻한 사랑과 너그러운 인품을 지닌 진실한 친구로 남아 있자.(Let's remain true friends with warm love and generous personality to grow by complimenting each other.)

우리 어떤 모습이든 자랑스럽고 떳떳한 친구로 어떤 상황이든 듬직하고,(Whatever we look like, we're proud and proud of ourselves. We're reliable in any situation,)

격려할 수 있는 친구로 어떤 위치이든 동등하고, 변치 않는 친구로 서로를 비춰 주는 등불 같은 친구로 남아 있자.(Let's remain the same friends, equalizing any position as an encouraging friend, and shining a light on each other as an unchanging friend.)

혹여나 세월의 풍파(風波, hardship)속 에 연이 끊어져 볼 수 없더라도 아련히 떠 올리며 미소 지을 수 있는 친구로 남아있자. 사랑하는 친구야.(Even if you can't see the kite because it's broken in the wind and waves of time, let's remain friends who can still remember and smile. My dear friend.)
