59) Apr. 12 : Logroño - The capital of Rioja, the Spanish wine capital


  After visiting the Palacio in Zaragoza at 12:25 PM, we left (7,758 km). We drove along the highway and had lunch with wine at the Medas rest stop in Calahora, 49 km before Logroño (7,881 km). The Rioja red wine, as always, delighted me.
The road to Logroño is lined with spectacular vineyards. Rioja is known as one of Spain's leading wine regions, and the vineyards unfolding before your eyes as you drive through the area are truly impressive. Wineries (bodegas) dot the vineyards. Rioja's red wines are arguably Spain's finest, boasting some of the highest quality wines. Hundreds of wine tasting rooms and wineries are easily overlooked.
I wanted to stop by a winery in a vineyard, but my friend who was traveling with me insisted we just go, so unfortunately I couldn't do any tasting.


59)4월 12일 여정: 로그로뇨- 스페인 와인의 대명사 리오하주의 주도


12시 25분 사라고사의 Palacio를 둘러보고 난 후 이곳을 떠났다.(7,758Km).
고속도로로 달리다 로그로뇨 49Km전에 있는 Calahora의 Medas 휴계소에서 와인을 겻들인 점심을 하였다.(7881Km) 리오하 레드와인은 역시 내 기분을 즐겁게 하였다.
로그로뇨로 가는 길은 와인 밭으로 장관을 이루고 있다. 이곳 리오하 주는 스페인에서 손꼽히는 와인 산지로 알려져 있는데 차를 타고 가면서 차창 밖으로 펼쳐지는 포도밭이 매우 인상적이다.
포도 밭 곳곳에 와이너리(보데가)가 보인다. 와인하면 리오하의 '레드와인'이라고 할 만큼 스페인 최고의 품질을 자랑하고 있다. 수백개의 와인 시음장 와이너리를 쳐다 보면서도 그냥 지나쳐 버린다.
나는 포도밭 농원에 있는 와이너리에 들리고 싶었으나 같이 동행하는 친구가 그냥 가자고 제촉하는 바람에 유감스럽게 시음을 못했다.

The area is covered in vineyards. The long hours of sunlight and the hot summer sun ripen the grapes well.
      온통 와인 밭이다. 일조량이 길고 여름에는 뜨거운 태양 빛이 포도를 잘 영글게 한단다.




We arrived in Logrño at 2:30 PM. Located in the heart of Rioja, Logrño is on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, so we were able to see pilgrims throughout the city (7,936 km).
오후 14시 30분 로그르뇨에 도착하였다. 리오하 주의 중심도시로 산티아고 순례길 도중에 있어서 도시안에서 순례자들을 볼 수 있었다.(7,936Km) 
           

                        
Entering Espelon Park, I could see pilgrims in the distance. Esther approached them
  에스펠론 공원에 들어서니 저멀리 순례자들을 볼 수 있었다. Esther는 저들에게 가까이 간다.

The couple, who walked the Camino de Santiago for seven days from France, said they had come here with a joyful heart, reaffirming their love for each other throughout the pilgrimage. They were extremely determined to complete the Camino de Santiago. Esther and I also hope to challenge ourselves in two or three years.
                        두 부부 순례자와 기념사진, 프랑스에서 7일 간 걸어 온 두 부부는 순례길을 오면서 서로의 사랑을
                      더 확인하면서 즐거운 마음으로 이곳 까지 왔다고 한다.
                       이들은 산티아고까지 완주하겠다는 의지가 대단히 강하였다.
                      Esther와 나도 2,3년 후에 도전하고 싶다.


           

                                     
  Approaching the cathedral in the heart of the old city
                                                 구시가의 중심 카테드랄로 접근하고 있다.
                               

A Baroque cathedral facing the Mercado Square in the old town. Officially known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria de la Redonda, it was built in the 15th century and expanded in the 18th century to achieve its current appearance. It's also a stop on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, where pilgrims receive a passport stamp confirm‎‎ing their passage.


After a 33-minute stay here, we departed for Burgos at 3:03 PM, home to one of Spain's three largest cathedrals.




 구시가의 메르카도 광장에 면해 있는 바로크 양식의 성당. 정식 명칭은 산타 마리아 데 라 레돈다 성당
15세기에 짓고 18세기에 증축하여 지금의 모습을 갖추었단다. 산티아고 순례길에 있어 순례자들이 이곳에서 여권에 통과 확인 도장을 받는 곳이 기도 하다.


이 곳에서 33분 머물다 15시03분에 스페인 3대 성당 중 하나가 있는 Burgos로 떠났다.
