제목: 교회 공동체의 행한 것이 무엇인가?

본문: 예레미야 8:1~7절

1나 여호와가 말하노라. 그 때에 사람들이 유다 왕들의 뼈와 그 방백들의 뼈와 제사장들의 뼈와 선지자들의 뼈와 예루살렘 거민의 뼈를 그 묘실에서 끌어내어 2그들의 사랑하며 섬기며 순복하며 구하며 경배하던 해와 달과 하늘의 뭇 별 아래 쬐리니 그 뼈가 거두이거나 묻히지 못하여 지면에서 분토 같을 것이며 3이 악한 족속의 남아 있는 사람, 무릇 내게 쫓겨나서 각처에 남아 있는 사람이 사는 것보다 죽는 것을 원하리라. 만군의 여호와의 말이니라. 4너는 또 그들에게 말하기를 여호와의 말씀에 사람이 엎드러지면 어찌 일어나지 아니하겠으며 사람이 떠나갔으면 어찌 돌아오지 아니하겠느냐? 5이 예루살렘 백성이 항상 나를 떠나 물러감은 어찜이뇨? 그들이 거짓을 고집하고 돌아오기를 거절하도다. 6내가 귀를 기울여 들은즉 그들이 정직을 말하지 아니하며 그 악을 뉘우쳐서 나의 행한 것이 무엇인고 말하는 사람이 없고 전장을 향하여 달리는 말 같이 각각 그 길로 행하도다. 7공중의 학은 그 정한 시기를 알고 반구와 제비와 두루미는 그 올 때를 지키거늘 내 백성은 여호와의 규례를 알지 못하도다. 하셨다 하라. 아멘.

설교문:

전도헌장을 다 같이 외치겠습니다.

2배 부흥 전도축제 5대 헌장
첫째 (명령) 예수님의 명령에 순종한다.
둘째 (사명) 전도의 사명을 이루어 하나님 앞에서 상급 받는다.
셋째 (구원) 사람들이 날마다 구원받는 교회가 되게 한다.
넷째 (헌신) 전도를 위해 서로 기도하고 힘을 주고 격려하고 헌금한다.
다섯째 (희생) 2배부흥 전도축제를 위하여 생명 걸고 전도한다.

시간이 얼마나 빨리 지나가는지 어제 주일 예배를 드린 거 같은데 또 주일이 왔습니다. 모세도 시편90편10절 후반에서 ‘신속히 가니 우리가 날아가나이다.’라고 말했습니다. 상반기를 보내고 하반기를 맞이하는 시점에서 우리 스스로에게 던져야 될 질문이 있습니다. 본문 6절에 ‘내가 귀를 기울여 들은즉 그들이 정직을 말하지 아니하며 그 악을 뉘우쳐서 나의 행한 것이 무엇인고 말하는 자가 없고 전장을 향하여 달리는 말 같이 각각 그 길로 행하도다.’라고 기록되었습니다. 하나님은 당신의 백성들이 ‘나의 행한 것이 무엇인고(What have I done)?’ 즉, ‘내가 지금까지 무엇을 행하였던고?’ 이런 질문을 스스로 던지며 생각해 보기를 원하신다는 것입니다.

남녀노소를 불문하고 청년이든 학생이든 신자든 불신자든 가리지 않고 적당한 시간이 되면 ‘나의 행한 것은 무엇이었던가?’ 스스로 물어보기를 하나님이 원하신다는 것입니다. 3 가지와 관련해서 ‘나의 행한 것이 무엇인가?’를 생각해 보겠습니다.

1. 죄와 악에 관련해서 “나의 행한 것이 무엇인가?” 물어야 합니다.

‘지나간 세월 동안 내가 범한 죄악은 무엇이었던가?’ 자문을 해봐야 합니다. 스스로 물어보고 답해야 스스로 돌이킬 수 있기 때문입니다. 그런데 유다백성들은 그런 질문을 하지 않았습니다. ‘그 악을 뉘우쳐서 나의 행한 것이 무엇인가’라고 말하는 사람을 하나님이 듣고 찾고 보고자 해도 볼 수가 없었다는 말입니다. 뉘우침과 회개가 조금도 없는 유다백성들을 향해서 하나님은 2가지 수사학적인 질문을 던지셨습니다. 본문 4절에 ‘너는 또 그들에게 말하기를 여호와의 말씀에 사람이 엎드러지면 어찌 일어나지 아니하겠으며 사람이 떠나갔으면 어찌 돌아오지 아니하겠느냐?. ’라고 기록되었습니다. 사람이 넘어지면 일어나지 않겠느냐? 사람이 집을 나갔으면 돌아오지 않겠느냐? 그런데 유다백성들은 넘어져도 일어나지 않는 사람 같고, 집을 나가고도 들어오지 않는 사람 같다는 말입니다. 사람이 돌에 걸려, 바나나 껍질에 미끄러져, 유리에 부딪쳐 넘어질 수 있습니다. 넘어지면 일어나는 게 자연스런 현상인데 일어나질 않는 사람이 있습니다. 아이들도 길에서 넘어졌을 때 어른이 일으켜 줄때까지 안 일어나는 경우가 있습니다. 유다백성들은 넘어지고도 안 일어난다는 겁니다. 또 사람이 집을 나가 저녁이 되면 집으로 돌아오는 것이 순리인데 유다백성은 집을 나가서 다시 안 돌아오는 사람 같다는 겁니다. 청소년이 집을 나가 안 들어오면 가출 청소년이라 부르고 어른이 집을 나가서 안 들어오면 노숙자라고 부릅니다. 유다백성들이 꼭 가출 청소년, 노숙자처럼 됐다는 말입니다.

본문 7절에 ‘공중의 학은 그 정한 시기를 알고 반구와 제비와 두루미는 그 올 때를 지키거늘 내 백성은 여호와의 규례를 알지 못하도다 하셨다 하라.’고 기록되었습니다. 학과 산비둘기라고 하는 반구와 제비 그리고 두루미와 같은 새들은 때가 되면 날아갔다 때가 되면 날아오는 철새입니다. 이런 철새들도 때가되면 날아갈 줄을 알고 때가 되면 날아 올 줄을 압니다. 이처럼 짐승도 때가 되면 돌아오는데 하나님의 백성들이 그렇지 못하다는 것입니다. 다시 말해 철새만도 못하다는 것입니다. 죄악은 스스로 묻고 돌이켜야 됩니다. 그리하지 않고 계속가면 반드시 그 죄에 대한 대가를 치르게 돼 있습니다. 죄나 악이나 거짓은 반드시 패망합니다. 공산주의와 같은 거짓 사상이 이길 수 없습니다. 김정은이 왜 체제를 열지(open) 못합니까? 체제를 열면 속인 것이 드러나 체제가 무너지므로 열지 못하는 것입니다. 그러니까 백성을 굶어 죽게 하면서도 전쟁무기만 있으면 나라가 부유해진다고 거짓말을 해서 우리교회 가족의 동족들을 속이고 굶기는 것입니다. 그런데 거짓은 이길 수 없습니다. 거짓에 붙어있는 사람도 이길 수 없습니다.

하나님은 역전의 하나님이십니다. 그리고 그리스도인은 진실이 이긴다는 것을 확신하고 진실 가운데 서야됩니다. 본문 1절로 2절에 ‘1나 여호와가 말하노라 그 때에 사람들이 유다 왕들의 뼈와 그 방백들의 뼈와 제사장들의 뼈와 선지자들의 뼈와 예루살렘 거민의 뼈를 그 묘실에서 끌어내어 2그들의 사랑하며 섬기며 순복하며 구하며 경배하던 해와 달과 하늘의 뭇 별 아래 쬐리니 그 뼈가 거두이거나 묻히지 못하여 지면에서 분토 같을 것이며.1’라고 기록되었습니다. 유다 백성들은 한 성전의 한쪽에서는 하나님을 섬기고 한쪽에서는 동방 태양을 섬겼습니다. 하나님을 섬겨야 될 성전에서 해와 달과 별을 섬겼다는 겁니다. 해를 섬기는 나라들은 국기에 해를, 달을 섬기는 나라들은 국기에 달을, 그리고 별을 섬기는 나라들은 국기에 별을 그렸습니다. 이처럼 해와 달과 별을 섬깁니다. 그런데 해와 달과 별을 섬기는 사람들은 그 뼈도 무덤에 묻히지 못하고 그 뼈가 파내어져 길거리 위에 내동댕이쳐지고 그들이 섬기고 사랑하고 구하고 그토록 숭배했던 해와 달과 별이 그들에게 빛을 쬐고 열을 가해서 뼈가 분토가 되고 가루가 돼 버릴 것이라는 말입니다.

본문 1절에 뼈라는 단어가 많이 나옵니다. 외적이 쳐들어와서 어느 나라를 점령하면 무덤을 다 파헤칩니다. 특별히 왕과 높은 사람 그리고 부자의 무덤을 파헤칩니다. 왜냐하면 부자들은 가지고 있던 금, 은, 보석과 함께 묻히기 때문입니다. 그래서 군대가 쳐들어오면 무덤을 파헤쳐 나오는 보석은 다 가져가고 거기 묻힌 아무 쓸모없는 사람의 뼈는 내동댕이치는 것입니다. 우상숭배하고 해와 달과 별을 섬기던 사람들은 그 뼈가 분토에도 묻히지 못하고 내동댕이쳐져 가루가 되고 분토처럼 될 것이라는 말입니다. 이것이 역전입니다.

본문 3절에 ‘이 악한 족속의 남아 있는 자, 무릇 내게 쫓겨나서 각처에 남아 있는 자가 사는 것보다 죽는 것을 원하리라 만군의 여호와의 말이니라.’고 기록되었습니다. 쫓겨나서 각처에 남아 있는 자는 바벨론에 포로 된 사람을 가리킵니다. 바벨론에 포로 된 사람들은 사는 것보다 차라리 죽는 게 낫다고 말하는 것입니다. 유다백성들은 우상숭배를 원했습니다. 그러자 하나님이 우상숭배를 그렇게 원하냐며 우상 숭배하는 나라로 옮겨 버리신 것입니다. 다시 말해 그 결과가 어떤지 그곳에서 마음껏 우상 숭배를 해보라는 것입니다. 유다백성들은 우상 숭배를 해봤더니 결과는 사는 것보다 죽는 것이 낫다는 결과가 나왔습니다.

사람은 뭔가를 배우는데 두 가지 방식이 있습니다. 하나는 자기가 몸으로 체험해서 배우는 것입니다. 예수 안 믿으면 지옥에 가서 영원한 불 못에 처하게 된다고 듣고도 그렇게 된 후에야 사실이라는 것을 깨닫는 사람입니다. 또 하나는 말씀으로 들어서 아는 것입니다. 그런데 몸으로 체험해서 진리를 알려고 하면 그 대가가 너무 큽니다. 지옥이 뜨겁다는 걸 몸으로 체험하려면 지옥에 가서 영영히 고통을 당하는 대가를 치러야 됩니다. 우상을 숭배하면 어떻게 된다는 것을 알려면 우상 숭배하는 나라에 포로로 끌려가서 우상숭배를 해보고 사는 것보다 죽는 것이 났다는 고통을 겪고 나서야 하나님 말씀이 과연 옳다는 것을 인정하게 됩니다.

이런 유다백성들을 가리켜서 하나님은 본문 6절 후반에서 ‘전장을 향하여 달리는 말 같이.’라고 비유했습니다. 고대 전쟁에서 가장 많이 쓰인 짐승은 단연코 말입니다. 소나 양을 타고 다니며 전쟁을 하진 않습니다. 물론 포에니 전쟁 때 카르타고의 장군이었던 한니발은 코끼리를 이끌고 알프스 산맥을 넘었습니다. 그러나 전쟁에는 단연코 말이 주로 쓰입니다. 왜냐하면 말은 앞에 총이 있든지 칼이 있든지, 죽든지 살든지 그냥 앞으로 달리는 성격을 갖고 있기 때문입니다. 유다 백성들은 바로 전장의 말과 같았습니다. 그런데 사는 길로 달려가는 것이 아니라 죽는 길로, 옳은 길로 달려가는 것이 아니라 그른 길로 달려갔습니다. 그러면서도 돌이키지 아니했다는 것입니다. 본문 5절에 ‘이 예루살렘 백성이 항상 나를 떠나 물러감은 어찜이뇨 그들이 거짓을 고집하고 돌아오기를 거절하도다.’라고 기록되었습니다. ‘하나님, 무슨 말씀을 하시더라도 나는 내 길을 가겠습니다. 목사님, 무슨 얘기를 하시더라도 그건 목사님 생각이지 내 생각은 아닙니다.’라고 말하는 완고한 사람은 전장의 말과 같다는 것입니다.

지난 세월을 되돌아보며 죄와 악이 있으면 ‘내가 행한 일은 무엇이었던가? 내가 무슨 죄악을 범하였던가?’를 자성하며 돌이키시기를 기도합니다. 그 죄악의 길을 계속가게 되면 손해와 수치와 패배와 멸망이 오고 결국 사망이 오는 것입니다. 그때에 그 말씀이 사실이구나하고 체험으로 배우려 하지 마십시오. 스스로 ‘내가 무엇을 행하였던가? 내가 무슨 짓을 하였던가? 부끄럽도다’ 하면서스스로 회개하고 돌이키셔서 하나님께서 다시 은혜를 주시는 하반기가 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.

2. 내 영혼과 관련해서 “나의 행한 것이 무엇인가?” 물어야 합니다.

사람은 육신도 있지만 영혼도 있는 존재입니다. 육신도 잘 관리해야 건강해지지만 영혼도 잘 관리해야 건강해지는 겁니다. 마태복음16장26절에 ‘사람이 만일 온 천하를 얻고도 제 목숨을 잃으면 무엇이 유익하리요 사람이 무엇을 주고 제 목숨을 바꾸겠느냐.’라고 기록되었습니다. 온 천하를 다 얻었다 해도 자기 영혼을 해롭게 했다면 그게 무슨 소용이 있느냐 하는 말입니다.

영혼도 먹어야 합니다. 마태복음4장4절에 ‘예수님께서 대답하여 가라사대 기록되었으되 사람이 떡으로만 살 것이 아니요 하나님의 입으로 나오는 모든 말씀으로 살 것이라.’고 기록되었습니다. 우리 교회 가족의 영혼은 말씀을 먹고 사는 것입니다. 신문이나 TV나 뉴스는 영혼의 양식은 안 됩니다. 주일축복예배 설교 한 편만 듣고 주일찬양기도예배와 수요합심기도예배를 간과해서는 안 됩니다. 주일찬양기도예배와 새벽예배, 수요합심기도예배, 금요철야기도회에도 은혜가 있는 것입니다. 육신도 매일 밥을 먹듯이 말씀도 매일 먹어야 됩니다. 지난 세월 동안 교회 공동체여러분 영혼에 얼마나 먹이셨는지를 생각하시기를 기도합니다.

영혼도 호흡해야 합니다. 영혼의 호흡은 기도입니다. 지난 세월 동안 ‘나의 기도생활은 어떠했던가? 지난 6개월 동안 기도와 관련해서 나는 얼마나 시간을 드렸던가? 나의 행한 것이 무엇이던가?’ 이것을 생각해야 됩니다. 세상 사람들과 성도를 구별하는 가장 결정적인 기준은 기도생활입니다. 세상 사람들은 하나님께 기도하지 않습니다. 그러나 우리교회 가족들은 하나님께 기도합니다. 바울 사도가 된 사울은 다메섹 도상에서 부활하신 예수 그리스도를 만났습니다. 그리고 그가 처음 한 일은 기도였습니다. 사도행전9장11절에 ‘주께서 가라사대 일어나 직가라 하는 거리로 가서 유다 집에서 다소 사람 사울이라 하는 자를 찾으라 저가 기도하는 중이다.’라고 기록되었습니다. 하나님께서 우리교회 공동체를 찾으실 때 도박하는 중이라던가, 술 마시는 중이라 한다면 얼마나 부끄럽겠습니까? 하나님이 찾으실 때에 ‘저는 기도하는 중이라’는 말을 들으시는 교회 공동체가 되시기를 기도합니다. 초대교회가 세상과 결정적으로 구별되는 것은 기도하는 교회였다는 것입니다. 기도함으로 오순절 성령을 받았고 기도함으로 외적인 핍박과 내적인 부패를 이겨냈습니다. 어떤 분은 기도해도 전혀 응답을 못 받았다고 합니다. 그런데 기도해서 영혼이 숨을 쉬고 영혼이 살아가는 것이 응답보다 더 중요한 것입니다. 그러므로 지난 세월을 되돌아보며 내가 입술을 다물고 기도하지 아니했구나하는 분은 다시 기도를 회복하시기를 기도합니다.

영혼도 휴식해야 합니다. 영혼의 휴식은 좋은 교회 공동체들과 교제를 나누는 것입니다. 구역에 속해 구역공동체들과도 교제를 나눠야 됩니다. 구역공동체들과 같이 식사도 하시고 등산도 같이 가시며 교제를 나눠야 됩니다. 나는 나 홀로 믿고, 나 홀로 살고, 나 홀로 가리라고 하지 마십시오. 하나님께서는 우리교회 공동체들은 다 한 피를 받아 한 몸을 이룬 한 형제들이라고 하셨습니다. 그러므로 서로 교제를 통해서 안식을 얻고 힘을 얻기 원하십니다. 온 천하의 재물과 권세를 얻고자 이리 뛰고 저리 뛰며 바쁘게 지내다가 자기 영혼에게는 아무런 유익도 못주고 영혼이 병들었다면 무슨 소용이 있습니까?

사람은 언젠가 반드시 죽는데 재물과 권세를 꼭 붙들고 이것이 날 살리라며 죽을 때까지 놓지 못하시는 분을 보면 참으로 이상하다는 생각이 듭니다. 죽을 때 못 가지고 가는 것을 왜 그렇게 붙들고 계신지 알 수 없습니다. 온 천하를 다 얻었다 해도 영혼이 병들고 영혼을 해치면 아무 유익이 없는 것입니다. 그러므로 6개월이 지난 이 시점에서 우리교회 공동체는 생각해야 됩니다. ‘나는 지난 세월동안 내 영혼을 위해서 무엇을 행하였던가? 내 영혼을 무엇으로 먹였던가? 내 영혼은 호흡을 제대로 했던가? 내 영혼은 휴식을 제대로 했던가?’ 생각하고 다시 조용히 성경책을 펼치시고 성경과 가까워지십시오. 그리고 조용히 입술을 열어 일을 시작할 때 기도하고 끝날 때 기도하고 하루 종일, 일마다 기도하는 그런 교회 공동체가 되시기를 주님의 이름으로 축원합니다.

3. 교회와 관련해서 “나의 행한 것이 무엇인가?” 물어야 합니다.

우리교회 공동체는 예수 믿고 구원받았습니다. 그런데 구원으로 끝이 아닙니다. 구원해 주신 목적은 선한 일을 행하라는 겁니다. 에베소서2장10절 전반에 ‘우리는 그의 만드신 바라 그리스도 예수 안에서 선한 일을 위하여 지으심을 받은 자니.라고 기록되었습니다. 은혜로 인하여 믿음으로 말미암아 구원을 받은 사람은 하나님의 작품인데 하나님이 작품을 만드신 목적은 선한 일을 하도록 하기 위함이라 하는 말입니다.

찬송가 185장은 교회 공동체여러분들의 간증이 얽힌 찬송가 입니다. 독일의 유명한 화가였던 슈테른베르크(Shternberg)는 가시 면류관을 쓰시고 군중들 앞에서 십자가에 못 박혀 피 흘리시는 그리스도 예수님의 그림을 그렸습니다. 그 그림의 제목은 ‘이 사람을 보라(Ecce Homo)’입니다. 그런데 그 그림 밑에는 ‘나는 너를 위하여 이렇게 해 주었는데 너는 나는 위하여 무엇을 하였느냐?’라고 하는 글이 씌어져 있었습니다. 19세기 중반에 영국의 헤버겔(Frances R. Havergal)이라는 여자가 독일에 유학을 했습니다. 그런데 그 여자가 독일에서 슈테른베르크의 그리스도 그림을 보고 그 밑에 씌어져 있는 글씨를 보다가 감동을 받아 찬송가 185장을 작시한 것입니다. ‘내 너를 위하여 몸 버려 피 흘려 네 죄를 속하여 살길을 주었다 너 위해 몸을 주건만 날 무엇 주느냐? 너 위해 몸을 주건만 날 무엇 주느냐?’ 이것이 바로 헤버겔의 첫 번째 찬송가가 된 것입니다.

우리교회 공동체는 예수 그리스도께 헌신되어 예수 그리스도를 위해 일해야 됩니다. 헌신된 한 명이 헌신되지 않은 천 명보다 강한 겁니다. 헌신이란 이렇게 중요한 겁니다. 그런데 우리교회 가족은 어떻게 예수 그리스도께 헌신할 수 있습니까? 예수를 위해 어떻게 일할 수 있습니까? 교회를 위해 일하는 게 예수를 위해 일하는 겁니다. 왜냐하면 교회는 그리스도의 몸이기 때문입니다. 예수님은 교회의 머리이십니다. 잃어버린 영혼 구원을 위해서 교회는 올해 ‘1+3’의 목표를 세웠습니다. 그리고 교회 가족여러분들이 전도하십니다. ‘교회는 이처럼 전도 목표를 세우고 전도하는데 나는 무엇을 행하였던가?’ 생각해 보십시오. 이제 후반기에는 전도 집회도 열려고 합니다. 전도 집회를 열 때에 ‘1+3’ 즉, 한 분이 세 분 전도하는 이것을 꼭 마음에 두시고 세 명을 점찍었다 전도 집회 때 다 데려오시기를 기도합니다.

교회가 선교를 위해 애쓸 때에 여러분은 무슨 일을 행하셨습니까? 선교사님들은 목숨을 걸고 선교합니다. 선교지에서 교회를 금방 부흥시키지 못해도 선교지에 가있다는 것만으로 참 어려운 것입니다. 우리 대한민국의 선교 목표는 중국입니다. 중국에 교회를 많이 세우기를 기도합니다. 우리 교회가 중국에 최소한 열 교회 이상 세우기를 기도합니다. 우리교회 공동체는 15억이 넘는 수 많은 중국 영혼들을 위해 기도해야 됩니다. 중국에 교회를 하나 세우는 것이 태평양에 돌 하나 던지는 것에 불과하다고 할지라도 우리는 교회를 세워야 됩니다.

그런데 교회가 선교를 했을 때 여러분은 무슨 일을 행하셨습니까? 교회가 무너진 곳을 수축할 때에 여러분은 무슨 헌신을 하셨습니까? 저는 목회자들 모임에서 어느 미국 선교사님 이야기를 들었습니다. 그 선교사님은 지방회를 위해서 일하시는 분으로 어느 교회에 출석하고 있었습니다. 그런데 지방회 목사님들이 그 선교사님께 “당신은 지방회 선교사님인데 왜 십일조를 지방회에 내지 않고 당신이 출석하는 교회에 냅니까?”라고 물었습니다. 그러자 그 선교사님이 “내가 밥 먹는 곳에 밥값 내는데 잘못됐습니까?”라고 대답했습니다. 물론 십일조는 밥값이 아닙니다. 그러나 이 선교사님이 한국교회 목회자들에게 가르치고자 한 것은 십일조는 자신이 출석하고 말씀을 듣는 교회에 내라는 것입니다. 교회에 내야 될 헌금과 십일조를 자기 몫으로 하는 것도 좋지 않거니와 또 자기가 여기저기 인심 쓰고 나눠주는 것도 좋은 게 아닙

1. 두배부흥 전도축제를 통하여 교회에 영혼구원의 열매가 맺어지게 하소서.
