제목: 전도는 사명이다.

본문: 고린도전서 9:14~19절

14이와 같이 주님께서도 복음 전하는 사람들이 복음으로 말미암아 살리라 명하셨느니라. 15그러나 내가 이것을 하나도 쓰지 아니하였고 또 이 말을 쓰는 것은 내게 이같이 하여 달라는 것이 아니라 내가 차라리 죽을지언정 누구든지 내 자랑하는 것을 헛된 데로 돌리지 못하게 하리라. 16내가 복음을 전할지라도 자랑할 것이 없음은 내가 부득불 할 일임이라. 만일 복음을 전하지 아니하면 내게 화가 있을 것이로다. 17내가 내 자의로 이것을 행하면 상을 얻으려니와 내가 자의로 아니한다 할지라도 나는 사명을 받았노라. 18그런즉 내 상이 무엇이냐? 내가 복음을 전할 때에 값없이 전하고 복음으로 말미암아 내게 있는 권리를 다 쓰지 아니하는 이것이로다. 19내가 모든 사람에게서 자유로우나 스스로 모든 사람에게 종이 된 것은 더 많은 사람을 얻고자 함이라. 아멘.

전도헌장을 다 같이 외치겠습니다.

두배 부흥 전도축제 5대 헌장
첫째 (명령) 예수님의 명령에 순종한다.
둘째 (사명) 전도의 사명을 이루어 하나님 앞에서 상급 받는다.
셋째 (구원) 사람들이 날마다 구원받는 교회가 되게 한다.
넷째 (헌신) 전도를 위해 서로 기도하고 힘을 주고 격려하고 헌금한다.
다섯째 (희생) 두배 부흥 전도 축제를 위하여 생명 걸고 전도한다.

설교문:

오늘은 두 번째 헌장인 사명에 대한 말씀을 전하려고 합니다. 두 번째 헌장을 다시 읽겠습니다. ‘전도의 사명을 이루어 하나님 앞에서 상급 받는다.’

믿음으로 사는 것은 경주하는 것과 같습니다. 하나님은 믿음의 경주를 통해서 상주시기를 원하십니다. 상을 주시는 것은 선의의 경쟁을 통해서 최선의 결과를 만들고 잘 한 것을 격려하시려는 하나님의 의도가 숨겨져 있습니다. 이 세상의 모든 운동 경기도 잘한 자들에게 상을 주는 시스템을 이 있습니다. 성경 시대인 2천 년 전에도 올림픽 경기가 있었습니다. 지금의 올림픽 게임은 100년이 조금 넘었지만 그 기원은 참 오래된 경기입니다. 고대 올림픽 경기(Olympic games)는 제우스신을 기념하기 위해 올림피아드에서 4년에 한 번 씩 그리스 지역에서 개최되었습니다.

한편 오늘 말씀의 배경인 고린도에서도 이스미안(Isthmian games) 경기가 있었다고 합니다. 이 대회는 바다의 신 포세이돈을 기념하며 2년 주기로 마다 대회가 열렸다고 합니다. 5종목이 있었는데, 달리기, 높이뛰기, 원반던지기, 투창, 레슬링이 있었고, 승리한 사람에게는 올리브 잎이나 종려나무 잎으로 만든 화관을 상으로 수여하여 명예를 높였다는 기록이 있습니다. 사도 바울은 고린도전서9:24절에서 “운동장에서 달음질하는 사람들이 다 달릴지라도 오직 상을 받는 사람은 한 사람인 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐? 너희도 상을 받도록 이와 같이 달음질하라.”고 말씀합니다. 많은 학자들은 사도 바울이 고린도 교회 공동체들에게 편지 쓸 때 이 체육대회를 생각하면서 말씀했다고 합니다. 수만 관중에 둘러싸인 경기장에서 전심전력하며 달리는 선수들을 사도 바울은 연상하면서 교회 공동체들도 믿음의 경주를 해야 한다고 권면했다는 것입니다.

믿음의 경주를 다 한 후에 하나님의 상급이 있다는 것입니다. 히브리서12:1절에도 “이러므로 우리에게 구름 같이 둘러싼 허다한 증인들이 있으니 모든 무거운 것과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고 인내로써 우리 앞에 당한 경주를 하며 믿음의 주요, 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수님을 바라보자.” 이 말씀을 한 번 상상해 보시기를 기도합니다. 믿음의 경주자들이 예수님이라는 푯대를 바라보고 결승점까지 열심히 달려갑니다. 그리고 완주한 후에 허다한 증인들에 둘러 쌓여 있는 천국 시상대에 서 있습니다. 하나님이 다가 오셔서 머리에 면류관을 씌여 주시며 “착하고 충성된 종아 수고했노라.”라는 칭찬을 해 주십니다. 이런 상황이 실제로 일어났다면 얼마나 영광스럽고 가슴 벅찬 일이겠습니까? 사랑하는 교회 공동체여러분! 이것은 가상의 일이 아니라 말씀대로 우리교회 공동체에게 이루어 질 것입니다. 여기에 모인 한 분 한 분이 믿음의 경주 후에 천국에서 면류관을 다 받는 은혜가 있기를 축복합니다.

믿음의 경주는 자기 마음대로 달리는 것이 아니라 사명으로 달려가야 합니다. 운동선수들이 숨이 턱까지 차오르는 고통을 수 없이 이겨내고, 포기하고 싶은 고통의 순간들을 끝까지 참아 내어야 승리하는 자가 받는 상을 받습니다. 그것은 자신들이 열심히 일한 공정한 보상으로 상을 받는 것입니다. 이것은 사람이 개인의 목표를 이루기 위해 열심히 일한 것에 따라 이 땅의 보상을 받는 것입니다. 개인적 성취는 자기만족과 자기명예와 자기필요를 채우는 것입니다. 그러나 사명은 개인적 목표를 성취하는 것과 다른 것입니다.

사명은 언제나 더 높은 차원의 기여를 이루는 것을 말합니다. 자신을 위해서가 아니라 타인, 즉 가정 공동체와 나라와 민족을 위해 가슴을 불태우는 것입니다. 그래서 위대한 선수는 자신의 명예가 아니라 타인의 유익을 위해 달리는 사명자입니다. 사명으로 달리는 선수가 끝까지 완주하는 것이고 가치 있는 상을 받는 것입니다. 믿음의 경주도 마찬가지입니다. 그래서 복음을 전하는 사람은 사명이 필요합니다. 믿음의 경주도 이 사명으로 달려야 합니다. 복음 전도자도 이 사명으로 달려야 합니다. 그러면 사명을 품은 복음 전도자가 어떻게 믿음의 경주를 달려야 하는지를 살펴보겠습니다.

첫째, 복음 전도자는 상급을 바라봅니다.

믿음의 경주자에게 사명은 무엇입니까? 하나님 나라의 상급입니다. 마태복음5:12절에 “기뻐하고 즐거워하라. 하늘에서 너희의 상이 큼이라. 너희 전에 있던 선지자들도 이같이 박해하였느니라.”라고 말씀합니다. 여기서 ‘하늘에서 너희의 상’은 개인적인 것이 아니라 하나님 나라를 위한 일을 하다가 받는 ‘하늘의 상급’(reward in heaven)을 의미합니다. 사도 바울은 빌립보서3:14절에서 하늘의 상을 말씀합니다. “푯대를 향하여 그리스도 예수님 안에서 하나님이 위에서 부르신 부름의 상을 위하여 달려가노라.” 여기서도 ‘하나님이 위에서 부르신 부름의 상’을 말하면서 하늘의 상급을 위해서 믿음의 경주를 할 것을 권면합니다. 이 하늘의 상급을 위해 일하는 것이 사명입니다.

지금 많은 사람들이 이 땅에서 보상을 다 받으려고 하다가 사명을 잃어버렸습니다. 이 땅의 보상에 연연하면 천국에서 받을 상급은 사라집니다. 예수님이 “왼손이 하는 일을 오른 손이 모르게 하라.”고 말씀하신 이유가 무엇입니까? 칭찬 받을 일도 모르게 하라는 것입니다. 그래야 하늘에서 상급을 받는다는 말입니다. 이 땅에서 이미 다 받았으므로 더 이상의 상급은 없습니다. 그래서 모든 교회 공동체가 ‘개인적 보상’보다 ‘하늘의 상급’을 받는 일에 참여하는 것이 지혜로운 것입니다. 이것은 자신의 유익과 명예를 채우는 것이 아니라 하나님 나라를 위한 ‘사명적 교회’를 세우자는 것입니다. 이러한 열망으로 최선을 다해 전도하고, 기도하고, 땀 흘려 씨앗을 뿌리면 하나님의 위대한 사명자들이 되는 것입니다. 우리교회 공동체가 사명으로 전할 복음의 내용도 이러한 것입니다. 전도는 이 땅의 보상이 필요는 하지만 절대적인 것이 아니라는 것을 알리는 것입니다.

누가복음16장에 있는 부자와 거지 나사로 이야기를 잘 아실 것입니다. 부자는 최고급의 브렌드 옷을 입고 날마다 호화로운 잔치를 하며 삽니다. 그리고 가난한 거지 나사로는 부자의 대문 앞에서 음식 쓰레기를 주어먹으며 비참하게 살았습니다. 그것도 동네 개들과 경쟁하며 싸우는 불쌍한 삶이었습니다(19~21절 19한 부자가 있어 자색 옷과 고운 베옷을 입고 날마다 호화로이 연락하는데 20나사로라 이름한 한 거지가 헌데를 앓으며 그 부자의 대문에 누워 21부자의 상에서 떨어지는 것으로 배불리려 하매 심지어 개들이 와서 그 헌데를 핥더라.). 어느 날 두 사람 모두 죽었습니다. 거지는 죽어 아브라함 품에 편히 안겼는데, 부자는 지옥에 떨어졌습니다. 불에 타들어가는 고통 속에서 절규하며 도움을 요청했지만 거절의 메시지가 들렸습니다. “아브라함이 이르되 얘 너는 살았을 때에 좋은 것을 받았고 나사로는 고난을 받았으니 이것을 기억하라. 이제 그는 여기서 위로를 받고 너는 괴로움을 받느니라.”(25절).

이것이 하나님이 정하신 ‘보상의 법칙’입니다. 부자는 세상의 보상을 이 땅에서 완벽하게 누리며 살았습니다. 하늘의 상급은 관심조차 없습니다. 그에게 이 보상은 절대적이었습니다. 아브라함은 그를 향해 “애 너는 살았을 때에 좋은 것을 받았고” 이제 영원히 “너는 괴로움을 받는다.”는 말씀입니다. 부자는 세상의 보상이 끝으로 모든 좋은 일이 끝났다는 것입니다. 그리고 영원한 지옥의 고통이 이어지는 것입니다.

반대로 거지 나사로는 이 땅에서 하나도 보상을 받지 못한 채 저주받은 사람처럼 살았습니다. 그러나 결과는 완전히 달랐습니다. “나사로는 고난을 받았으니 이것을 기억하라. 이제 그는 여기서 위로를 받고.”(25절 하반절). 이 땅에서 받지 못한 보상에 대한 큰 위로가 있다는 것입니다. 이 땅에서 우리교회 공동체는 자의든 타의든 보상의 혜택을 누리지 못할 수 있습니다. 그러나 우리교회 공동체 앞에는 영원한 위로가 기다리고 있습니다. 이 땅의 부귀영화와 비교할 수 없는 ‘하늘의 위로’가 기다린다는 것을 믿으십니까? 이것이 이 말씀의 핵심입니다.

전도는 세상의 보상이 전부다는 사람들에게 종말의 슬픔을 경고하는 일입니다. 19세기에 니체는 “신은 죽었다.”고 했습니다. 이제 인간은 신으로부터 자유하다고 선언했습니다. 수많은 사람들이 그의 사상의 영향을 받아 영혼을 위한 일은 쓸모없는 일로 규정하게 되었습니다. 지금 보이는 세상이 전부라는 것입니다. 그러므로 그들에게는 땅의 보상을 다 누리는 것이 행복이며 성공이 되는 것입니다. 그 희생양이 누구입니까? 공산주의자들, 유물론자들, 현실주의자들입니다. 그들은 현실과 물질세계만 있다고 믿는 사람들입니다. 공산주의자들이 외친 구호가 무엇인지 아십니까? ‘종교는 아편이다’는 것입니다. 그들은 주장하기를, 기독교는 마약과 같아서 사람의 정신을 혼미하게 만드는 허구이며, 인간의 정신세계를 파멸하는 종교라는 것입니다. 그래서 공산주의화가 된 곳은 철저하게 교회를 탄압합니다. 오직 물질세계만을 믿으라는 것입니다. 그 결과가 지금 북한의 현실입니다. 누가복음에서 지옥에 떨어진 부자는 그 사상을 받아들여 세상의 보상만을 누리다가 처참한 곳에 떨어진 사람의 모습을 반영한 것입니다.

왜 우리교회 공동체가 전도해야 합니까? 왜 우리교회 공동체는 믿음으로 살아야 합니까? 왜 지금의 유익이 아니라 천국의 상급을 추구해야 합니까? 세상의 보상이 절대적이라고 믿는 자들의 허구성을 알기 때문입니다. 이 땅의 보상만 바라보다가 절망적인 종말에 처하지 않기 위해서입니다. 모두가 하나님 나라에 들어가서 상급 받기 위해서입니다. 그래서 우리교회 공동체는 이 복음을 외치는 사명자가 되어야 합니다.

주님은 이 땅의 보상과 천국의 상급의 분명한 우선순위를 지키라고 명령하셨습니다. 마태복음6:33절에서 “그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라.”고 말씀했습니다. 하나님 나라에 우선순위를 둘 때 이 땅의 보상은 보너스로 더하신다는 말씀입니다. 상여급(bonus)은 정기적 임금(wage)와 다릅니다. 보너스를 본봉인 것처럼 여기지 말라는 말씀입니다. 이 우선순위가 뒤바뀌므로 사명 없이 살아가는 것입니다.

이 사명으로 사는 것이 어려운 일입니다. 왜냐하면 이 땅의 많은 사람들이 세상의 보상을 절대화하기 때문입니다. 땅의 보상만이 절대적이라는 가치관을 가진 사람들이 세상을 지배하며 살고 있기 때문입니다. 그러므로 사명을 따르는 자는 항상 소수입니다. 예수님도 마태복음7:13~14절에서 “13좁은 문으로 들어가라. 멸망으로 인도하는 문은 크고 그 길이 넓어 그리로 들어가는 사람이 많고 14생명으로 인도하는 문은 좁고 길이 협착하여 찾는 사람이 적음이라.”고 말씀하셨습니다. 사명자의 길은 좁고 협착하고 외로운 길입니다.

의인의 삶은 외로운 믿음의 솔로가 되어도 그 사명을 지켜내는 것입니다. 노아를 보십시오. 세상은 맑은 하늘에 홍수가 내린다는 헛소리를 하지 말라고 윽박지릅니다. 그래서 노아는 방주를 짓는 사명을 이루기 위해 외로이 이런 소리를 들으며 살아야 했습니다. 사명을 이루기 위해서는 언제나 세상의 시대정신과 맞서 싸울 용기가 필요합니다. 때로는 시대를 거슬러 올라가는 역경과 고난을 헤쳐 나가야 합니다. 마치 연어가 자기가 태어난 고향을 찾아 가기 위해 죽음을 각오하고 강줄기를 거슬러 올라가는 것과 같습니다. 이처럼 사명의 길을 가기 위해서는 세상의 저항을 이겨내고 달려가는 믿음의 인내와 용기가 필요합니다.

주일을 지키는 것도 대단한 저항을 이겨내는 일입니다. “하루라도 더 돈을 벌어야 산다. 경쟁자를 이기려면 주일도 쉬지 말고 공부해야 한다. 지금 즐기지 않으면 즐길 기회는 없다.”고 세상을 말합니다. 이런 세상에서 주일을 지키는 것도 대단한 용기가 필요합니다. 우리교회 가족은 세상을 향해 복음을 전해야 합니다. 이 세상의 보상이 절대적인 것이 아니라는 것을 말해야 합니다. 보상의 절대성에 대한 허구를 외쳐야 합니다. 그러다가 갑자기 끝 날에 찾아올 괴로운 일이 있다는 것을 알려주어야 합니다. 이것을 외치는 것이 전도이며, 사람들이 하나님께로 돌아와서 회개하고 구원 받고 영원한 천국에 들어가고 하나님께 영광을 돌리는 삶을 사는 것이 진정한 복이라는 것을 알려 주어야 합니다. 이것이 복음입니다. 이것을 전하는 것이 복음 전도입니다. 이것이 복음 전도자의 사명입니다. 이 말씀을 단지 한 주의 설교로만 듣지 말고 나가서 전도하는 메시지로 받아들이시기를 기도합니다.

둘째, 복음 전도자는 복음으로 삽니다.

사도 바울은 본문 14절에서 “이와 같이 주께서도 복음 전하는 사람들이 복음으로 말미암아 살리라 명하셨느니라.”고 말씀했습니다. 여기서 사도 바울은 복음 전도자는 복음으로 산다고 했습니다. 복음으로 산다는 의미는 무엇입니까? 복음만이 있으면 충분히 살 수 있다는 확신을 갖는 것입니다(15~16절 15그러나 내가 이것을 하나도 쓰지 아니하였고 또 이 말을 쓰는 것은 내게 이같이 하여 달라는 것이 아니라 내가 차라리 죽을지언정 누구든지 내 자랑하는 것을 헛된 데로 돌리지 못하게 하리라 16내가 복음을 전할지라도 자랑할 것이 없음은 내가 부득불 할 일임이라 만일 복음을 전하지 아니하면 내게 화가 있을 것임이로라.). 교회 공동체는 복음을 전하는 자들이고, 그들은 복음 때문에 산다는 것입니다. 이런 사람들은 복음을 자랑하며 삽니다. 전도자는 복음이면 충분하다고 믿기에 그것을 자랑하는 것입니다. 이것이 복음을 중심하는 교회입니다. 이는 온 교회 공동체가 “나는 복음 때문에 삽니다.”라고 고백하는 교회입니다. 사람을 변화시켜서 교회로 데리고 올 정도 되려면 복음의 절대성, 복음의 충분성을 보여주어야 합니다. 이것이 복음으로 사는 사람의 전도법입니다.

교회에 나왔지만 복음으로 충분하지 않다고 생각하는 사람은 다시 교회를 떠나는 사람들이 늘어가고 있습니다. 복음을 믿고 교회에는 나왔지만 아직도 이 땅에 보상이 없으면 살 수 없다고 말하는 불행이 반복되고 있습니다. 삶 속에서 복음이 아무런 삶에 영향력을 주지 않고, 복음에 매료되지 못하고, 복음의 능력을 체험하지 못한채 교회에 오래 다니면 복음과 멀어진 사람이 될 수밖에 없습니다. 복음을 믿는다고 하면서 어려움이 생기면 바로 무너져 내리는 사람입니다. 이들은 미지근한 믿음을 가진 라오디게아 교인과 같습니다. 요한계시록3:15~16절에 “15내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 차지도 아니하고 뜨겁지도 아니하도다 네가 차든지 뜨겁든지 하기를 원하노라. 16네가 이같이 미지근하여 뜨겁지도 아니하고 차지도 아니하니 내 입에서 너를 토하여 버리리라.”고 말씀했습니다. 차지도 덥지 않는 미지근한 사람은 주님께서 내어 뱉으시겠다는 것입니다. 이것도 저것도 아닌 것처럼 믿지 말아야 합니다. 교회 공동체가 무기력함에서 일어나는 길은 복음이신 예수님 안에 확고하게 거하는 것입니다. 우리교회 공동체는 교회에 나왔으니 복음을 확실히 믿고, 복음이면 살 수 있다는 확신 속에서 살아야 합니다.

요한복음15:4~5절에 “4내 안에 거하라. 나도 너희 안에 거하리라. 가지가 포도나무에 붙어 있지 아니하면 스스로 열매를 맺을 수 없음 같이 너희도 내 안에 있지 아니하면 그러하리라. 5나는 포도나무요 너희는 가지라. 그가 내 안에, 내가 그 안에 거하면 사람이 열매를 많이 맺나니 나를 떠나서는 너희가 아무 것도 할 수 없음이라.” 예수님이면 충분하다는 믿음을 가져야 합니다. 예수님은 천국 갈 때만 필요한 분이 아닙니다. 지금 내 삶의 풍성한 열매를 위해서 하루라도 더 일찍 만나야 하는 분입니다. 그분 안에 거하면 풍성한 삶의 열매가 맺히는 것입니다. 우리교회 공동체가 왜 힘들게 교회에 나오고 교회를 세우고 예수님을 중심으로 살아가자고 말하면서 믿고 따르고 있습니까? 그분이 우리교회 공동체의 가능성(our possibility)이기 때문입니다. 그분 안에서만 모든 가능성이 열려 있기 때문입니다. 사도 바울은 예수님 안에서 모든 가능성을 바라본 사람입니다. 그래서 빌립보서4:13절에서 “내게 능력 주시는 사람 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라.”고 말씀했습니다. 교회가 능력 있는 교회가 되고, 영향력 있는 교회가 되려면 복음의 능력에 사로잡혀야 합니다. 예수님의 능력을 맛보아야 전도가 됩니다. 절망, 좌절, 실패, 질병 속에서 예수님을 만나 재기(recovery)한 경험이 있어야 합니다. 그 사람은 예수님만 있으면 살 수 있다는 확실한 믿음을 가집니다.

하박국3:17~19절에 위대한 재기의 선언이 있습니다. “17비록 무화과나무가 무성하지 못하며 포도나무에 열매가 없으며 감람나무에 소출이 없으며 밭에 먹을 것이 없으며 우리에 양이 없으며 외양간에 소가 없을지라도 18나는 여호와로 말미암아 즐거워하며 나의 구원의 하나님으로 말미암아 기뻐하리로다. 19주님 여호와는 나의 힘이시라 나의 발을 사슴과 같게 하사 나를 나의 높은 곳으로 다니게 하시리로다.” 이것이 보상을 넘어 상급을 바라보는 성도의 외침입니다. 하나님이 나의 힘이고 보상이다는 것입니다. 하나님의 능력이 내게 임하는 것이 기도의 응답입니다. 내가 무엇을 받았느냐?가 아니라 하나님이 나와 함께 하신다는 것을 깨닫는 것이 그 무엇보다도 중요한 기도응답입니다.

사람들은 무엇에 감동을 받습니까? 세상에 없는 재기에 대한 복음의 이야기(gospel story)를 듣고 감동합니다. 많은 수익을 창출한 이야기, 단기간에 출세한 이야기는 부럽기는 해도 감동적인 이야기는 아닙니다. 이 땅에서 보상을 크게 받았다는 것은 잠시 위로가 될 수 있지만 사람의 마음을 바꿀 만큼의 격한 감동을 주지는 못합니다. 진정한 감동은 내가 망했을 때, 병들어 쓰러졌을 때, 사람 때문에 상처를 받았을 때도 복음으로 다시 일어선 이야기가 감동적입니다. 비록 절망의 상태에서도 “난 하나님을 만나서 기쁘다.”, “주 여호와는 나의 힘이시다.”고 고백이 나올 때 사람들은 그 하나님을 만나고 싶어 합니다. 복음의 능력에 환호하는 교회와 교회 공동체가 되어야 세상에 감동적 이야기를 전해줄 수 있습니다. 복음이 내 삶의 뒤흔드는 기적 같은 일들을 만들어내고 간증 하는 살아있는 교회 공동체가 되어야 합니다. 그런 사람이 전도할 때 전도 받는 사람에게도 기적이 일어납니다.

이것이 가장 사람들의 마음을 울리는 감동의 메아리가 됩니다. 이 감동의 스토리를 만들어내어 사람을 주께로 이끄는 전도 사명자가 되기를 기도합니다. 복음이 전해지는 곳에는 언제나 놀라운 기적이 나타나 승리의 환호성이 넘치게 됩니다. 본문 30~31절입니다. “30손을 내밀어 병을 낫게 하시옵고 표적과 기사가 거룩한 종 예수님 이름으로 이루어지게 하옵소서 하더라. 31빌기를 다하매 모인 곳이 진동하더니 무리가 다 성령님 충만하여 담대히 하나님의 말씀을 전하니라.” 담대히 복음을 전한 후에 병 고침과 표적과 기적이 일어났습니다. 이것이 복음의 능력입니다.

복음은 예수님이 우리를 구원하시기 위해 이 땅에 오셨다는 ‘기쁜 소식’(Good News)을 말합니다. 복음을 떠나면 사람은 삶의 기쁨을 찾을 수 없다는 것입니다. 예수님 으면 분명한 인생의 방향을 찾을 수 없기에 복음을 전해야 하는 것입니다. 예수님을 알아야 가정 공동체가 살고, 사회가 살고, 가정이 살고, 개인이 사는 것입니다. 예수님이 삶의 유일한 길, 진리, 생명, 방향이라는 것을 알려주는 것이 전도입니다. 그래서 예수님 이름, 복음이면 충분하고 복음 하나면 되는 것입니다. 복음에 더할 것은 없습니다. 복음은 구원의 문제뿐만 아니라 삶의 문제를 푸는 열쇠입니다. 복음은 우리교회 공동체가 세상을 살아가면서 겪는 다양한 일들을 풀어 주는 핵심입니다. 복음은 삶의 중심입니다. 세상 사람들에게 이 구원의 방향을 알려 주어야 합니다. 혼자서 믿음의 길을 가지 말아야 합니다. 내 보상이 작아도 없어도 만족한 삶을 사는 승리가 선언되어야 합니다. 복음이면 충분하다고 믿는 사람들은 ‘복음중심교회’를 세워야 합니다.

셋째, 복음 전도자는 교회세움(church planting)으로 상급을 받습니다.

우리교회 공동체는 무엇을 해야 하나님 나라에서 상급을 받습니까?

1) 전도하여 영혼을 구원할 때 천국 상급이 있습니다.

전도를 통해 구원한 사람이 천국 상급입니다. 데살로니가전서 2:19절에 “우리의 소망이나 기쁨이나 자랑의 면류관이 무엇이냐? 그분이 강림하실 때 우리 구세주 예수님 앞에 너희가 아니냐?”고 말씀합니다. 내가 전도해서 사람을 구원하면 그 사람이 천국에서 내 면류관인 상급이라는 말입니다. 전도한 사람이 상급입니다. 사람은 실망과 상처를 주기도 하시만 희망과 상급을 주기도 합니다. 그러므로 사람들 속으로 들어가고 사람들 속에서 기회를 찾아야 합니다.

2) 교회를 세울 때 천국 상급이 있습니다.

상급은 교회세움(church planting)에 있습니다. 고린도전서3:14~15절입니다. “14만일 누구든지 그 위에 세운 공적이 그대로 있으면 상을 받고 15누구든지 그 공적이 불타면 해를 받으리니 그러나 자신은 구원을 받되 불 가운데서 받은 것 같으리라.” 우리교회 공동체가 구원받는 날에 하나님 앞에서 공적을 평가 받습니다. 구원 받는 날이 상급을 받는 날입니다. 금, 은, 보석, 나무, 풀 짚으로 교회를 세우지만 마지막 날에 불로 그 공적을 태운다고 했습니다. 불타지 않는 공적은 오직 예수 이름뿐이라고 했습니다. 금, 은, 보석인 복음만이 불타지 않는 내 상급입니다. 아무리 교회에서 많은 일을 해도 복음의 일을 하지 않으면 상급은 없습니다.

그래서 사도 바울은 계속해서 복음의 일을 강조하고 있습니다. 사도 바울은 본문 14절에서 “이와 같이 주님께서도 복음 전하는 사람들이 복음으로 말미암아 살리라 명하셨느니라.”고 말씀했습니다. 복음을 위해서라면 내 모든 권리를 주장하지 않겠다는 것입니다. 내 중심이 아니라 복음 중심으로 살 때 하나님의 상급이 있습니다. 복음중심의 교회를 세울 때 상급이 있습니다.

잠시 복음으로 교회를 세우는 법에 대해서 말씀을 드리겠습니다. 그것은 복음중심의 교회를 세우는 것입니다. 본문 18절에 “그런즉 내 상이 무엇이냐? 내가 복음을 전할 때에 값없이 전하고 복음으로 말미암아 내게 있는 권리를 다 쓰지 아니하는 이것이로다.” 복음이 중심 되는 교회는 복음을 위하여 자기 자랑과 자신의 권리를 주장하지 않습니다. 오직 복음만을 자랑하고 복음의 유익을 생각합니다. 대가를 바라지 않고 복음을 전하고 복음을 위해서라면 자기 권리를 주장하지 않겠다는 것입니다. 그래서 사도 바울은 끝없이 복음의 일을 하고자 했던 것입니다. 교회에서 율법주의자들과 끊임없이 싸운 것입니다. 율법주의자들은 불타 없어질 나무, 풀, 짚 같은 자기 공적으로 교회를 섬깁니다. 하나님은 내 공적, 내 자랑, 내 영광으로 한 일은 상급을 주시지 않습니다. 그래서 사도 바울이 집요할 정도로 교회세움(church planting)에 있어서 복음의 일이 중요하다고 강조한 것입니다. 예수를 위해 그분의 이름의 영광을 위해 자랑, 칭찬, 물질의 보상을 포기한 사람은 상급을 받습니다.

더 나아가 복음을 위해서 ‘종처럼 섬긴다’고 말씀합니다. 본문 19절에 “내가 모든 사람에게서 자유로우나 스스로 모든 사람에게 종이 된 것은 더 많은 사람을 얻고자 함이라.”고 했습니다. 복음을 전하는 일을 위해서라면 종이라도 되겠다는 것입니다. 고린도전서9:22~23절입니다. “22약한 사람들에게 내가 약한 사람과 같이 된 것은 약한 사람들을 얻고자 함이요, 내가 여러 사람에게 여러 모습이 된 것은 아무쪼록 몇 사람이라도 구원하고자 함이니 23내가 복음을 위하여 모든 것을 행함은 복음에 참여하고자 함이라.” 사명자의 간절한 마음을 보십시오. 전도는 복음으로 행하고 복음에 참여하는 일입니다. 그래야 사람들이 복음을 알고 복음에 참여하게 되어 있습니다. 복음을 알아야 사람들이 교회에 오는 것입니다. 우리교회 공동체가 나가서 전도하는 것은 이제 복음을 위해 기꺼이 손해를 감수하겠다는 각오를 다지는 것입니다.

이것이 복음의 계산법입니다. 세상 계산법은 조금도 손해 보지 않는 것이고, 복음 계산법은 복음을 위해 손해 보는 것입니다. 마가복음10:45절에 “인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라.”고 했습니다. 이것이 복음의 방정식이며, 예수님의 삶의 방정식이며, 전도의 방정식입니다(전도=사명자+간절함+자기희생-자기유익). 이 방정식은 간절함으로 희생하는 것입니다. 이 사명자의 간절함이 사람의 마음에 전달되어서 변화가 일어나는 것입니다. 사람을 전도한다는 것은 희생을 통한 간절한 마음이 전달될 때 가능한 것입니다. 이 예수님처럼 사도 바울은 복음을 위해 손해 보겠다고 말합니다. 본문 15절과 절입니다. “그러나 내가 이것을 하나도 쓰지 아니하였고 또 이 말을 쓰는 것은 내게 이같이 하여 달라는 것이 아니라 내가 차라리 죽을지언정 누구든지 내 자랑하는 것을 헛된 데로 돌리지 못하게 하리라.” “그런즉 내 상이 무엇이냐 내가 복음을 전할 때에 값없이 전하고 복음으로 말미암아 내게 있는 권리를 다 쓰지 아니하는 이것이로다.”

사람적인 계산이 빠른 사람은 절대 손해 보는 일은 안합니다. 그러나 복음을 위해 사는 사람은 자기의 유익을 먼저 구하지 않습니다. 복음을 위해 손해 보는 것, 권리를 주장하지 않는 것, 남을 높이는 것이 복음을 위해 사는 사람입니다. 하나님의 상급은 자기 자랑이 아니라 하나님만 자랑하고, 대가를 요구하는 것이 아니라 값없이 복음을 전하하고, 권리를 주장할 수 있음에도 권리를 다 쓰지 않는 사람에게 주어집니다. 이 복음의 계산법만이 사람을 바꿀 수 있는 유일한 대안입니다. 이 복음만이 사람을 감동하게 만들고 변화를 주어 교회로 오게 만드는 것입니다. 하나님은 이 전도의 미련한 방법으로만 사람을 교회로 이끄시는 것입니다. 고린도전서1:21절에 “하나님의 지혜에 있어서는 이 세상이 자기 지혜로 하나님을 알지 못하므로 하나님께서 전도의 미련한 것으로 믿는 사람들을 구원하시기를 기뻐하셨도다.”라고 말씀합니다.

정말 좋은 교회는 무엇입니까? 이 땅의 보상과 상관없이 천국의 상급을 위해 기꺼이 희생할 것을 요구하는 교회입니다. 마지막 심판대 앞에서 ‘목사님, 왜 그 때 그 상급을 말해 주지 않았어요.’라고 말하면 얼마나 부끄럽겠습니까? 지금은 희생과 대가지불이라는 말을 듣기가 힘들어도 상급을 받는 날에 말씀에 순종하기를 잘했다는 것을 고백하게 될 것입니다. 우리는 마지막 날에 보상으로 끝나는 교회가 아니라 상급이 풍성한 교회를 세워야 합니다.

사도 바울은 이 상급의 의미를 알았고 그 일을 위해 자신을 희생할 뿐만 아니라 그를 따르는 사람들도 동일한 헌신으로 이끌었던 사람입니다. 이것이 진정한 리더입니다. 승리주의, 성공주의에 도취되지 않고 끊임없이 상급을 바라보는 교회가 좋은 교회입니다. 로마서16:3~4절입니다. “3너희는 그리스도 예수님 안에서 나의 동역자들인 브리스가와 아굴라에게 문안하라. 4그들은 내 목숨을 위하여 자기들의 목까지도 내놓았나니 나뿐 아니라 이방인의 모든 교회도 그들에게 감사하느니라.” 복음을 위하여 브리스가와 아굴라는 복음을 전하는 일을 위해 사도 바울을 목숨 걸고 지켜 주었습니다. 사도 바울이 복음을 전하다가 당하는 모든 어려움들을 함께 누었습니다. 그래서 사도 바울이 어느 나라를 가든지 따라 다니면서 복음에 협력하고 교회를 세우는데 최선을 다했습니다.

이처럼 복음으로 교회를 세우는 사명자는 사람의 판단과 한계를 뛰어넘는 일을 하는 것입니다. 사람을 보고 일하지 말고 하나님을 의식하고 일하시기를 기도합니다. 사람이 주는 칭찬이 아니라 하나님이 주시는 상급을 보고 일하시기를 기도합니다. 불타지 않는 공적으로 교회를 세우는 사명자들이 다 되시기를 기도합니다.

사명은 언제나 축복을 동반합니다. 복음으로 교회를 세우는 사명을 다하면 하나님이 축복해 주십니다. 복음을 위한 위대한 경주는 언제나 최후에 면류관을 수여 받는 축복이 따릅니다. 비록 지금 참아야 하는 인내를 요구해도 끝까지 감당하다가 영광의 주님이 직접 수여하시는 영광의 면류관을 받아 누리는 축복이 있으시기를 기도합니다.

사명을 품은 복음 전도자가 어떻게 믿음의 경주를 달려야 하는지를 살펴보겠습니다.

첫째, 복음 전도자는 상급을 바라봅니다.

둘째, 복음 전도자는 복음으로 삽니다.

셋째, 복음 전도자는 교회세움(church planting)으로 상급을 받습니다.

교회를 위한 기도

두배 부흥 전도 축제를 위해 많은 교회 공동체들이 전도의 사명자로 부름 받게 하소서.

전도사명으로 믿음의 경주를 하여 하나님이 주시는 상급을 받게 하소서.

이 땅의 보상에 연연하지 않으며 천국 상급의 가치를 높이는 성숙한 교회 공동체가 되게 하소서.

세상의 가치관, 시대정신에 순응하지 않고 예수님을 바라보고 말씀을 따라 의로운 길을 가게 하소서.
