60) April 12-13 Holy Land Journey: Burgos - One of Spain's Three Great Cathedrals and the Hometown of El Cid  


We left Logroño at 3:03 PM and headed along the highway toward Burgos. The vineyards continued on.
We arrived in Burgos at 5:03 PM.
In the 11th century, Burgos was the capital of the Kingdom of Castile and Leon. After the fall of Granada, the last Islamic stronghold, in 1492, the capital was moved to Valladolid, but it continued to prosper as a transit point on the pilgrimage route to Santiago.

60) 4월 12일 13일 성지 여정: Burgos-스페인 3대 성당 그리고 엘시드의 고향


오후 15:03분 로그로뇨를 떠나 고속도로를 따라 Burgos로 향하였다. 포도밭이 계속 이어진다.
오후 17에 Burgos에 도착하였다.
11세기에는 카스티야 레온왕국의 수도였던 부르고스,1492년 마지막 이슬람의 최후의 보루 그라나다을 함락한 후 수도는 바야돌리드(Valladolid)로 천도되었지만 산티아고로 향하는 순례길 도중에 있어 중개지로 번영을 누려 왔다.

                             
  After arriving here and unpacking at the Ojeda Hotel, we headed to one of Spain's three major cathedrals.              
                 이곳에 도착한 후Ojeda호텔에 여장을 풀고 난후 스페인 3대 성당을 향하여 가고 있다

One of Spain's three major cathedrals, this masterpiece of Gothic architecture stands alongside the cathedrals of Seville and Toledo. This cathedral is one of Spain's three major cathedrals.
스페인 3대 카테드랄 중 하나로 고딕양식의 대 걸작품으로 세비야와 톨레도 성당과 이 곳
성당이 스페인 3대 성당이다.

                                                  This is the cathedral with the most beautiful stained glass.
                스테인 글라스가 제일 아름다운 성당이다.

       
      There is the tomb of El Cid, the hero of the Reconquista (Christian restoration movement), and his wife, Ximena.    
 리콩키스타(기독교 회복 운동)의 영웅 엘시드와 그의 부인히메나의 묘가 있다.

                                          There is an equestrian statue of El Cid. His hometown is near Burgos        
                    엘 시드 기마상이 있다. 부르고스 근교가 그의 고향이다.

                                         
         Ojeda Restaurant. The hotel recommended it, so I went in.

There's a bar and a restaurant. We sat at the bar, sipping on world-famous Rioja red wine and a few other dishes. A cute young Spanish woman envied our journey.
 Bar도 있고 Restaurant도 있다. 우리는 Bar에 앉아서 세계적으로 유명한 리오하의 Red Wine과 겻들이며
 이것 저것 먹었다. 귀여운 스페인 젊은 여자가 우리의 여정을 부러워하다.

                 
     The next morning we arrived at the monastery built in 1180 within the summer residence of Alphonse VIII.
                                  다음 날 아침 1180년 알폰스 8세의 여름 별장안에 지은 수도원으로 왔다.

The Romanesque-style cloister is elegant. This place is a 30-minute walk from the hotel. I made the effort to get there, but due to time constraints, I took a taxi.
 로마네스크 양식의 회랑이 우아하다.
이곳은 호텔에서 도보로 30분이나 걸린 곳이다. 부지런히 왔으나 갈때는 시간 관계상 택시를 탓다.

Miraflores, 4km from the city center, has a small but beautiful church. The manager of our hotel, the Ojeda Hotel, recommended this beautiful church to us. Main Entrance of the Cathedral
 시내에서 4Km떨어진 Miraflores는 조그마한 그러나 아름다운 교회가 있다.
숙소인 Ojeda Hotel의 Manager가  이곳을 아름다운 교회라고 우리에게 추천한 곳이다.

The tomb of Juan II and his wife, parents of Queen Isabella, who unified Spain, is decorated with ornate decorations.
    스페인을 통일한 이사벨 여왕의 부모인 후안2세와 그 왕비의 무덤, 화려한 장식으로 꾸몄다.

         
  On the wall above the tomb is a statue of Prince Alfonso, the older brother of Queen Isabella. He died young.
                   무덤 위 벽쪽에는 이사벨 여왕 오빠 알폰소 왕자의 조각상이 있다. 그는 젊은 나이로 죽었다.


We left here at 12:30 PM and headed to Santo Domingo de Silos, located in the mountains about 60 kilometers from Burgos (8,095 kilometers).
이곳을 12시 30분에떠나 부르고스에서 60여 km 떨어진  산 속에 있는 Santo Domingo De Silos로 떠났다(8,095Km)
이곳은 수도 신부들의 성가로 유명한 곳이다, 그리고 산속이라 조용한 곳이다.
