A new study indicates eating red meat, whether it's processed or not, can increase your risk of developing type-2 diabetes.
Scientists said Harvard found that eating processed meats, about 2 slices of bacon or one hot dog a day, could increase the risk by 51%, and eating a daily serving of unprocessed meat increase the chances of developing type-2 diabetes by almost 20%.
Researchers looked at unprocessed meat such as pork, lamb, steak, or hamburger in a portion size equivalent to a deck of cards.
The study looked at data from almost half a million people who were followed for at least 15 years.
The researchers aren't exactly sure why these meats put people at higher risk for the disease, but suspect that cells in the pancreas are getting damaged by substances in red meat.

deck of cards 는 트럼프 카드 를 말해요. 트럼프 카드는 놀음할때 사용하죠? 놀음은 위험한거죠? 그래서 누가 playing with deck of cards 하면 어떤 위험한 상태를 말해요. 그래서 고기를 너무 많이 먹으면 당뇨에 걸릴수 있는 위험에 처한다란 말이에요. 즉 마치 놀음하는것 같이 위험하다 란 말이에요.
