Meet Mr. James!

Originally from the United States, Mr. James brings 10 years of international experience to Raffles American School, where he teaches PE and serves as our Assistant Athletic Director.

After spending time living and working in Vietnam and Malaysia, he’s excited to be part of the Raffles community and has already been enjoying getting to know our students, especially through his time in boarding.

For Mr. James, it’s all about creating opportunities for students to get involved, challenge themselves, build friendships, and most importantly, have fun along the way. Having experienced boarding himself as a student growing up, he understands firsthand how meaningful that experience can be. The friendships and memories he made during his time in boarding have stayed with him throughout his life, and he hopes to help create those same lasting experiences for our students.

미국 출신인 제임스 씨는 10년간의 국제 경험을 바탕으로 래플스 아메리칸 스쿨에서 체육 교사로 일하며 부체육감 역할도 맡고 있습니다.

베트남과 말레이시아에서 생활하며 일한 경험을 바탕으로, 래플스 커뮤니티의 일원이 된 것을 기쁘게 생각하며 특히 기숙사 생활을 통해 학생들을 알아가는 시간을 즐기고 있습니다.

제임스 선생님에게 가장 중요한 것은 학생들이 참여하고, 스스로 도전하며, 우정을 쌓고, 무엇보다도 그 과정에서 즐거움을 느낄 수 있는 기회를 만드는 것입니다. 어릴 적 학생으로서 기숙사 생활을 직접 경험해본 그는, 그 경험이 얼마나 의미 있는 일인지 몸소 잘 알고 있습니다. 기숙사 생활 동안 쌓은 우정과 추억은 평생 그와 함께하며, 그는 우리 학생들에게도 그런 소중한 경험을 만들어주길 바랍니다.
