  Part 22 : Yeongmyeong(榮命,영명)... Honoring and Glorifying the Command... Chapter 80.

榮命(영명)은 임금의 명령을 빛내는 것이다.

 "Yeongmyeong(榮命,영명)" means to bring glory to the monarch′s command.

손님을 맞음에 부드럽게 하고 국경밖에 나아가서는 힘써서 지켜 일편단심을 태양처럼 밝히고

움직임을 눈과 서리처럼 엄숙히 하여 임금의 명령이 드넓은 천지에 가득 차 진양될 수 있도록 하여야 한다.

 One must be gentle and welcoming when receiving guests,

 and when going beyond the borders, one must strive to defend firmly.

 One must shine their undivided loyalty(single-hearted devotion) like the sun

 and make their movements as solemn and strict as snow and frost,

 so that the monarch′s command may fill and be exalted throughout the vast heaven and earth.

榮命者는 榮君命也라 (영명자는 영군명야라)
 "Those who practice Yeongmyeong are bringing glory to the monarch′s command."

 
迎賓懷柔하고 出境辨捍하여 (영빈회유하고 출경변한하여)
 " Welcoming guests with a gentle embrace,

   and going beyond the borders to manage and defend firmly,"

丹心炳日하고 氣如霜雪하여 (단심병일하고 기여상설하여)
 "Making one′s loyal heart shine like the sun,

   and keeping one′s spirit as sharp and solemn as frost and snow,"

 
使君命으로 晉陽於瀛漠이니라. (사군명으로 진양어영막이니라.)

 "Thereby causing the monarch′s command to the vast oceans and deserts(the entire world)."
