Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides.
You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors.

If you don’t know [what you’re doing], pray to the Father.
He loves to help.
You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to /when you ask for it.
Ask boldly, believingly, without a second thought.

And when the arrogant rich are brought down to size, cheer!
Prosperity is as short-lived as a wildflower, so don’t ever count on it.
You know that as soon as the sun rises, pouring down its scorching heat, the flower withers.

For such persons /loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life.

Don’t let [anyone under pressure to give in to evil] [say], “God is trying to trip me up.”
God is impervious to evil, and puts evil /in no one’s way.
The temptation to give in to evil comes from us and only us.

Sin grows up to adulthood, and becomes a real killer.

Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven.
The gifts are rivers of light /cascading down from the Father of Light.
There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle.
He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures.

19-21
Post this /at all the intersections, dear friends:
Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear.
God’s righteousness doesn’t grow /from human anger.
So throw all spoiled virtue and cancerous evil /in the garbage.
In simple humility,
let our gardener, God, landscape you with the Word, making a salvation-garden of your life.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener
/when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other.
Act on what you hear!
[Those //who hear and don’t act] are like those //who glance in the mirror, walk away,
and two minutes later have no idea //who they are, what they look like.

But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life!—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it,
is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action.
That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.

This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air.
Real religion, the kind //that passes muster before God the Father, is this:
Reach out /to the homeless and loveless in their plight,
and guard against corruption from the godless world.

시든 백합 꽃송이들과 싱싱하나 며칠 내 시들 상층 백합 (전부 8송이였었음)
날 좀 우러러봐라 낡은 꽃들아, 나 멋있지? 날 좀 봐라 젊은 꽃아, 우린 추하지? 수일 내로 너도 나처럼 될 거야!

부한 자는 자기의 낮아짐을 자랑할지니 이는 그가 풀의 꽃과 같이 지나감이라
해가 돋고 뜨거운 바람이 불어 풀을 말리면 꽃이 떨어져 그 모양의 아름다움이 없어지나니
부한 자도 그 행하는 일에 이와 같이 쇠잔하리라
물질 축복만 떠벌리는 뻥쟁이 말꾼들, 이처럼 시든, 시들어 가는, 시들 꽃을 보시고 야고보처럼 참 말하면 그게 참 복
시들기 전의 백합은 다들 싱싱-백합이라 우열을 가를 수 없고 단지 위-아래/상류-하류만 구별된다
한 줄기 상부에 무더기로 8개가 달린 건 우리 꽃밭의 백합 생애 6년 만에 처음임
다른 해는 꽃들이 서로 거리를 두고 위아래로 나왔었음

마지막 잎새
Gone with the wind
여왕 백합이 가고 없으니 섭섭하시다면 아래는 공주 백합
공주 백합이라 함은 여왕처럼 장대하지 않고 자그마한 키에 홍조 띤 모습 때문임
공주 백합 발치에 놓인 하얀 꽃잎은 여왕 백합의 떨어져 시든 꽃잎
