The economical independent of young students
There have been numerousarguments about university or young students having part-time jobs. Some may stronglydisagree with this idea, because it distracts students' study.
First of all, young students, particularly teenager's part-time jobprevents them to concentrate on their study. Of course we understand that gettinga part-time job is not only reason to disturb study but, it is one of obstaclesfor study without doubt. To illustrate my point of view, when I was in highschool, I had some friends who had a part-time job after school. They almostworked 4~5 hours a day and easily got exhausted. As a result, they didn't get enoughtime to study or to do homework and even they had to choose sleep duringclass-time to supplement lack of sleep. As I mentioned above, teenage students'part-time job has negative effect on their academic achievement.
In addition, teenage students can easily be extorted by employers becausethey are too young to know a lot about the world yet. I am well aware thatthere are many kind and conscientious employers but still some adult let youngpeople overwork. For example, popular places where teenage students get jobsare convenience stores or fast food restaurant like McDonald. They only provideminimum wage for students that sometimes even lower than regulation. Andinstead, they ask students work hard watching closely whether teens get lazy ornot. As long as students work, there are always vicious employers who sweatyoung workers.
Taking all those things into accounts, teenage students should not have apart-time job that hinder them to achieve academic goal and squeezed by bademployers. There is old saying in Korea, "The most beautiful person is whois engaged in what they should be." I do not have the slightest objectionto this word and it is about the time that students should realize what is reallyimportant in their school days.
