참부모경 - 222. '성화‘의 의미와 성화청년회

1954년 12월 31일 협회에 처음으로 성화기독학생회(成和基督學生會)가 출범하였다. ‘성화’라는 명칭은 참아버님께서 직접 명명해 주셨으며, 이후 여러 단체에 그 이름을 활용하였다. 말씀에 의하면 ‘성화’는 완성과 화동(和動), 즉 서로 화(和)해서 완성해 간다는 뜻이다. 성화기독학생회는 1955년 3월 27일 성화청년회로 이름을 바꿔 1960년까지 협회 활동의 중심이 되었다. 이날을 기해 기관지 성화(成和) 창간호가 발간되었다.

1 여러분은 성화청년회라는 이 글자의 뜻을 알아야 됩니다. 성화(成和)라는 말은 어떠한 자극에 의해 파동적인 입장에서 화(和)라는 것이 아닙니다. 능동적으로 화하라는 것입니다. 이러한 뜻을 중심삼고 출발한 여러분인데 아침에는 좋아하더니 저녁에는 울며 야단이고, 또 밤이 되면 자기 하고픈 대로 다 합니다. 그렇게 해서는 안 됩니다. 하나님의 뜻을 아는 사람들이라면 아침에는 울고 저녁이나 밤에는 기뻐해야 됩니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 여러분은 처음에는 좋아하다가 나중에 가서는 이러니저러니 하며 많은 조건을 내거는 것입니다. 그래서 성화학생 졸업생들을 고생시키는 것입니다. 여러분을 최고의 일선에 내보내서 쓰러지게 하여 죽음의 구덩이로 몰아넣어야 민족을 구할 수 있다면 그러한 일을 시켜야 합니다.

2 성화라는 말은 어떤 의미가 있느냐? 화학의 ‘화(化)’는 본질까지도 변하지만 성화의 ‘화(和)’는 다릅니다. 절대적인 상대성과 하나님의 본질로서의 성화입니다. 여러분은 바로 이 성화로서 뜻을 이루어 나가는 것입니다. 여러분은 자기를 중심삼은 세계관과 생활관, 자기를 중심삼은 천적인 심정을 공고화해야 됩니다. 그리하여 완전한 씨알로서 결실되어 껍질이 벗겨져야 됩니다. 그래야 알곡이 됩니다. 그런데 ‘선생님의 모습은 훌륭한데 제자들의 모습은 그러지가 못해,’라는 소리를 들으면 안 됩니다.

3 성화의 ‘화(和)’는 개성이 그냥 그대로 살아 있는 것입니다. 개성진리체란 말이 있습니다. 여기에 1천 명이 있다면 이 1천 명이 다 각각 다릅니다. 개성을 가지고 있습니다. 그 개성을 중심삼고 하나되는 것이 성화입니다. 화합(化合)은 개성이 변해서 하나되는 것이지만 성화는 개성을 지닌 채로 하나되는 것을 말합니다. 성화는 모든 개성들이 합해서 이루었다는 뜻입니다. 그렇게 이루는 것을 통일이라고 합니다. 각자의 개성이 연결되어 완성하면 완전히 하나를 이루게 된다는 것입니다. 통일이 이루어진다는 것입니다.

4 성화청년회의 성화라는 글자를 살펴보면 성(成)은 완성을 의미하고 화(和)는 화동을 의미합니다. 서로 화해서 완성해 간다는 뜻이 됩니다. 그러기 위해서는 첫째, 여러분은 말씀의 과정을 통과해야 됩니다. 둘째, 여러분은 인격적으로 하나님이 의논할 수 있는 존재가 되어야 합니다. 일일이 의논하지 않고도 심정적으로 통해야만 합니다. 그리고 무엇보다도 화동의 중심이 되어야 합니다. 전후․상하․좌우로 화할 수 있는 인격체가 되어야 합니다. 그리하여 축복의 실체가 되는 것이 표준입니다. 예수님도 청년시절에 뜻의 일선에서 일했습니다. 30세 전후의 청년시절은 인생에서 가장 중요한 시기에 해당합니다. 아버님의 젊음에 여러분의 젊은 열정을 플러스시켜서 일해야 됩니다. 재창조 위업에 가담해서 영광의 조건을 갖출 수 있는 것은 이 한때밖에 없습니다. 우리는 철두철미하게 세상 사람들을 대해 ‘나는 너희와 같지 않다.’는 심정을 갖춰야 합니다. ‘너희는 해내지 못하느냐? 나는 할 수 있다!’이런 정신을 항상 갖추고 있어야 합니다. 어떤 어려움 속에서도 ‘나는 너희와 같지 않다. 역사적으로도 시대적으로도 평면적으로도 어디를 보아서도 그렇다.’고 할 수 있어야 합니다. 모든 어려운 일에는 내가 움직이지 않으면 안 된다는 결심이 있어야 합니다.

5 여러분 가운데 생명이 약동하고 있는 청년 남녀가 있습니까? 그러한 사람이 있다면 교회의 목사 장로 앞에 천륜을 입증하여 그들의 인격을 비판하고, 천적인 가치 앞에 심판할 수 있는 자격을 갖춰야 합니다. 하나님의 심정에 어긋난 것은 천상의 어떠한 존재나 지상의 어떠한 존재든지 용납하지 않겠다는 각오를 가져야 됩니다. 여러분이 통일교회에 들어왔으면 기성종교 관념을 초월해야 됩니다. 회의적인 신앙 관념을 밟고 올라서야 됩니다. 지금까지 신앙 관념의 입장은 하나님이 임재할 수 있는 안식처가 될 수 없고 예수님의 실체를 모실 수 있는 안식처가 못 되니 그것을 무자비하게 밟고 넘어설 수 있는 용단성을 지녀야 되겠습니다.

6 젊은 사람들은 그 젊음의 때가 오래가지 않는다는 것을 알아야 합니다. 이앙에 뜻을 안 사람으로서 하늘 앞에 헌신하고자 나섰으니 귀한 청춘시대를 아무런 미련 없이 하늘 앞에 완전히 바치자는 것입니다. 그러면 그것이 얼마나 귀하겠는가를 생각해야 됩니다. 간혹 청춘시절을 뜻과 더불어 무의미하게 보냈다고 후회하는 사람들을 보게 됩니다. 그런 사람들은 뜻이 어떤 것이고 젊은 시대에 뜻과 더불어 지낸 것이 얼마나 가치 있는 일인지를 망각한 자리에서 불평하고 탄식하는 것입니다. 이 젊은 시대에는 반드시 고개가 있습니다. 각자에게는 반드시 최고의 절정기라고 할 수 있는 청춘시절이 있는데 그 한 때를 누구와 더불어 지내느냐 하는 것이 문제입니다. 자기 일신이나 일가의 행복을 위해서 지내는 것보다 나라와 세계를 위해서 역사와 더불어 영원히 남을 수 있는 문제를 중심삼고 사는 것이 귀하다는 것입니다.

真の父母経 - 222. 「成和」の意味と「成和青年会」

一九五四年十二月三十一日、協会に初めて「成和基督学生会」が出帆した。「成和」という名称は、真のお父様が直接、命名してくださったものであり、以後、多くの団体にその名称が活用された。み言によれば、「成和」は、完成と和動、すなわち互いに和して完成していくという意味である。「成和基督学生会」は、一九五五年三月二十七日、「成和青年会」に名を変え、一九六〇年まで協会活動の中心となった。この日、機関誌「成和」創刊号が発刊された。
 
１ 皆さんは、「成和青年会」というこの字の意味を知らなければなりません。「成和」という言葉は、何かの刺激によって受動的な立場で和合しなさいということではありません。能動的に和合しなさいということです。
 
このような意味を中心として出発した皆さんなのに、朝は喜んでいても、夕方には泣いて騒ぎ、また夜になれば自分のしたいようにすべてしています。それではいけません。神様のみ旨を知る人たちであれば、朝に泣き、夕方や夜には喜ばなければなりません。それにもかかわらず、皆さんは、初めは喜んでいても、あとになって「ああだこうだ」と言って多くの条件を付けるのです。
 
ですから、成和学生の卒業生たちに苦労をさせるのです。皆さんを最前線に送り出して、倒れさせ、死の淵に追い込んでこそ、民族を救えるとすれば、そのようなことをさせなければなりません。
 
２ 「成和（ソンファ）」という言葉は、どのような意味があるのでしょうか。化学の「化（ファ）」は本質まで変わりますが、成和の「和（ファ）」は違います。絶対的な相対性と神様の本質としての「成和」だというのです。皆さんは、正にこの「成和」としてみ旨を果たしていくのです。
 
皆さんは、自分を中心とした世界観と生活観、自分を中心とした天的な心情を強固にしなければなりません。そうして、完全な種として結実して、殻を脱がなければなりません。それでこそ、真の穀物になるのです。それなのに、「先生の姿は立派だが、弟子たちの姿はそうではない」と言われてはいけません。
 
３ 成和の「和」は、個性がそのまま生きているのです。「個性真理体」という言葉があります。ここに千人いれば、この千人はみなそれぞれ違います。個性をもっているのです。その個性を中心として一つになるのが「成和」です。「化合」は、個性が変わって一つになることですが、「成和」は、個性をもったまま一つになることを言います。
 
「成和」は、すべての個性が合わさって成し遂げたという意味なのです。そのように成し遂げることを「統一」と言います。各自の個性が連結されて完成すれば、完全に一つになるというのです。統一が成し遂げられるのです。
 
４ 「成和青年会」の「成和」という字を調べてみると、「成」は完成を意味し、「和」は和動を意味します。「互いに和して完成していく」という意味になるのです。そのためには、第一に、皆さんがみ言の過程を通過しなければなりません。第二に、皆さんは、神様が相談できるほどの人格をもつ存在にならなければなりません。一つ一つ相談しなくても、心情的に通じなければならないのです。そして、何よりも、和動の中心にならなければなりません。前後、上下、左右に和合できる人格体にならなければならないのです。そうして、祝福の実体になることが標準です。
 
イエス様も、青年時代にみ旨の一線で働きました。三十歳前後の青年時代は、人生で最も重要な時期に該当します。お父様の若さに皆さんの若い情熱をプラスして働かなければなりません。再創造の偉業に加担して、栄光の条件を備えることができるのは、この一時しかありません。
 
私たちは徹頭徹尾、世の中の人たちに対して、「私はあなたたちと同じではない」という心情を備えなければなりません。「あなたたちは成し遂げることができないのか。私はできる！」、このような精神を常にもっていなければなりません。いかなる困難の中でも、「私はあなたたちと同じではない。歴史的にも、時代的にも、平面的にも、どこを見てもそうだ」と言えなければなりません。あらゆる困難なことに対して、「私」が動かなければならないという決心がなければなりません。
 
５ 皆さんの中に、生命が躍動している青年男女はいるでしょうか。そのような人がいるとすれば、教会の牧師、長老の前に天倫を立証し、彼らの人格を批評して、天的な価値の前に審判できる資格を備えなければなりません。神様の心情に外れたことは、天上のいかなる存在も、地上のいかなる存在も受け入れないという覚悟をもたなければなりません。
 
皆さんは、統一教会に入ってきたのであれば、既成宗教の観念を超越しなければなりません。懐疑的な信仰観念を踏み越えて立たなければなりません。今までの信仰観念の立場は、神様が臨在できる安息所になることができず、イエス様の実体に侍ることができる安息所になれないので、それを情け容赦なく踏み越えることができる勇断さをもたなければなりません。
 
６ 若い人々は、その若い時期が長く続かないことを知らなければなりません。どのみちみ旨を知った人として、天のみ前に献身しようと進み出たのですから、貴い青春時代を何の未練もなく天のみ前に完全に捧げようというのです。そうすれば、それがどれほど貴いか、考えなければなりません。
 
時々、青春時代をみ旨と共に無意味に過ごしたと後悔する人々を目にします。そのような人々は、み旨がどのようなものであり、若い時代にみ旨と共に過ごしたことがどれほど価値のあることかを忘却した立場で不平を言い、嘆息するのです。
 
この若い時代には、必ず峠があります。各自には、必ず最高の絶頂期と言える青春時代があるのですが、その一時を誰と共に過ごすかが問題です。自分の一身や一家の幸福のために過ごすことより、国と世界のために、歴史とともに永遠に残り得る問題を中心として生きることが貴いというのです。

The Seonghwa Christian Students Association was launched on December 31, 1954, as the first affiliate of HSA-UWC. The name Seonghwa was bestowed personally by True Father, and since then many organizations have adopted that name. According to his words, "seonghwa" means completion and harmony, that is, to achieve completion by harmonizing with others. The Seonghwa Christian Students Association changed its name to Seonghwa Youth Association on March 27, 1955, on the day the first issue of the magazine Seonghwa was published. It remained at the center of the Holy Spirit Association activities until 1960.
 
1 You need to know the meaning of the title, "Seonghwa Youth Association." The word seonghwa does not mean to harmonize passively by receiving some stimulation. It means to actively harmonize. You who started based on the former meaning tend to like doing something in the morning, but cry and wail in the evening and then do whatever you feel like at night. You cannot be that way. 2 What kind of meaning does seonghwa have? The character hwa in the word "chemistry" means "to change the original character," but the hwa in "seonghwa" is different. Seonghwa means achieving harmony—through absolute objectivity—with the original character of God.

You are to accomplish the Will of God through this meaning of seonghwa. You yourself have to consolidate your worldview, your view of life, and your heavenly heart. You, as a ripened, perfect seed, need to shed your skin. That way you can become a clean grain. You must make sure you never hear from others, "Your Teacher is amazing, but his disciples are not that good." (025-108, 1969/09/30)
 
3 The word hwa in seonghwa means that one's individuality is what it is. There is a term we use for this, which is "individual embodiment of truth." If there are 1,000 people here, each one of you is different. Each of you has your own individual nature. Seonghwa means to become one centering on each individual's own nature. The term "chemical combination" means to combine elements into one compound, thereby changing the elements' differing characteristics, but seonghwa means uniting as one while keeping each individual's characteristics intact. Seonghwa means all individuals are united into one. The oneness thus achieved is called unity. When all individuals' characteristics have achieved completion and are connected, they unite completely as one. Thus, unity is achieved. 4 When you look at the word seonghwa in Seonghwa Youth Association, seong means completion and hwa means harmony. Together, seonghwa means to achieve completion by harmonizing with one another. To do so, you first have to pass through the stage of the Word. Second, you have to become a person who can respectfully communicate with God. You can communicate with God in heart without having to discuss every detail with Him. Most of all, you must become the central person of harmony. You need to become a person of character who can unite with people front and back, top and bottom, left and right. Thus the standard you can reach is to become the substance of God's blessings.

Jesus worked on the front line of the providence when he was a young man. The most important period in one's life is the youthful years around age 30. In your work during that period, you need to add the passion and fervor of your youthful course to Father's youthful course. That is the time of your life when you can be fully part of the great undertaking of re-creation and achieve glory. You have to have the heart that thoroughly says, "I am not the same as you" to the people of the world. You have to have the spirit to declare, "Even though you cannot do it, I can do it!" In any difficult circumstance you need to be able to say, "I am not the same as you are. Historically, temporally, horizontally, from any angle you look at it, I am different." In difficult situations you have to have the determination that "If I do not move, nothing is going to happen." (008-329, 1960/02/21)
 
5 Among you, is there any young man or woman who has life stirring within? If there is such a person, that person needs to prove the laws of heaven in the presence of the church pastors and elders and thus earn the qualification to criticize their character and judge them based on the values of heaven. Do not countenance any being in heaven or on earth who opposes the heart of God. When you join the Unification Church, you must transcend the concepts of established religions. Go beyond their unconvincing concepts of faith. The concepts of faith that have existed until now have failed to serve as the safe haven where God can dwell and we can attend the substance of Jesus. Therefore, have no mercy on yourself; decide courageously to step over those concepts and go beyond them. (003-274, 1958/01/12)
 
6 Young people, your youthful days do not last long. Since you have learned about the Will and stepped forward to devote yourself to God, you need to dedicate the precious days of your youth to heaven without any regrets. As you do so, think of how precious these days are. Sometimes you see people who regret that they spent their youth in a way that had no meaning in terms of the Will. Such people complain and groan because they forgot the Will of God and how worthy it is to work for the Will during ones youth. Everyone reaches their peak in their youth, which can be said to be the golden age of their life. The question is, for whom will you spend those days? The days you lived for the nation and the world will go down in history forevermore. This is more worthy than living these days for ones own sake, or for the happiness of one's family.
