참부모경 - 223. 청년에 대한 시대적 요구와 사명

협회 창립 이후 중심은 청년과 학생들이었다. 패기 충천한 청년학생들은 교회의 힘이요 꽃이었다. 그리고 초창기 식구들은 대부분 사회적으로 지위를 가진 인사들로서 그 면모가 출중했다. 그래서 ‘통일교회는 지성인들만 가는 교회다.’라는 소문도 들었다. 청년들은 초창기 교회의 기둥으로서 민족과 세계복귀의 첨병 역할을 하였고, 참아버님께서도 청년들을 야외로 데리고 나가 극기훈련을 시키거나 자연과 친화할 기회를 갖게 하는 등 그들을 지도자로 육성하기 위해 애를 쓰셨다.

7 일반 대학생들은 학교를 졸업하면 사회로 나갑니다. 그다음에는 가정을 꾸미게 됩니다. 그것은 여러분도 물론이고 아버님도 마찬가지입니다. 모양은 비슷비슷합니다. 학교를 졸업한 후 대한민국 국민의 일원으로서 나라에 공헌할 수 있는 길을 찾아서 가는 것입니다. 그래서 사회면 사회의 어떠한 도덕권 내에서 생활을 하게 됩니다. 남자는 남자로서, 여자는 여자로서 가정을 이루어 살게 될 것입니다. 이처럼 가는 방향은 다 같습니다. 그러나 사회로 나간 사람은 그 걸음이 사회에서 머무를 것이고, 가정으로 간 사람은 가정에서 머무를 것입니다. 그러니 그 가정과 사회를 넘어 국가와 세계로 갈 수 있는 자율적이고 자주적인 신념으로 하루하루 생을 개척해 나가지 못하고 그날들을 보람 있게 보낼 수 있는 능동적인 실체가 되지 못하면 언제나 비관과 낙망 가운데서 살아가게 될 것입니다. 지금 젊은이들 가운데에는 그런 사람도 많을 것입니다. 그러나 우리는 그들과는 가는 방향이 같지만 경우가 다릅니다. 가정이 이루어지면 우리는 그 가정의 가장이 되지만 한 가정의 가장으로만 끝나는 것이 아니라, 자기를 중심삼은 개인적인 가정의 환경을 타파해서 종족에 연결될 수 있는 가정의 길을 만들어야 합니다. 그래서 민족을 통합할 수 있는 핵심적인 가정의 형태를 갖춰서 세계의 가정으로 가야 합니다. 이렇게 우리는 일반 청년들과 입장이나 생각하는 범위가 다릅니다. 우리는 이러한 사명을 해야 될 개체들이기 때문에 이러한 면에서 영향력을 발휘할 수 있는 주체적인 개체로서 능동적으로 실천하기 위해서는 외적으로 실력을 갖춰야 됩니다. 그래서 힘의 모체가 되어야 합니다. 힘이 없으면 이 모든 것을 달성할 수 없습니다.

8 청소년이 지녀야 할 긍지는 무엇이어야 하며, 하나님이 찾아올 수 있는 청소년은 어떠한 사람이냐? 이것이 문제입니다. 그것은 불신의 조상인 아담 해와가 더럽힌 노정을 따라가는 청소년이 아닙니다. 의심하고 가는 청소년이 아닙니다. 의심하고 불평불만하는 젊은이들이 아닙니다. ‘절대희생․절대신앙․절대복종․절대순응만이 일방통행이다.’라고 할 수 있는 순수한 청소년이 아니고는 안 됩니다. 복귀시대의 한계점이 다가오는 이때에 태어난 성화 중고등학생, 통일교회 청소년 여러분이 서 있는 자리는 흘러간 역사시대와는 다릅니다. 여러분은 영계와 육계의 통일적인 기반을 갖추고 육적인 아벨 기반을 갖추어서 새로운 세계에 등장하여야 됩니다. 통일사상을 지니고 이 경계선을 넘어 새로운 기수로서 이 경계선을 넘어 새로운 기수로서 깃발을 들고 나서야 할 무리는 나이 많은 장년이나 노인이 아니라 피끓는 젊은이들입니다. 그런 빛나는 청소년의 무리를 이 지구상 어느 한 곳에서라도 발견할 수 있는 그날이 와야만 하나님이 6천년 한이 풀릴 수 있고, 아담의 원한의 터전이 되고 있는 죄악의 뿌리를 뽑아 뒤집을 수 있습니다. 이것을 발견하지 못하고 이것과 상봉하지 못하게 될 때에는 천주는 암흑 그대로 연장되는 것입니다. 그러므로 하나님이 부르고 있는 세대는 청소년 세대라는 것입니다.

9 여러분은 선조들이 걸어간 노정을 거쳐야 됩니다. 우리는 지금 광야에 나왔던 이스라엘 민족과 마찬가지입니다. 모세와 이스라엘 민족이 광야에서 몰리고 고난당했고, 예수님이 민족과 교회로부터 배척당하고 가정으로부터 불신당하였는데, 여러분도 이런 슬프고 억울한 자리를 거쳐야 합니다. 그렇다고 낙심하지 마십시오. 여러분이 이런 억울한 자리에서 해야 될 일이 있다면 그것은 역사적으로 고난당하신 아버지의 심정을 체휼하고, 선조들의 고통이 내 고통이라고 생각하고 천년만년 그 뜻을 위해 변치 않고 단결하여 사탄에 대한 적개심을 품고 나아가야 된다는 것입니다. 그럴 수 있는 청년 남녀를 하늘은 요구하고 있습니다. 이렇게 천적인 뜻에 사무친 진실한 청년들을 하늘은 찾아 나오셨습니다. 민족을 대신하여 우리에게 이런 사명을 맡겼다면 우리는 아버지의 원한의 심정을 느끼고 아버지의 슬픔을 내 몸에 품고 원수를 향해 진격할 수 있는 정병들이 되어야 합니다. 그러기 위해서 여러분은 여러분의 생활과 이념을 통일시켜야 되겠습니다. 하늘의 서러움과 예수님의 서러움과 선조들의 서러움과 후손들의 서러움을 해원하기 위해 나아가야겠습니다.

10 여러분 청년 남녀들은 자기 자신을 단장하기 전에 이 삼천만 민족을 단장하려는 마음, 자기 자신을 생각하기 전에 이 땅 위의 만민을 생각하는 마음이 우러나와야 합니다. 더 나아가서는 풀 한 포기까지도 붙들고 울어 줄 수 있는 마음이 자기도 모르는 사이에 심중에서 폭발할 수 있어야 합니다. 이러한 심정을 갖지 못하고서는 완전한 하나님의 아들딸이 못 됩니다. 그러한 인간은 하나님의 눈물의 열매요, 하나님의 고통의 열매요, 또한 하나님의 피의 제단 위에 오르는 제물입니다. 그러면 이 민족의 갈 길을 개척할 사람은 누구인가? 진정 이 민족을 위하여 땅을 치고 가슴을 치며 통곡하는 사람이 나와야 됩니다. 이 세계를 구원할 사람은 청년 남녀들이라는 것입니다.

11 반만년의 역사를 거쳐 오면서 우리 민족은 갖은 고생의 길을 걸어왔습니다. 슬픔이 있어도 어디 가서 호소할 줄 모르고, 분함과 억울함이 있어도 호소할 줄 모르는 가운데 이 민족은 걸어 나왔습니다. 그러면 여러분은 민족을 붙들고 어떻게 해야 될 것인가? 고아와 같은 이 민족이지만 우리끼리 손을 붙들고 통곡할 수 있어야 합니다. 그래야 이 민족이 살 수 있다는 것입니다. 형제의 잘못이야 있든 없든 하늘이 허락한 같은 피와 뼈살을 가지고 태어난 형제이니, 자기 개인의 사정을 넘어서서 부모의 역사적인 혈통과 심정에 결합하기 위해 울 줄 아는 아량 있는 사람들이 나와야 합니다. 그런 청년들이 요구되고 있습니다. 그러한 청년들의 피끊는 정열이 일신의 출세와 욕망을 위한 것이라면 그것은 일개인의 한계권 내에서 종결될 것입니다.

12 인간의 본래 이념은 무한대의 선을 넘고 넘어서 하나님을 붙들고 기뻐하기를 바라는 것입니다. 따라서 인간 본래의 이념을 위하여 정열을 쏟아야 합니다. 이 민족이 거쳐 온 역사노정에 하나님의 섭리가 있었다면 그 섭리의 종국에 하나님은 어떠한 무리를 요구하실 것인가? 그것은 하나님의 뜻을 이루기 위해 울 줄 아는 무리일 것입니다. 하나의 뜻에 엉키어 울고, 하나의 심정에 엉키어 울고, 하나의 행동에 엉키어 울면서 먼저 제물이 되겠다는 무리입니다. 하나님은 그런 무리를 찾으실 것입니다.

13 우리가 양심적인 기준을 찾아 나가는 데에는 악이 대립하고 있고 사탄이 반박할 수 있는 여지가 있습니다. 그러기에 우리는 우리 마음과 하늘의 마음이 일체 되는 그 기점 위에 인정(人情)과 천정(天情)이 일체 되고, 우리 이념과 천적인 이념이 일체 되는 그 기점 위에 우리 생명과 하늘의 생명이 하나되고, 우리 사랑과 천적인 사랑이 하나로 엉키는 그 기점 위에서 하늘과 인연을 맺어야 합니다. 하늘과 우리 마음이 하나되고, 생명이 하나되고, 이념이 하나되고, 사랑이 하나된 인연을 무엇으로 끊을 수 있겠습니까? 타락한 인간 끼리끼리 맺은 정의 인연도 끊지 못하여 울고불고 야단인데 천정에 엉키어 하나된 그 인연을 누가 끊을 수 있겠습니까? 아무리 죄악의 힘이 강하고 땅의 권세가 강하다 할지라도 이 마음 근본에서 맺어진 정적인 흐름의 한 기준을 꺾을 수 있는 것은 아무것도 없다는 것입니다. 그러한 기준을 찾을 때까지 역사는 허덕일 것이며 인류는 도탄 중에서 신음할 것인데, 이것을 방지할 용자는 땅 위에 없을 것인가? 이러한 책임을 짊어지고 이러한 사명의 노정을 개척하기 위하여 자신의 몸을 하나의 폭탄으로, 하나의 원자탄으로 삼고 사탄 도성을 터뜨려 버리겠다는 불붙은 폭발의 심정을 가진 용자가 있기를 나는 고대합니다. 이러한 용맹성을 갖춘 하늘의 정병들이 많이 나타나기를 하늘은 바라고 있습니다.

14 최후에 남아지는 이념의 한 곳을 향하여 움직여 나가게 하는 것은 심정입니다. 심정이 최후의 내 전체를 결정지어 준다는 것입니다. 이 심정 하나만을 붙들고 조심성 있게 찾는 사람이 들려주는 말씀을 들을 수 있고, 보여 주는 환상을 볼 수 있으며, 생활에서의 모든 실정을 분석할 수 있습니다. 자기에게 주어진 책임을 느끼며 초조한 심정과 불안한 마음을 억제하면서 새로운 이념을 찾고 움직이는 청년 남녀들이 있고, 그들의 울부짖는 음성이 들리는 그런 심정의 움직임이 있다면 여러분은 그들의 심정을 통하여 역사적인 모든 것과 오랫동안 느껴 오던 모든 것을 한꺼번에 느낄 수 있을 것입니다. 그 심정을 느끼고 자기를 각성하여 ‘하늘이 찾던 이념의 주체가 이것이었구나! 세계가 찾던 참된 모습과 하늘 땅 앞에 세워서 자랑할 수 있는 모습이 이것이었구나!’라고 자기도 모르게 부르짖는 순간을 갖는 사람만이 역사의 주인이요 섭리의 주인이요 천륜의 주인이라는 것입니다. 오늘날 여러분은 관계와 인연의 세계에서 책임을 다하고 실적을 남겨야 할 인생행로를 가고 있습니다. 그렇게 될 경우 자기를 자랑할 수 있고 ‘본연의 인간을 대신한 승자의 모습이 나였구나!’라는 각성이 생길 것입니다. 그런 순간에 이 세계와 우주는 여러분의 것이 될 것이며 하나님도 여러분의 하나님이 될 것입니다.

15 우리로 말미암아 하늘과 땅과 인류의 행복의 기점이 이 땅 위에 나타나지 않으면 안 됩니다. 이 일은 누군가가 책임을 져야 합니다. 눈물이 앞을 가리어 걸음을 걷지 못하고 뒤넘기치면서 이것을 책임지겠다고 엎드려 호소하는 사람이 있거든 그의 무릎 앞에 머리를 묻고 통회해야 됩니다. 처참하고 절망스러운 처지에 있으면서도 자기 한 몸을 생각하지 아니하고 그 자리에서 감사한 마음을 가지고 하늘을 위하여, 뜻을 위하여 피땀을 흘리며 나아가는 무리가 있거든 결사적으로 그들을 따라갈 줄 알아야 합니다. 이러한 신자, 이러한 양심적인 인사가 이 민족 가운데서, 특히 이 민족의 청년 남녀들 가운데서 나타나지 않으면 이 민족은 망합니다. ‘제가 하나님의 영원불변의 이념적인 발판입니다. 이 모습이 비록 헐벗고 굶주리고 갖춘 것이 없다 할지라도 심정에 있어서는 제가 아니면 당신의 손을 붙잡아 줄 사람이 없고, 제가 아니면 당신의 옷을 매만져 줄 사람이 없고, 제가 아니면 당신의 신발을 고쳐 줄 사람이 없습니다. 당신의 어느 한 부분도 제가 아니면 안 됩니다.’라고 할 수 있는 무리가 모이는 날에는 싸움을 하지 않고도 이 사탄 천하를 정복할 수 있는 것입니다. 중요한 것은 우리 자신입니다.

真の父母経 - 223. 青年に対する時代的要求と使命

協会創立以降、中心となったのは青年と学生であった。意気衝天の勢いをもつ青年と学生は、教会の力であり、花だった。そして、草創期の食口たちは、大部分が社会的に地位のある人々であり、錚々（そうそう）たる顔ぶれだった。そのため、「統一教会は知識人だけが行く教会だ」といううわさも広まった。青年たちは、草創期の教会の柱として、民族と世界を復帰する先兵の役割を果たし、真のお父様も青年たちを野外に連れ出しては、克己訓練をさせ、自然と親しむ機会をもたせるなど、彼らを指導者として育成するために尽力された。

７ 一般の大学生たちは、学校を卒業すれば社会に出ます。それから、家庭を築くようになります。それは、皆さんももちろんであり、お父様も同じです。形は似ています。学校を卒業したあと、大韓民国の国民の一員として国に貢献できる道を探し求めていくのです。
 
ですから、社会なら社会のある道徳圏内で生活をするようになります。男性は男性として、女性は女性として、家庭を築いて暮らすようになるでしょう。このように、向かっていく方向はみな同じです。しかし、社会に出た人は、その歩みが社会でとどまり、家庭に入った人は家庭でとどまるでしょう。その家庭と社会を越えて、国家と世界に向かゐる、自律的で自主的な信念で一日一日の生活を開拓していくことができず、その日その日を、生き甲斐をもって送り得る能動的な実体になれなければ、いつも悲観と失望の中で生きていくようになるのです。今、若者たちの中には、そのような人も多いでしょう。
 
しかし、私たちは、彼らとは行く方向は同じですが、立場が違います。家庭ができれば、私たちはその家庭の家長になりますが、一つの家庭の家長だけで終わるのではなく、自分を中心とした個人的な家庭の環境を打破し、氏族に連結され得る家庭の道をつくらなければなりません。そうして、民族を統合できる核心的な家庭の形態を備え、世界の家庭へと向かっていかなければなりません。このように、私たちは一般の青年たちと立場や考える範囲が違います。
 
私たちは、このような使命を果たすべき個体なので、このような面で影響力を発揮できる主体的な個体として能動的に実践するためには、外的に実力を備えなければなりません。そうして、力の母体にならなければならないのです。力がなければ、このすべてのことを達成し得ません。
 
８ 青少年がもつべき誇りとは、どのようなものでなければならず、神様が訪ねてこられる青少年とはどのような人でしょうか。これが問題です。
 
それは、不信の先祖であるアダムとエバが汚した路程に従っていく青少年ではありません。疑ったり、不平不満を言ったりする若者たちではありません。「絶対犠牲、絶対信仰、絶対服従、絶対順応するのみである」と言える純粋な青少年でなければいけません。復帰時代の限界点が近づくこの時に生まれた成和の中高生、統一教会の青少年の皆さんが立っている立場は、流れていった歴史時代とは違います。皆さんは、霊界と肉界の統一的な基盤を備え、肉的（実体的）なアベルの基盤を備えて、新しい世界に登場しなければなりません。
 
「統一思想」を携え、この境界線を越えて、新しい旗手として旗を持って進み出るべき群れは、年を取った壮年や老人ではなく、血潮がたぎる若者たちです。そのような輝かしい青少年の群れを、この地球上のどこか一カ所からでも発見できるその日が来てこそ、神拝の六千年の恨が解けるのであり、アダムの怨恨の基盤になっている罪悪の根を抜いて覆すことができるのです。これを発見できず、これと出会えなくなる時は、天宙が暗黒のまま延長されます。ですから、神様が呼び求めている世代は、青少年世代なのです。
 
９ 皆さんは、先祖たちの歩んでいった路程を経なければなりません。私たちは今、荒野に出たイスラエル民族と同様です。モーセとイスラエル民族は、荒野で追われて苦難に遭い、イエス様は民族とユダヤ教から排斥され、家庭から不信されましたが、皆さんも、そのような悲しく悔しい立場を経なければなりません。だからといって、落胆しないでください。
 
皆さんがこのような悔しい立場で果たすべきことがあるとすれば、それは歴史的に苦難を受けられた父の心情を体恤し、先祖たちの苦痛は自分の苦痛だと思って、千年、万年、そのみ旨のために変わらずに団結し、サタンに対する敵愾心を抱いていかなければならないということです。そのようにできる青年男女を、天は求めているのです。このように、天的なみ旨に徹する本物の青年たちを、天は探し求めてこられました。
 
民族に代わって私たちにこのような使命を任せたとすれば、私たちは父の怨恨の心情を感じ、父の悲しみを自分の身に抱いて、怨讐に向かって進撃できる精兵にならなければなりません。そのために皆さんは、皆さんの生活と理念を統一させなければなりません。天の悲しみと、イエス様の悲しみと、先祖たちの悲しみと、子孫たちの悲しみを解怨するために、進まなければならないのです。


 10 青年男女の皆さんは、自分自身が着飾る前に、この三千万の民族が着飾るようにしようという心、自分自身を考える前に、この地上の万民を考える心が湧き出なければなりません。さらには、一株の草までもつかんで泣いてあげられる心が、自分も知らぬ間に心中で爆発しなければなりません。このような心情をもつことができなければ、完全な神様の息子、娘になれないのです。そのような人間は、神様の涙の実であり、神様の苦痛の実であり、また神様の血の祭壇の上に上がる供え物なのです。
 
 それでは、この民族の行く道を開拓する人は誰でしょうか。本当にこの民族のために地をたたき、胸を打ちながら痛哭する人が現れなければなりません。この世界を救う人は、青年男女たちなのです。
 
 11 五千年の歴史を経てきながら、私たちの民族は様々な苦労の道を歩んできました。悲しみがあっても、どこかに行って訴えることができず、憤りや悔しさがあっても訴えることができない中で、この民族は歩んできました。
 
それでは、民族をつかんで、皆さんはどのようにすべきでしょうか。孤児のようなこの民族ですが、私たち同士で手を握って痛哭することができなければなりません。そうしてこそ、この民族が生きることができるというのです。兄弟に過ちがあろうとなかろうと、天が許した同じ血と骨肉をもって生まれた兄弟なので、自分個人の事情を越え、父母の歴史的な血統と心情に結合するために泣くことができる、雅量のある人たちが現れなければなりません。そのような青年たちが求められているのです。
 
そのような青年たちの血潮がたぎる情熱が、一身の出世と欲望のためのものであれば、それは一個人の限界圏内で終結するでしょう。
 
 12 人間の本来の理念は、無限大の（限界）線を何度も越えて神様をつかみ、喜ぶことを願うのです。したがって、人間本来の理念のために、情熱を注がなければなりません。
 
この民族が経てきた歴史路程に神様の摂理があったとすれば、その摂理の終局に、神様はどのような群れを求められるでしょうか。それは、神様のみ旨を成し遂げるために泣くことができる群れでしょう。一つのみ旨に思い悩んで泣き、一つの心情に思い悩んで泣き、一つの行動に思い悩んで泣きながら、先に供え物になろうという群れです。神様は、そのような群れを求められるのです。
 
 13 私たちが良心的な基準を探し求めていくところには、悪が対立していて、サタンが反駁できる余地があります。ですから、私たちは、私たちの心と天の心が一体となるその基点の上で人情と天情が一体になり、私たちの理念と天的な理念が一体となるその基点の上で私たちの生命と天の生命が一つになり、私たちの愛と天的な愛が一つに絡み合うその基点の上で、天と絆を結ばなければなりません。
 
天と私たちの心が一つになり、生命が一つになり、理念が一つになり、愛が一つになった絆を、何によって断つことができるでしょうか。堕落した人間同士が結んだ情の絆も切ることができず、泣き叫んで大騒ぎするのに、天情に絡めて一つになったその絆を誰が断ち得るでしょうか。いくら罪悪の力が強く、地の権勢が強いとしても、この心の根本で結ばれた情的な流れの一つの基準を曲げることができるものは、何もないというのです。
 
そのような基準を見つけ出す時まで、歴史は苦しみ、人類は塗炭の苦しみの中でうめくのですが、これを防ぐ勇者は地上にいないのでしょうか。このような責任を担い、このような使命の路程を開拓するために、自分の体を一つの爆弾として、一つの原子爆弾として、サタンの都城を崩してしまおうという、火のついた爆発的な心情をもった勇者がいることを、私は期待します。このような勇猛さを備えた天の精兵たちが、大勢現れることを天は願っています。
 
 14 最後に残る一つの理念の場に向かって動いていくようにするのは心情です。心情が最終的に「私」のすべてを決定してくれるのです。この心情一つだけをつかみ、注意深く探し求める人が、聞かせてくださるみ言を聞くことができ、見せてくださる幻想を見ることができ、生活におけるあらゆる実情を分析することができます。
 
自分に与えられた責任を感じつつ、気をもむ心情と不安な心を抑えながら、新しい理念を探し求めて動く青年男女たちがいて、彼らの泣き叫ぶ声が聞こえる、そのような心情の動きがあるなら、皆さんは、彼らの心情を通して、歴史的なすべてのことと、長い間感じてきたすべてのことを一度に感じられるでしょう。その心情を感じ、自己を覚醒して、「天が求めていた理念の主体がこれだったのか。世界が求めていた真の姿と、天地の前に立てて誇り得る姿がこれだったのか」と、我知らず叫ぶ瞬間をもつ人だけが、歴史の主人であり、摂理の主人であり、天倫の主人なのです。
 
今日、皆さんは、関係と絆の世界において責任を果たし、実績を残さなければならない人生行路を歩んでいます。そのようになれば、自分を誇ることができ、「本然の人間に代わる勝者の姿が私だった」という覚醒が訪れるでしょう。そのような瞬間に、この世界と宇宙は皆さんのものになり、神様も皆さんの神様になるでしょう。
 
 15 私たちによって、天と地と人類の幸福の基点がこの地上に現れなければなりません。このことに誰かが責任をもたなければなりません。涙が前を遮って歩くことができず、身もだえしながらこれに責任をもとうと、ひれ伏して訴える人がいれば、その人の膝に頭を埋めて痛悔しなければなりません。凄惨で絶望的な境遇にありながらも、自分の一身を顧みず、その立場で感謝する心をもって、天のために、み旨のために血と汗を流しながら進んでいく群れがいるなら、決死的に彼らに従っていくことができなければなりません。このような信者、このような良心的な人士がこの民族の中から、特にこの民族の青年男女たちの中から現れなければ、この民族は滅びます。
 
「私が、神様の永遠不変の理念的な足場です。この姿は、たとえぼろを着て、おなかをすかせ、備えたものがないとしても、心情においては、私でなければあなたの手をつかんであげる人がなく、私でなければあなたの服をきれいに整えてあげる人がなく、私でなければあなたの履物を直してあげる人がいません。あなたのいかなる一部分も、私でなければなりません」と言える群れが集まれば、闘わなくても、このサタンの天下を征服できるのです。重要なのは、私たち自身です。

After the establishment of HSA-UWC, young people and students were at the center. Aspiring youths and students were the power and pride of the church. Most of the early members were outstanding individuals who hailed from society's upper class. A rumor even arose that "the Unification Church is frequented only by intellectuals." The young people were the pillars of the church. They played a frontline role to advance the work of restoring people and the world. True Father made strenuous efforts to raise them as leaders. He took them outdoors to train them in challenging their limitations and, at the same time, to give them the opportunity to be close to nature.
 
7 In general, when university students graduate, they find work. Next they start a family. It is the same for you and me as members of the Unification Church. The form is quite similar. After graduation from school, as citizens of Korea, you naturally find a way to contribute to the nation. You will live within the moral sphere of your society. Whether you are a man or a woman, you will form a family and carry on with life. The direction is the same. But the steps of those who go out to the worldly society stay within the society. Those who go out to the family stay within the family.

Given this reality, you will always live in pessimism and disappointment if you cannot go beyond the boundary of your family and the boundary of society and move forward to the nation and world with voluntary and independent conviction to pioneer and to make each day substantially active and fruitful. Many young people today feel this pessimism and disappointment.

Our direction is the same as theirs, but our circumstances are different. When we form a family, we become the head of our family, and it does not end there. We go beyond the environment of our family and connect the path of our family to the path of a tribe. From there, we make the form of a core family that can unite people, a family on the world level. As can be seen, our position and the scope of our thinking is different from that of young people in general. We as individuals seek to fulfill these missions. In the position of subject partner, we prepare our external abilities, engage in active practice, and influence others. You must become the kind of person who can influence others. 8 What is the pride that young people need to maintain within themselves, and who are the youth that God would come looking for? This is the question. It is not the youth who follow the stained course of our fallen ancestors, Adam and Eve. It is not the youth who doubt and complain. God's work cannot be accomplished without pure young people who declare, "Absolute sacrifice, absolute faith, absolute obedience and absolute harmony are the only way to proceed."

The place where you are standing as Seonghwa middle and high school students of the Unification Church differs from that of past historical eras. You were born when the critical point in the age of restoration is approaching. You, who are inspired by Unification Thought, will have to appear to the new world on the foundation of the united physical and spiritual worlds and on the foundation of the physical Abel. You in particular, as new flag bearers, are not old grandparents or adults. You have young blood. Only when shining groups of young people can be found in at least one place on earth, can God’s sorrowful and painful heart of 6,000 years be comforted. Only those young people can pull out and reverse the root of evil that became the base of Adam s ill will. If we cannot find them, darkness will persist throughout the cosmos. 9 You have to walk the same path your ancestors trod. We are the same as the people of Israel in the wilderness. Moses and the people of Israel were chased and went through suffering in the wilderness. Likewise, Jesus was persecuted by his own people and religion. He was distrusted even by his own family. You have to experience this same kind of sad and mortifying situation. But do not be discouraged.

What will you do if you are put in this position of being mistreated? You must experience the heart of our Father, who has suffered historically. Think of your ancestors' pain as your pain, and stand together with a heart that will not change for tens of thousands of years. Move forward while harboring enmity only toward Satan. Heaven needs young men and women who can go this way.

Heaven has been looking for truthful young people who yearn for heaven's will. Since God gave this mission to us instead of other people in this nation, we have to become elite soldiers who can march forward to face heaven's enemies. We experience deeply to the marrow of our bones the sorrowful heart of our Father. To do this, you need to unite your life and your beliefs. You need to march forward to resolve the sorrows of God, the sorrows of Jesus, the sorrows of your ancestors, and the sorrows of your descendants. (003-296, 1958/01/19)
 
10 You young people must honor and care for the 30 million people of Korea before caring for yourselves. Before thinking of yourselves, let the mind that thinks of all people on earth well up. The mind that holds one blade of grass and is able to cry for it has to explode within you beyond all understanding. Without this heart, you cannot become perfected sons and daughters of God. Such people are the fruits of God's tears and pain, offerings on God's altar of blood. Who can pioneer the path of this people? It must be those who can truly beat the ground, pound their chests and wail for the people. The ones who can save this world are young people. (005-021, 1958/11/09)
 
11 Passing through 5,000 years of history, the Korean people have walked a path of suffering. The people of this nation have walked with sadness, sorrow and injustice, without being able to appeal to anyone. What will become of these people? They are like orphans. We must hold their hands and cry with them. Only by doing that can we help the people of this nation survive. No matter what mistakes they may have made, they are our brothers and sisters, created by God with the same blood, bones and flesh.

There need to appear those young people who think beyond their individual circumstances, young people who can weep with these people with empathy and a true parental heart, one with the historical lineage of True Parents. Such young people are needed. When young people apply all of their burning passion to fulfill their own desires or make a successful career, that passion will conclude within the limits of their individual lives. 12 The original ideal for human beings is to cross over limitless barriers and embrace God in joy. We have to pour forth passion to achieve the original ideal. If God's providence engages with such groups of people as they follow a course of history, what kind of people would God want to see as a result of that providence? It would be the group of people who can shed tears to achieve God's Will, who can weep as they become entwined in one purpose, one heart and one action, who volunteer with tears to become the first offerings. God is looking for such a group of people. (005-080, 1958/12/21)
 
13 Evil stands face-to-face against us and Satan opposes us as we search for the conscientious standard. Therefore, we need to form a relationship with heaven at the place where our hearts and heaven’s heart bond, where human affection and heaven’s affection unite, the place where our thinking and heaven’s thinking are indistinguishable, where our lives and heaven's life become one, and where our love and heaven’s love interweave. If the hearts, lives, ideas and loves of heaven and human beings are united, this relationship can never be cut.

Even fallen people have a hard time cutting off relationships from each other. They cry their eyes out trying to hold on to their relationships. But who can cut off a relationship that became one through heaven’s affection? Even all the powers of evil in the world cannot cut off the flow of heart that is connected to God, the origin of our mind and soul. Until humankind finds such a heavenly standard, history will be tormented and humanity will moan.

Is there a brave person who can prevent this from happening in this world? I eagerly look forward to finding such a brave person among young men and women, a person to take on this responsibility, a person who will pioneer this mission and walk the path of this mission wholeheartedly, exploding with love over the capital city of Satan. God hopes to see many such dauntless, elite soldiers of heaven. (005-158, 1959/01/11)
 
14 Our hearts compel us to move forward to the place of ultimate truth. In the end, our hearts determine everything about us. People who hold on to their heart and carefully search it can hear the words they are given, understand the visions they are shown, and analyze the reality of life. If there are young men and women who search for a new teaching, while feeling the responsibilities that have been given them, while suppressing an anxious heart and restless mind, and if there exists a movement with a heart that can hear their cries, you too, through that heart, will be able to grasp everything in history and everything you have ever felt. People who feel this and awaken will say, "This is the teaching heaven has been searching for! This is the truth the world has been searching for! This is what God can establish proudly in front of heaven and earth!" Those who have these moments and cry out despite themselves are the owners of history, of the providence and of the heavenly laws.

In the present age, you are following a path of life on which you should fulfill your duties and leave behind achievements in the world of relationships and connections. When that comes to pass, you can be proud of yourself, awakened to the fact that, "I am the victor who represents the original, innate human nature!" At such a moment, this world and this universe will become yours and God too will become your God. (006-121, 1959/04/12)
 
15 Through us arises the starting point of happiness for heaven, earth and humankind. Someone has to take responsibility for this work. If you see some people who cannot walk properly for the tears in their eyes, who throw themselves down and appeal to God on their knees, begging to shoulder this responsibility, then bow down before them and repent deeply. If you encounter people who shed blood and sweat for heaven and the Will with thankful hearts, without thinking of themselves even though they are in a miserable and wretched situation, you must follow these people even at the risk of your life.

Such believers, such conscientious people, must arise among the people of Korea. If this does not happen, the Korean people will perish. Imagine a group of people who declare, "I am the stepping-stone of God's eternal and unchanging truth. Even though I am hungry, in ragged clothes and uneducated, other than me, there is no one who can hold Your hand with a sincere heart and devotion. Other than me, there is no one who can adjust Your clothes. Other than me, there is no one who can fix Your shoes. Other than by me, it cannot be done." On the day such a group of people comes together, they can conquer Satan's world without a fight. We ourselves are the important factor. (010-180, 1960/09/25)
