MYSTERIOUS INVISIBILITY 

신비스러운 보이지 않는 어떤 것

우리는 미주 전역에서, 또 온 세계에서

사람이 볼 수 없는 어떤 것이 일으키는 엄청난 현상을 종종 경험합니다.

Across the United States and around the world,

we often experience the dramatic effect

of something no one can see.

예를 들어 2011년에도 주택가와 상업지역을 날려버린

회오리바람 때문에 미국의여러 도시가 폐허가 되었습니다.

In 2011, for instance,

several US cities were devastated by tornadoes

that blew apart neighborhoods and business districts.

또한 매해 태풍 시즌에는 시속 160킬로미터가 넘는 바람이

건물들을 파괴할 정도로 위협적이어서 우리는 많이 놀랍니다.

And during each hurricane season,

we are shocked as winds of more than 100 miles an hour

threaten to destroy what we have built.

이 모든 것은 보이지 않는 힘에 의한 결과입니다.

물론 우리는 바람으로 인한 결과(깃발이 펄럭이고 부스러기들이 날아다니는)를 보지만,

바람 그 자체는 볼 수가 없습니다.

그것은 신비스러운 보이지 않는 어떤 것이 작용한 것입니다.

All of this is the result of an unseen force.

Sure, we see the wind’s effects (flags flapping, debris flying),

but we cannot see the wind itself.

It works in mysterious invisibility.

어떤 면에서 성령님도 이와 같습니다.

사도행전 2장에서 믿는 자들은 오순절 날 “홀연히 하늘로부터

급하고 강한 바람 같은 소리가 있어

그들이 앉은 온 집에 가득”(행 2:2)한 성령으로 충만해짐을 경험했습니다.

In a sense, this is also true of the Holy Spirit.

In Acts 2, when believers experienced

the filling of the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost,

“suddenly there came a sound from heaven,

as of a rushingmighty wind,

and it filled the whole house where they were sitting”

그 바람은 보이지 않는 성령님이

초대교회 교인들의 삶 속에 역사하시는 것을 실제로 보여준 사건이었습니다.

That wind was a tangible demonstration to those early Christians

that the unseen Spirit was at work in their lives.

성령님은 지금도 우리의 삶 속에서 역사하십니다!

만일 당신이 그리스도를 따르는 사람이라면 용기를 내십시오.

성령님은 당신의 삶 속에서 열매를 맺고,

믿는 자들이 한 몸이 되게 하고,

하나님이 우리 안에 계심을 확신시켜 주십니다.

And He still works in our lives today!

If you are a follower of Christ, be encouraged.

The Holy Spirit bears fruit in your life,

forms believers into one body,

and assures you of God’s presence.

비록 우리가 성령님을 볼 수는 없지만

 그분은 우리의 삶 속에 임재하시는 능력 있는 인격체이십니다.

The Holy Spirit is a powerful Person in our lives

even though we can’t see Him.                        -Bill Crowder

Acts 사도행전 2:1-11  

[행] 2:1	When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
[행] 2:2	Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
[행] 2:3	They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
[행] 2:4	All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
[행] 2:5	Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.
[행] 2:6	When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.
[행] 2:7	Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans?
[행] 2:8	Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language?
[행] 2:9	Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
[행] 2:10	Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome
[행] 2:11	(both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs- -we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!"

Silently now I wait for Thee, Ready, my God, Thy will to see; Open my heart-illumine me, Spirit divine. The Holy Spirit works powerfully, though invisibly.

주님의 뜻을 알고자 준비된 마음으로 나의 하나님, 지금 조용히 당신을 기다립니다 성령님이시여, 내 마음을 여시고 내게 빛을 비춰주소서 성령님은 보이지 않지만 강하게 역사하신다.
