이스라엘 들어갈 때 사용한 영문편지

"How are you?"란 인사말을 들어도 변변히 대답을 할 줄 모르던 시절에 요르단에서 처음으로 이스라엘을 건너갈 때 딸이 적어준 편지다. 내가 중동에서의 삶을 시작할 때의 개인사(個人史)라서 기록에 남기고자 한다. *** I cannot speak English, my daughter wrote this letter instead of me.   I am going to visit my son. He lives in Jerusalem with a family.   His address is Haim Lascov street 00, Pisgatzev, Jerusalem. and telephone number is 58302**. He is studying in Hebrew University.   My daughter lives in Jordan with a family. My son-in-law works in tourism field, especially for Korean Market.   I am plan to stay in Jerusalem about one or two weeks. I am coming because I miss my grandsons so much. The youngest one is three years old only.   About Iraqi visa, I traveled to Iraq on may this year, because there was The Christian Conference in Baghdad. Around 30 Korean christian went to join in this conference with me. That's why we got a Iraqi visa on my passport.   Also, I have Syrian and Lebanon visa, because I traveled both countries with my wife, and my daughter and her 3year old son for vacation.   I am a christian, so I want to see the biblical places. Because of this reason, I traveled these countries like Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.   I did not have any contact with local people and I don't have nothing from them.   If you want to check my bags, it is OK. I know it is necessary for your and my safty.   Thank you very much.   No stamp on the Passport, please.     이 편지를 지니고 요르단에서 이스라엘을 건너갈 때만 해도 별 문제가 없었다. 그러나 그 후부터는 검색대를 거칠 때마다 독방으로 들어가야 했고, 남보다 더 오랜 시간 기다리는 수고를 해야 했다. 시계 풀고 허리띠 풀고 동전을 다 내 놓아도 검색음이 멎지 않고 울리기 때문이었는데... 고관절 교체수술 후 고정시켰던 철조각을 빼는 2차 수술을 하지 않았기 때문이었다. 즐거운 회상을 담은 옛 이야기가 되었다. -관-
