Happiness
By D.J. YOON
When I was in my twenties,
I thought I would be happy only if I had a pretty woman
When I was in my thirties,
I thought I would be happy only if I had an apartment
When I was in my forties,
I thought I would be happy only if I became a manager or a director and had a car
But now,
I feel happy just by looking at the sky
I feel happy just by looking at a wild flower
How come?
How come?
Appreciation Review 感想
This poem is a thoughtful reflection on how our idea of happiness changes as we grow older.
At first, the poet believes happiness comes from having things like love, a home, or success.
But later, he realizes that true happiness comes from simple things, like looking at the sky or a wildflower.
The repeated question, "How come?" makes readers think about what happiness really means.
With its clear and gentle words, this poem reminds us that real joy is often found in the little things around us.
