“Got and MRI this morning and kinda didn’t like what we saw.
“Right now, I’ll get a second opinion and we’ll see what happens after that.
“It’s been there. The thing is, rest, feel good and when you come back just regress. My leg hasn’t gotten better since I had surgery. The same injury is there.
“The thing is I’ve never really had any problems majorly with my body. Pretty much my whole career I’ve been healthy. But this a bad time in my career to come up with this.”
Question: Can this cost you the season?
“No. I’m optimistic about it. I can get some good news and get some bad news from different people. So I’m confused.”
Question: Will you have surgery?
“No. I’m not even thinking about surgery right now. Like I said, to me that will be the last option. I’m gonna try to go through everything possible to try to avoid surgery.”
Question: What did you mean they didn’t like what they saw?
“Well, it’s because it didn’t get any better prior to surgery and post-surgery.”
Question: A year ago the test looked just the same as it does now?
“Yes. For everybody that thought I’m playing with some bull(bleep) ass knee injury, my (bleep) is real. It’s not just some pain. I’ve got a real significant problem with my knee. So everybody that was questioning my injury, it’s real.”
Question: Did you see the statement the Rockets put out saying there’s been no change from the last MRI?
“Everything’s the same. That’s the problem.”
Question: Did you feel any better after being out for the two weeks and coming back?
“Yes. With rest, I feel better. But where’s that gonna get me? It’s not fair to the guys to rest and come back and, what, five, six games later I’m feeling the same?
“I have to, for myself and for this team, I have to fix the problem to where I don’t have it no more.”
Question: You said yesterday that you just didn’t feel confident on the missed dunk in Milwaukee. Was it no confidence or did you feel pain?
“The last couple of games, I’ve regressed. I’ve felt pain. I’ve regressed. That’s what it is.”
Question: Will you see other doctors?
“Today, tomorrow, I’ll try to get as many answers as possible.”
Question: Will you come back after the All-Star break?
“Playing? I don’t know. I don’t know. I’m just trying to get all the information I can to try to get back.”
Question: Has anybody said you’re done for the year?
“Done for the year? No."
