책머리에

영어는 무작정 많이 하는 것 외는 방법이 없다고 한다.

나도 처음에는 그 말을 믿었다. 그러나 내가 중고등학교, 육사, 서울상대, 미국 로스쿨을 거치면서 영어에 많은 시간을 쏟았음에도 불구하고 원어민과의 격차가 쉽사리 좁혀들지 않았다. 진작 원어민의 수준에 도달했을 텐데, ‘왜 그렇지 않는가’라는 것이 나의 의문이었다.

2001년 저는 영어어순이 2진법으로 되어있다는 놀라운 사실을 발견하였습니다. 하나의 가설로 시작하였으나 그후 그것이 완벽한 법칙임을 확인하자 이를 세상에 알리고 싶은 마음으로 출판사 등록을 하고 2003년, 2004년에 '저절로 외워지는 영어 1, 2권'을 발간하였다. 그 과정에서 많은 문장이 저절로 외워지는 기적을 체험하고 영어에 대한 신뢰와 감동이 생겼다. 이에 변호사 일과 중에서도 시간을 쪼개어 2007년에는 '영어코드의 비밀' 증보판을 발간하였고(2008년 일본에서 '英語のコードを解く'이라는 이름으로 출간), 그후 '50키워드영어 시리즈 I(키워드:증보판), II(키워드구), III(복합키워드구), ON, IN, 기본동사 Get, Come'를 발간하였으며. 2012년에는 '영어문형코드'를, 2016년에 '영어구문론'을 발간하였다. 2023년에는 '저절로 외워지는 영어'를 한 권으로 합본, 출간하였고 2024년 '우리말과 영어의 만남', '영어구문론 5판', 2025년‘성경으로 배우는 영어 (1),(2)를 출간하였다. 2026년 2월에는‘영어문형학습법’2026년 5월에는‘문형으로 배우는 어린이영어'를 출간하였다.

이 책은 이미 출간된 '저절로 외워지는 영어'의 예문을 추가하고 복문 예문의 번역을 추가함과 아울러l 체제를 대폭 새롭게 꾸민 증보판이다. 앞선 책들과 마찬가지로 문장패턴 즉 문형을 통하여 문장이 저절로 외워지는 방법을 소개한다. 문형이라고 하면 대개 5형식문형을 생각하게 되지만, 5형식으로 10년 이상 공부한 우리나라 사람이, 5형식을 모르는 10살배기 미국 초등학생보다 대화가 잘 되지 않는 것을 보면 분명히 문제가 있다. 이에 비해 2진법영어는 디지털개념의 문형 code를 제시한다. 종래의 문장요소인 S, V, O, C 4개 요소와 부가어 A를 N, P의 2개 요소로 단순화하면 기본형(①)을 비롯하여 확장형인 홀수형(③,⑤,⑦), 짝수형(②,④,⑥) code가 성립되고 이들은 서로 규칙적으로 연관된다. 이 code에 따라 particle key word 50개의 용법에만 숙달하더라도 영어는 쉽게 정복할 수 있다. 2진법문형 code 개념은 간단하므로 설명할 것이 거의 없다. 이 책의 예문을 읽어가는 과정에서 문장이 저절로 외워지고 문형구조가 자동적으로 터득된다.

이 책은 단문 홀수형 56개, 단문 짝수형 24개, 복문 홀수형 14개, 복문 짝수형 14개 총 108개 예문을 중심으로 전개한다. 홀수형은 문장파생능력이 탁월하므로 이를 먼저 습득하면 짝수형과 복문형은 자연스럽게 터득된다. 예문을 읽을 때 파생문형에 유의하면 1석7조의 효과를 거둘 수 있다. 이해가 잘 안되는 부분은 홈페이지, 이메일 또는 전화로 저자에게 문의하기 바란다. 나는 12년 이상 네이버 지식인에서 124,000건 이상의 답변 채택을 받아 영문법/영어 1위를 유지해 올 정도로 2진법영어학습법의 최대 수혜자 중 한 사람이다. 여러분도 이 학습법을 통해 영어의 새로운 영역을 개척함으로써 인생의 대전환점을 맞기를 기대한다.
