You must deviate from the law to walk according to the Holy Spirit.
"I tell you, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desire of the flesh. For the flesh desires is against the Spirit, and the Spirit is against the flesh, and these two oppose each other, so that you cannot do what you want. If you were led by the Holy Spirit, you would not be under the law"(Galatians5:16-18)
When Paul asked some of the disciples in Ephesus who were baptized with water by John, the baptism of repentance, if you received the Holy Spirit when you believed, they answered that they did not even know that there was a Holy Spirit (Acts 28:1-2). The current problem of the worldwide church is the lack of knowledge of the Holy Spirit. That is what creates the phenomenon of the Holy Spirit appearing from the outside in the general words to repent and believe in Jesus.
Because it is not faith in Jesus as Lord in Christ by being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, the righteousness of God does not appear in him, so the Holy Spirit does not come in him. It is a matter of the gospel. They say that it is the gospel, not the law, but the gospel that is being preached is only at the level of saying that we are saved because we believe in Jesus by the grace of God. Clear messages about the new covenant are rare.
The bible does not say that the righteousness of God is revealed to those who do the law, but it says that the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel (Romans 1:17). Righteousness goes before God and prepares the way for God's steps (Psalms 85:13). Therefore, the reason the Holy Spirit does not come into him is because the righteousness of God does not appear in him, and the absence of righteousness is not the gospel.
Here's an interesting story. St.Francis, lost while asking God who he is, wanders in the woods for two days and is very hungry when he finds a house with a sign that says 'We always sell freshly baked bread' and begs for some bread. A woman said this. We do not sell bread, but rather a shop that makes a sign that sells freshly baked bread. That's what the church looked likest that time.
The churches cry out for grace, not the law. But what is that grace? They cry out for the gospel, not the law. But what is that gospel? They cry out thst this is the truth. But what is the truth? You must be able to explain with confidence in the gospel of God's grace and truth.
Before telling us to walk in the Holy Spirit, we must clearly understand the roadmap of where God has taken us through the Lord Jesus Christ through the Word of truth and tells us to listen, believe, and follow in it. Only then can we speak of God's grace and proclaim salvation by faith in which righteousness is revealed through the preaching of the gospel. Like Paul, you baptize in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and rose again.
It is the baptism of Holy Spirit, becoming one body with Christ and becoming one spirit and esting one bread (1 Corinthisns 12:13). Finally we are completely set free from the law of sin and death by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ (Romans 8:2). Free from sin and death. Because of this, we can think of the spirit that follows the spirit (Romans 8:6), and because we are guided by the Spirit of God, we are called the sons of God (Romans 8:14).
Only Christians who are thus freed in the truth bear the burden of the servitude of love in pursuit of love (Galatians 5:1, 13). If the word to love sounds like an obligation, you are still standing in the place of the flesh. If the command to walk according to the Holy Spirit sounds like an obligation, you remain in the flesh of Jesus in the place where you could not cross the cross of the Lord's death and resurrection by only receiving water baptism.
Those who live according to the flesh, that is, those who live as human beings, cannot live by the Spirit. Rather, it's clunky and cumbersome. However, those who are heirs of God in Christ and who are burdened with the burden of fulfilling the inheritance of glory will repeat the practice of walking in the Spirit.
Therefore, we must first hear and digest the gospel properly to establish the righteousness of faith in which the Holy Spirit appears in us. That's why Paul is saying that he preaches only the cross of Christ.
Humans of flesh and blood that belong to Adam cannot follow the Holy Spirit. So, there are signs saying it is grace the gospel, and walk by the Holy Spirit, but large houses with only signs indicating what grace is, to what extent the gospel and how to walk according to the Holy Spirit can stand tall every street.
