Ethanol-blended E20 petrol does not pose a problem for vehicles, though some older cars may see a decline in mileage, Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) President Sai Giridhar said, seeking to allay consumer concerns around the fuel.

에탄올이 혼합된 E20 휘발유는 차량에 문제를 일으키지 않지만, 일부 오래된 차량에서는 연비가 떨어질 수 있다고 인도자동차딜러협회(FADA) 회장 사이 기리다르(Sai Giridhar)가 밝혔다. 그는 E20 연료에 대한 소비자들의 우려를 완화하기 위해 이같이 설명했다.

Speaking exclusively to on the sidelines of the FADA 8th Auto Retail Conclave, Giridhar said E20 is regular petrol blended with 20 per cent ethanol and has already been in use in the country.

FADA 제8회 자동차 소매 콘클라베 행사에서 기리다르 회장은 E20이 일반 휘발유에 에탄올 20%를 혼합한 연료이며, 이미 인도에서 사용되고 있다고 밝혔다.

"E20 is the normal petrol which is available today. There is nothing alien about it. It is just a blended petrol which comes with 20 per cent ethanol. It is a tried and tested product by government agencies," he said.

“E20은 현재 판매되고 있는 일반 휘발유입니다. 특별하거나 낯선 연료가 아닙니다. 단지 에탄올 20%가 혼합된 휘발유일 뿐입니다. 정부 기관에서 이미 충분히 시험하고 검증한 제품입니다.”라고 그는 말했다.

He said vehicles launched in India from 2023 are E20-compliant, while older vehicles are also unlikely to face major problems from using the blended fuel.

그는 2023년부터 인도에서 출시된 차량은 E20 사용에 적합하도록 설계되었으며, 기존의 오래된 차량도 이 혼합연료를 사용한다고 해서 큰 문제에 직면할 가능성은 낮다고 말했다.

"The average might drop, but that would be in legacy cars, probably cars which are 10 years, 12 years, 15 years old cars. From 2023, whatever cars are being launched in India are all E20 compliant cars. So there has to be no fear," Giridhar said.

“연비는 떨어질 수 있지만, 이는 10년, 12년, 15년 정도 된 오래된 차량에서 나타날 가능성이 있습니다. 2023년부터 인도에서 출시되는 모든 차량은 E20 사용에 적합한 차량입니다. 따라서 두려워할 필요가 없습니다.”라고 기리다르 회장은 말했다.
