TEAR DOWN THAT WALL!  벽을 헐어라!

벽.

50여 년 전 동독에 살고 있던 사람들에게는 이 단어는

1961년 8월 13일에 세워진 장벽을 가리키는 유일한 단어였습니다.

The Wall.

For people living in East Germany over 50 years ago,

those two words were the only ones necessary to describe

the barrier erected on August 13, 1961.

그날은 동독과 서독을 분단시킨 콘크리트벽 장벽이 세워지기 시작한 날입니다.

That date marked the beginning of the construction of a concrete barrier that separated East and West Germany.

마침내

철조망을 치고 무장한 군인들이 굳게 지키면서

그 벽은 거의 뚫을 수 없게 되었습니다.

Eventually,

the wall became nearly impenetrable

-secured with barbed wire and armed men.

그러나 1989년 그 벽이 무너지면서 두 나라 사이의 장벽은 제거되었습니다.

But in 1989 the wall was torn down,

removing the barrier between the countries.

그처럼 제거되어야 할 벽이 또 하나 있습니다.

그것은 하나님과 인류 사이에 세워진 벽입니다.

Another wall needs to be removed as well

-the wall between humanity and God.

이 장벽은 에덴동산에서 한 남녀가 하나님에게 처음으로 반항했을 때 세워졌습니다.

그리고 그 이후 우리 모두는 그 반항을 계속해오고 있습니다!

That barrier was built in the Garden of Eden

when a man and a woman committed

the first act of rebellion against God.

그 뚫을 수 없는 벽이 마음속에 그려집니까?

이사야 59장 2절은

“너의 죄악이......너희와 너희 하나님 사이를 갈라놓았고”라고 말하고 있습니다.

And we all have continued that rebellion ever since!

Can you visualize that impenetrable wall?

Isaiah 59:2 says:

“Your sins . . . have cut you off from God”.

하지만 예수님의 죽음과 부활이 하나님과 우리가 화목하도록 했습니다.

Jesus’ death and resurrection,

however, has made reconciliation with God possible.

죄에 대한 그리스도의 희생을 받아들이는 모든 이들에게는

죄의 장벽이 허물어지고 하나님과 화목하게 될 것입니다.

All those who accept Christ’s sacrifice for sin

will have the barrier of sin torn down

and be reconciled to God.

그리스도의 죽음은 유대인이나 헬라인, 종이나 자유인,

그리고 남자와 여자를 갈라놓는 다른 벽들도 헐어버렸습니다.

Christ’s death has also demolished other restrictive walls

-between the Jews and Gentiles, slave and free, male and female.

당신 자신의 우유부단이라는 “벽”이

하나님의 선물인 구원을 받아들이는 것을 방해하지 못하게 하십시오.

Don’t let your own “wall” of indecision prevent you

from accepting God’s gift of salvation.

Ephesians 에베소서 2:14-18

[엡] 2:14	For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility,
[엡] 2:15	by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace,
[엡] 2:16	and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.
[엡] 2:17	He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.
[엡] 2:18	For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

The veil is rent; in Him alone The living way to heaven is seen; The middle wall is broken down And all mankind may enter in. The Bible is a record of man’s complete ruin in sin and God’s complete remedy in Christ.

장막이 찢어지고, 오직 주님 안에서만 천국으로 가는 삶의 길이 보이네 그 가운데 벽은 무너져 내리고 모든 인류가 들어갈 수 있게 되었네 성경은 죄에 빠진 인간의 완전한 파멸과 그리스도 안에서의 하나님의 완벽한 치유에 대한 기록이다.
