A Taekwondo performance and the promotion test

My husband and I went to Taekwondo institute my children are in last Friday.

The Taekwondo institute held a Taekwondo performance and the promotion test to show parents what their children learned and how well they do Taekwondo.

Especially, the students in this institute could move on to the next rank through this promotion test.

Taekwondo is divided into many various ranks.

You can know players' ranks by the colors of the belts that they wear around their waists.

My children had been wearing white belts since they registered for Taekwondo last September.

The white belts indicate that they are in the first rank.

Most of boys tend to feel jealous of those who are in higher ranks than they are.

So my children had really waited for the promotion test that would change their white belts into yellow ones. However, a promotion test is held every other month. It's too long time for them to wait.

My children had practiced Taekwondo to pass the promotion test for the past three month.

Sometimes they corrected each other's wrong forms.

Honestly, Most of beginners wearing white belts can pass the test with ease unless they are absent a lot.

When the day for the promotion test came, they looked a little bit nervous.

But when the performance and test started, they did their best and could get the yellow belts they really wanted.

(The yellow belt is a higher rank than wihte one)

Besides, my younger son won the frist prize in the hula hoop competition and my older son won the third prize in the rope competition palying with his father.

My husband and a older son practiced to play the rope toghter right before the competition.

At that time, My son bumped his head on his father's mouth.

And then my husband started to bleed at his mouth.

But my son said, " you have to stand your pain to win this game."

I've never seen my children doing something hard like that.

And they kept siting up straight without any movement for the whole performance.

It was a very strange and surprising thing to me.

Because it always seemed to be hard for them to stay at one place for a long time.

As you know, 7-year-old boys have a tendency to move around constantly.

Anyways, My children and I could do new experiences through the performance.

It was very exciting day to my family.

My older son is also awaiting his performance test.^^ I'm jealous of you. My older son had already 3 performances. But we couldn't accompany my husband. It's no wonder that we hate him.^^

Even though he is busy, he always tries to attend perfomances that my children do. but when he is at home, he doesn't play well with them. he always want to take a nap at home.
