RICHARDS: Given a tough learning curve by Giggs but rose to meet it manfully 6

TOURE: Came into his own as the Blues were forced back on their heels after the break 6

LESCOTT: Tremendous aerial battle with Berbatov, and he could claim honours were even 6

BRIDGE: Some dodgy moments in first half, sharpened up a little in the second 5

WRIGHT-PHILLIPS: One scintillating run but game paased him by too often 6

IRELAND: One or two glimpses of his true form, but not enough to win a derby match 5

DE JONG: Best player on the park in first half and dug in well when United hit the ascendancy 8

BARRY: Calmness personified for his goal, and played strong part  in midfield battle 7
