Reserved In Heaven

천국에 예비 됨

An inheritance incorruptible ... reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God. - 1 Peter1:4-5

썩지 않고...쇠하지 아니하는 기업을...곧 너희를 위하여 하늘에 간직하신 것이라...하나님의 능력으로 보호하심을 입었나니 - 베드로전서1:4-5

A friend of mine spent several months rebuilding an old Ford Bronco and turning it into an off-road vehicle for use here in Idaho. He kept it in his garage under lock and key. When Christmas came, Gary thought, What better place to hide my daughter Katie's present.

Shortly before Christmas, someone asked Katie what she was getting for Christmas. "Oh," she replied, "I already have it. It's a bicycle in a box under the Bronco in the garage!"

I don't know what methods Katie used to discover her present. But I do admire her unshakable confidence that the bike was hers even though she did not yet have it in her hands.

That confidence reminds me of the apostle Peter's words: "[God] has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time"(1Peter 1:3-5).

What is reserved for us? Our inheritance-heaven, and a legacy beyond description that rests on the certainty of eternal life, "which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began"(Titus1:2). - David H. Roper

내 친구 하나가 여러 달이 걸려 오래된 포드 브론코 트럭을 개조해 이곳 아이다호 주의 비포장도로용 차량으로 만들었습니다. 그는 이 자동차를 차고에 자물쇠를 채우고 보관하였습니다. 성탄절이 오자 친구 게리는 ‘내 딸 케이티에게 줄 선물을 감춰 두기에 여기보다 좋은 곳이 없겠군’하고 생각했습니다.

성탄절 직전에 누군가가 케이티에게 성탄절에 무엇을 받고 싶으냐고 물었습니다.케이티는 "아, 벌써 받은 걸요. 차고에 있는 브론코 아래 상자 속에 든 자전거예요!" 라고 대답했습니다.

케이티가 어떤 방법으로 그 선물에 대해 알아냈는지는 모르지만 자전거를 아직 받지 않았는데도 불구하고 그 자전거가 자기 것이라고 단정적으로 확신하는 것이 내게는 대단하게 생각되었습니다.

그러한 확신은 베드로 사도가 우리에게 해주신 말씀을 상기시켜줍니다. "하나님이 그 많으신 긍휼대로 예수 그리스도의 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하심으로 말미암아 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하시며 썩지 않고 더럽지 않고 쇠하지 아니하는 기업을 잇게 하시나니 곧 너희를 위하여 하늘에 간직하신 것이라 너희가 말세에 나타내기로 예비하신 구원을 얻기 위하여 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님의 능력으로 보호하심을 입었나니"(벧전1:3-5).

우리에게는 무엇이 예비되어 있습니까? 우리의 기업은 천국과 "거짓이 없으신 하나님이 영원한 때 전부터 약속하신"(딛1:2) 영생의 확신에 기초한 이루 표현할 수 없는 유산입니다.

주님 발 앞에 나 엎드리고
모든 천국의 주인들과 함께
왕 중의 왕이신 주님을 모시는

A Christian's future is as bright as the promises of God.

그리스도인의 미래는 하나님의 약속과 같이 찬란하다.

1 Peter 1:3-12

[3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
[4] and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you,
[5] who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
[6] In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.
[7] These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
[8] Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
[9] for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
[10] Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care,
[11] trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
[12] It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

베드로전서 1:3-12

[3] 찬송하리로다 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 아버지 하나님이 그 많으신 긍휼대로 예수 그리스도의 죽은 자 가운데서 부활하심으로 말미암아 우리를 거듭나게 하사 산 소망이 있게 하시며
[4] 썩지 않고 더럽지 않고 쇠하지 아니하는 기업을 잇게 하시나니 곧 너희를 위하여 하늘에 간직하신 것이라
[5] 너희가 말세에 나타내기로 예비하신 구원을 얻기 위하여 믿음으로 말미암아 하나님의 능력으로 보호하심을 입었나니
[6] 그러므로 너희가 이제 여러 가지 시험을 인하여 잠간 근심하게 되지 않을 수 없었으나 오히려 크게 기뻐하도다
[7] 너희 믿음의 시련이 불로 연단하여도 없어질 금보다 더 귀하여 예수 그리스도의 나타나실 때에 칭찬과 영광과 존귀를 얻게 하려 함이라
[8] 예수를 너희가 보지 못하였으나 사랑하는도다 이제도 보지 못하나 믿고 말할 수 없는 영광스러운 즐거움으로 기뻐하니
[9] 믿음의 결국 곧 영혼의 구원을 받음이라
[10] 이 구원에 대하여는 너희에게 임할 은혜를 예언하던 선지자들이 연구하고 부지런히 살펴서
[11] 자기 속에 계신 그리스도의 영이 그 받으실 고난과 후에 얻으실 영광을 미리 증거하여 어느 시, 어떠한 때를 지시하시는지 상고하니라
[12] 이 섬긴 바가 자기를 위한 것이 아니요 너희를 위한 것임이 계시로 알게 되었으니 이것은 하늘로부터 보내신 성령을 힘입어 복음을 전하는 자들로 이제 너희에게 고한 것이요 천사들도 살펴 보기를 원하는 것이니라
